I am quite impressed with Skyhook Games for adding a virtual guard onto the Class 158 in Midland Mainline. It brings one more level of realism into the game. I used to work on the Class 158 in the West Country, and it certainly brings back memories. I hear, from DTG that they are looking to bring in a guard role within some games, where you have to walk through the train checking tickets as an AI driver does the driving. Should be interesting to see it working, complete with bugs. Anyway well done Skyhook for having a go.
It really does the trick. It’s such a small addition but it’s made my playing experience so much better.
I love it, its put a massive smile on my face! still very easy to be on time as well. A very well thought out and executed feature imo.
I haven't seen/played it but ... are there chances to see this guard on future UK DLCs or is this exclusive to Skyhook Games now? You can't know nowadays
It is a Skyhook feature for now, but it doesnt mean that it could not become a core feature in the future if it is popular.
Do you still operate the doors on mml, or does the virtual guard take care of that and you just get the buzzer?
I do not own the route, but saw it in action on YT. If you close the doors via keyboard (ie pressing "y" or "u") the virtual guard will close all doors except his local door. Then he will close his own door and buzz you. I believe you can still do the guard stuff yourself if you run to a door panel and follow the procedure instead of using the keyboard / menu to close the doors.
DTG Mentioned in the last roadmap This is the first iteration And testing of Guard Mode,if Enough positive feedback On the new feature There is a high probability It will make its way to there routes In the Future. Third rail electrical sparks And catenary Sparks feature Introduced by rivit games Second Isle of Wight release Opened the Door For future implementation Of electrical sparks on every appropriate Train Sim World 3 route.
