One thing I have noticed, particularly more recently, is a declining amount of teasers/pictures for upcoming DLC. It now tends to be 'Next route for TSW: Route X from Y-Z' containing little or no information and no images. What I did like is when they previously used to give us little teasers and images for upcoming DLC, to build up the excitement a little. For example, below is how GWE was hinted through various stages of its development, which I quite liked. First hint: Second hint: Third hint: Now, I am in no way expecting DTG to provide a concrete (or any immediate) date for that matter, it'd just be nice for them to engage with the community a bit more as they have gone back into the infamous 'secret/silent mode' again. We all know plans and timescales change, but if you are fairly confident that the next DLC you are working on will be the first to release, then where the harm in releasing a few sneaky teasers?
I believe the teasers came to an end when Jay left. Admittedly NEC was guessed really quickly which may have been another reason the teasers ceased.
new update has the dovetail store added ingame, menu layout change.... no bugfixes though.. as expected. all about the revenue not about the quality.
Bug fixes are done by different individuals and are uploaded in batches. Our latest batch of bug fixes was released 21 days ago: https://live.dovetailgames.com/live...ticle/train-sim-world-pc-update-available-now
Are you sure? Just got an 177.1mb update for Train Sim World? And it is not that latest batch of updates, since I played TSW just last friday and you need to update first before you can play the game.
Sounds like crossover to me. Hasn't been unusual for a patch to be released and THEN for the announcement to be made
The 177MB update is the new menu interface including DTL integration and the ingame store. If you got an update last week this is likely the recent update Steam released to their redistributables.
Ah, thanks. I came to the forums today wondering what the Steam update that just got pushed was about. I went right to the News & Updates forum expecting it was a new patch, but nothing was there. I'm not sure if this info was posted elsewhere that I haven't looked yet, but if not, it's kind of buried if it only exists here in this unrelated thread.
Whoever downvoted is obviously ill because it's true if you rush you cause the game to misscalculate. It's a program not God.
I am trying to work out what all the fuss is about regarding downvotes and upvotes. Is it a way to massage someones ego? Some on here seem obsessed with them!
I don't know if you work in the software programming industry or not but, with respect, software is supposed to be working in the same way all the time, whatever "speed" you as a human interact with it. That's actually a bug and a show of the poor QA from DTG: 1) It's a bug because (take this as an approximate explanation) in UI components like this you should wait for the previous 3D model to finish loading before starting loading the next one. Here DTG is clearly starting to load the next 3D model before the previous one has finished loading, causing the trigger that clears the model currently shown to bug out (it is probably not reset correctly); 2) and it is poor QA because I've not done anything special to trigger that bug, just scrolled between my trains using the new UI introduced with the update. Something that a QA tester was supposed to have checked before release...
Perhaps this post is what prompted DTG to reinstate the guessing game and without it we would still be in the dark regarding the next DLC.
I'm not seeing any Tweets or any announcement on Dovetail's media pages. Is there a reason you felt the need to bump this topic?
They can’t just ‘add wires’ to the current GWE route, as a lot of things have changed, both station wise and infrastructure wise. A whole new, modern version of GWE route be required, rebuilt from scratch.
It’s awesome that Dovetail released a Metroline cab car from Amtrak on TSW now I think they should add New Jersey Transit onto train sim world or Metro North Harlem line.
I think this makes a lot of sense. Would also allow use of the existing equipment from NEC, not to mention the new Cabcar DLC.
