    Hopefully someone can confirm…
Does that also include riding as passenger?
I was about to blow full price on this yesterday evening but for some reason held back, saw this and now glad I did. Sale item only.

So sounds like a typical Rivet half hearted effort again.

I was nearly tempted. Hope they update the sounds to finish the job.

I really despair of Rivet. Thought they might have turned over a new leaf but it's the same old story. Where is the testing and why do DTG continue to indulge their amateur efforts? Part of me was just looking forward to having a relaxing time travelling up and down the line, waiting at stations basically doing a bit of "cranking".

This is quite an old thread, but I do remember reading that they actually have updated the sounds since. Does anyone know if the stock is actually good now? The most recent video I can find of it are from 6 months ago, so I assume those are still the old sounds.

Can't speak for 4 as I don't have it yet, but just ran a scenario in '38 stock on 3 just now and can confirm that it does indeed have noises, where no noises were present the last time I used it

Can't make any claim to their authenticity or not, a tube train sounds like any other tube train to my ears, but there's a nice rumble as you come out of the yard, and the thrummy hummy thing when you engage the throttle, both of which I don't recall when I last played it - fairly sure all there was was the track joint noises plus anything ambient going on around you

Well not perfect but it’s an old train and frankly it’s a pain in the arse to record real sounds. Compared to day it came out, I can say it’s more pleasant to drive it, it’s not as silent as it used to be. Rivet added compressor sound. It’s finally noisy.

Thanks for the info guys. Might get it in the future then. I do like Bakerloo Line, but was never really into the '72 stock. I find the '38 much more interesting, but never got it due to the horrible sounds it originally had. I don't expect 100% authenticity, but it was just ridiculously silent. If it actually sounds like a tube train now and does not coast in dead silence, that is enough for me, lol.

Dinosbacsi, I asked OldVern about it some time ago.
I got it in a sale in the meantime for 50% off and don’t regret it. I love old electrics though. It is still a Rivet product, so adjust your quality expectations accordingly if you make the jump.

Just to affirm the above, it is much better than on release, not perfect but IMHO actually nicer to drive than the 1972 stock.
