Would be a cool addition to do some passenger runs, since its AC/DC she won't be coming...

Looks like an interesting loco, I wonder if it will layer into services on other routes? It seems it is quite widely used (I don't know much about German operations) so I presume it would be suitable for a few routes not just Kassel-Wurzburg and Dresdend-Riesa?

RSN is another route that wouldn’t fit. It’s set in 2007 whereas Railpool was founded in 2008 with their first Vectrons being delivered in 2012.

Another German route question I was pondering the other day. There seem to be no freight services for Koln-Aachen, which seems odd as every other German route has them. I have pretty much all the German content. Yet I noticed yards, including at least one with no overhead lines. I assume there would be freight services on the route?

True but to be honest I would really like to drive it there although it might be not 100% correct :D

Thanks to the Wikipedia references section, I stumbled upon this site. Not a list in the way you asked for but should be a good basis for research.

IIRC, the original SKA didn't have freight but the New Journeys expansion does.

Cologne-Aachen has a few Freight Layers. One from Main-Spessart Bahn, one from Rhein Ruhr Osten and of course the DB BR 187.

Thanks all, I am so silly, I uninstalled some content I hadn't used for a while to save disc space and MSB and RRO were two of them. I though it was odd. I will reinstall them now.

Yeah that is rather unfortunate but who knows maybe we'll get a passenger variant at a later date as part of a route dlc or as part of those 'new loco bundles' that dtg seem to like doing now.

Well she doesn't drive afaik on routes that are in TSW at the moment. Ah well maybe on Kassel-Wurzburg she's possible.

To be fair im already happy with the normal freight version!

The freight version of the locomotive can also pull passenger cars. The Vectron locomotive is very versatile.

Well, there's all sorts of different standards for locomotive – passenger train communication (or at the very least, door control). I imagine when purchasing a locomotive, you can choose which ones of these you want – or indeed, if you want any at all. So I'm sure that there are Vectrons that can't pull passenger trains, or at least not German passenger trains.

And according Railpool's website, "For passenger use, train destination displays, side-selective door control and various dispatching procedures are scaffolded on part of the [Vectron] fleet."

Let's hope DTG are making one that's suitable for passenger trains.

Even if the DLC doesn't come with any timetable passenger services, I really hope that there will be scenario planner formations for it with dostos and the white IC-coaches.

On Czech railways, they are often pulled by express trains with Vectron locomotives. We already have suitable passenger cars in the game. I don't see a problem why the Vectron couldn't pull passenger cars.

If the next DLC is the Vectron locomotive (my favorite) I would like it to have a layer with passenger trains.

For the ones at DTG that make the liveries:
Would it be possible for you guys to make like the boxes at the lower part of the loco where all the informations and numbers that are the same on most Vectrons directly on the livery when you create one? Just like when you make a livery for the Ge4/4 II by Rivetgames? That would be so awesome as most Vectron liveries are very colourful and the livery limit would prohibit most of them or the small details :(

Of course, there are lots of Vectrons pulling passenger trains. But not all Vectrons, and not all Railpool Vectrons have the equipment necessary for it. So Dovetail might be making a Vectron that can't be used for passenger trains. They could just as easily make one that's suitable for passenger trains, which I'm sure everyone here would prefer, but we're just not going to know which one it is until they announce it.

For your part of the world in Slovenia the common ones are ÖBB Baureihe 1293 and ELL Vectron Green colours. I have suggested the Austrian Vectron 1293 as part of the Schnellfahrstrecke Salzburg Linz Sankt Pölten Wien Westbahn route. Which would make it the alternative paint for Railpool silver version

Incorrect. Railpool owns Vectron MS (15 kV 16 2/3 Hz, 25 kV Hz, 3 kV DC, 1.5 kV DC) variants as well ;) I guess the website just hasn't been updated.

$64k question… What do these Vectrons sound like? Are they the horrible screeching singing of the Traxx family or more conventional electric traction sound. I do like the 189 in TSC, in that respect.

Have a listen. I think they sound quite nice.

The last one includes a closer look at the cab and the engine room - in German only unfortunately.

I should of paid more attention to the video title, silly me.

As far as I can tell, code says "Electric Multi-Current". Does that rule out AC/AC or DC/DC combinations?

You guys know what would be amazing? If this Loco would not only get Sifa, Pzb and Lzb, but also the ETCS from Luzern so we finally have a loco to run with safety systems (although it’s still not working 100%)

It actually makes no sense to use the Vectron purely as a freight locomotive, as many passenger trains on German routes are hauled with Vectrons (e.g. Flixtrain).

But unfortunately you never know what DTG is up to.

Well that's not true. That's not "many". It's a few flix train services per day as well as some DB regio services in Hessen operated by MRCE Vectrons.
Then there are the CD Eurocity trains. And afaik, that's it for germany. You mostly see it on freight trains.

    So what?

It's all about the possibility and technical conditions for passenger transport with the locomotive.

Everything else can be regulated with private repaints.
