Very sorry if I’ve confused things, very, but was the guarding feature meant to be included in this patch?

Heya, Just to be clear. I am liking to be saying this a lot today but the first patch deals solely with priority items and all the updates that the team had time to do. There was simply no time to do anything else as the team have been flat out on these fixes and updates, without a break. We literally did everything that could be done in the time given, which are hundreds of items.

I agree with you on Etches Park and it is on the list to be done. We are not stopping with patches and updates. Work continues. I just wanted to point out that all available team resources have worked flat out on the current patch so we literally had no time for anything further on this round of patch.

That said, it seems also that some faulty files have been put out and we are on the case to have the correct files pushed to you.

 

Guarding scenario is on Glossop route, I believe

 

I like the diamond shape of the route. Can go from A to B, A to C and B to C. For future DLC etc skyhook could go for diamond shapes again all the way to london (obviously bit by bit)
Derby/Nottingham to Sheffield acts as a diamond. Sheffield to leeds/manchester is a diamond (north section)

Leicester to Birmingham new street/ Peterborough is a diamond -
Birmingham new street/Peterborough - milton Keynes is a diamond... then straight run to london kings cross.

Class 91 enters game too!?
MML has so much potential going forward.

 

Halfway through a run from Nottingham to Leicester and even with the issues with the builds etc, I have to say congratulations to the Skyhook team - the scenery is fabulous and a substantial improvement on what came before.

I'm glad to see skyhook are wanting to focus on this route and not make, grab the money and make a new route. Hopefully this route will end up being expanded alot and if it does so then it will probably be the most played and certainly my favorite route in the whole tsw franchise. If we could get a few extensions such as to matlock with the 156, to sheffield with the 222 and the 170 they will all be instant buys for me, and who knows, maybe we will have if not the whole, the majority of the EMR network. This is obviously take a few years but I'm happy to wait as long as they keep on extending and adding dlc. As it stands with the current route I'd love to see more freight which service the power station and maybe even Loughborough work. I'd also love to see more ROG services out of Derby litchurch Lane hauling some more trains that were made there. In terms of adding freight locomotives I'd love to see the 47 making use of freight and also a 70/69/56.

 

And also eventually maybe they can expand with other ops such as Cross country

 

thanks guys, just to confirm, there are a number of patch files that are incorrect. We are fixing now.

This includes signalling, HST numbering and other files that seem not to have got pushed to Steam.

These things happen, we are on it!

Does Steam have anything to do with the Xbox version of the game?

also, seems the vigilance has been completely removed from the HST?

 

just had an emergency brake on a freight train just before midland station. service number 6M93 dagenham down to earles sidings. i was not speeding as i was losing speed because of a red at the end of the platform. i had not entered the platform i got emergency braked before the platform. i belive i was about 500 yds away from east midlands platform.

 

The improvements are great so far thank you Jane and skyhook I think pride park is missing from Derby though like you say it could be a fault

 

Also noticed the information screen on Loughborough Plat 1 (northbound) shows services headed to St Pancras.

 

Not sure if anyone’s mentioned it yet but the 158 seems to have an AI guard now? It gives you the ready to start signal, hopefully DTG can do this for there routes too

Been looking at this thread since day one as well, thank you jane-skyhook and your team for everything so far, can't wait to run the route again with the update! The 158 has already become one of my favourites to drive over the last few weeks

As far as for what I'd like to see next, the 222 and an extension to Sheffield would be my top choices, have spent a bit of time at Sheffield and would also bring back memories of a trip I did from Newcastle to Reading about 20 years ago on that stretch of line (yes, I survived a whole 5 hours on a Voyager, shock horror )

 

Is anyone else on Xbox having problems with door closure on class 158. All good on HST but not on 158.

 

I am loving the updated 158 physics including the new Door opening and closing pattern. Also the AI using the buzzer to let you know the doors are closed...I let out a loud "YES!!" when that happened lol. Wasn't expecting it and totally loving it.

 

it’s not a problem, it’s actually a realistic interpretation of what happens (or is meant to!) when working with a conductor/guard.

if you look at the external view you will notice that one set of doors closes after all the others, that’s your delay and that’s the conductor closing theirs. An excellent touch.

Was the outside PIS on the 158 meant to be fixed this time around? I get that there are ongoing issues but was the font supposed to be enlarged and the end destination displayed correctly

No problem at all. You’ll also notice from the exterior camera that the conductor doors open first and then all the others. That is a very nice bit of attention to detail.

Hi Jane, it’s not just Steam, got the same issues with XBox.
That said, just done an HST run to Leicester and it’s looking great. Looking forward to getting the freight elements when they get patched to consoles.

and look out for things like windows opening and closing so the guard can see the platform as the train leaves!

 

Can confirm the HST numbers are still the same as before on the PS5

 

yes one of the additions added to the 158, Daisy created a full guard simulation! We believe it is a first for any train sim!

 

I am loving it, I departed Nottingham on the 05.38 Nottingham to Leicester 158, heavy cloud and I loved the reflection of the side window, especially when I opened it to let air through. Such a fantastic little touch.

 

thank you Marc. It seems about half a dozen patch files have been missed. Appreciate all of you guys helping on this. Dev sent them out but seems to have been lost somewhere along the way. As I say, not the end of the world, we can push them out to all of you. Also nobody's fault, a file issue somewhere.

 

Glad you are spotting these things Marc as a HUGE amount of work went in to them. Once we get the patch fixed, you will see a whole load more

 

No issue my end, I appreciate how much hard work you've all put in to this patch and the others yet to come. Also it might be weird of me but I got a huge smile on my face when pulling into Syston station and saw the extra foliage between the slow and fast lines and knowing it was there because of a photo I uploaded weeks ago. Made me quite emotional actually lol.

 

I'm very impressed with the new patch so far great job I love the guard buzz feature brilliant to have that in the game great job overall from you and the team can't help the patch being lost but once it's resolved I look forward to the rest of it again thank you for your hard work

 

Just had a TPWS application 7.8 miles from Leicester. Service 1C20 Derby - St Pancakes
PS 5 by the way. Seems as though I am missing a few patch files as well.

It seems as though SG have given their team free reign to be as creative as possible with their attention to detail and little touches on these subtle improvements. well done to the team for a job well done! I cant wait to see what the future holds for this route going forward.

Still getting emergency braked using HST i got emergency braked twice on the same service 1D12. got braked around half way up the route and got braked just outside nottingham station. im on PS 5 were they tested. BTW i didnt have DSD on only had AWS on

 

Great, hopefully we'll get the patches some time today - the signalling corrections are the main things I'm fussed about.

A minor setup issue with one of the new freight services (6M93 Leicester to Toton HL).

The second Class 66 has its headlights set to day by default:



Which somehow illuminates the cab of the leading Class 66:



Turning them off gives a much better driving experience!

 

Ok guys,

An update from me. We have confirmed that there has been an issue with pushing of some of the patch files. I can only but apologise. It seems to be an error in an automated file revision tool. Each platform has its own missing things. I am so sorry I really wanted you all to love this patch on release.

The good news is we are working rapidly to audit each file for integrity and checking for each format, PC, PS5, Xbox etc. We are in constant contact with DTG who are being super helpful. (thanks guys!). My hope is for a micro update coming really soon to replace those missing files.

We have spotted signalling files missing (including safety systems), various HST files (including DSD, numbering of units and coaches etc). Also new buildings not appearing on different platforms.

Dev sent out a full and complete patch (I am really proud of the team!). Along the way, some file tool has mangled versions of some of the many thousands of files that has gone in to the patch. I want to be clear this is not a "fault" of either Skyhook or DTG who have both worked really hard to bring this patch to you. It seems a revision tool got a life of its own on file versions.

Again, I apologise and we will get anything missing to each platform very shortly.
