Can I talk Glossop? (people tell me that I usually do!)

I was up really late last night (well in to this morning before work), with the forthcoming Glossop route. I have to say it is fantastic. Really loving it!

The guard simulation is totally new and it is fun. Not just opening doors, but checking tickets from people as they board etc and all the usual guard duties, whilst the AI driver does the driving - and yes the AI driver responds to your buzzers etc! I love the route I love that feature

Add to that, if you own MML you can layer in and drive the 158 out of Manchester Piccadilly etc!

This is not a commercial plug post (I am not on royalties :) )... This is a fan me post, who knows what I am going to do all weekend, so just had to share how much sheer fun it is!

Ah Jane, you get to experience the Glossop ahead of us folks and loving every minute of it. Having watched several cab ride videos of the route, it is amazing fun with all those end changes in a short stop. Looking forward to getting it in just over a week.

    Hi Jane,

Not sure if this has been mentioned (and aware this is a loooong thread!) but, since the update and the addition of the new door functionalty on the 158 (guards buzzer and delayed doors) a new bug has arisen. I have been playing on timetable mode on PS5 and keep finding 158s sitting at stations idling well beyond their official departure times as if they are waiting on something in order to leave.

I have picked a couple of these services to see what's up and find that I can neither open or close the doors using the normal controls, nor get the guard buzzer effect. It's almost like these trains think they are moving when they are sitting at a standstill.

Sorry if any of the above makes little sense or if the skyhook team are onto this already. I've been periodically testing this for a week now and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to when or where it occurs, it just does!

    Phill

so much love for it too Sharon, it is a route that I have travelled so much back in the day. I used to visit Guide Bridge for the Class 76s... I love those unique locos!

jane-skyhook Do you happen to know if DTG have used the same foliage & grass in Glossop as they did in Peak Forest? Asking for a friend ;)

Hang on, is the Glossop Line being developed by SHG as well?
Also, I keep trying to point out the broken Mastery and Collectables. Any plans to fix these issues or am I just shouting into the void?

AIUI, Mastery is Dovetail Live's department, not the route developer's.

No, DTG is developing it. She just has early access due to SHG's relationship with DTG, but due to NDA she can't say much about it.

    Here's a revolutionary idea: Ask.

jane-skyhook , do you have a pronoun preference?

I think Jane’s latest update on that is they’re committed to creating more content for the route and been discussing specific things internally, but can’t share anything publicly yet.

Can I make the suggestion that people show some respect to jane-skyhook and if you are not sure what pronoun to use you don’t use any?

furthermore, can I suggest respectfully that anyone who continues to bring up personal matters appertaining to Jane is suspended or banned from this forum.

behave like adults here, and show some damn respect.

An extension to Sheffield from both Nottingham and Derby would be great, along with the addition of the class 153, 156, 222 DMUs along with an alternative freight loco such as class 56 or class 60 as opposed to the fairly common class 66.
Overall so far the route is fantastic and I’m sure you and the team are working hard to make this a fantastic route for everyone, keep up the good work.

None of the above / Nonexistent. Actually, I don't think any TransPennine Express stock is in the game.

The Class 158, however, seems to be in relatively good shape. People have mentioned one or two bugs after the first patch, but some of this might also be cleared up with the hotfix coming Soonâ„¢.

definitely not shouting in the void. These items are on our list for the next patch. We just wanted to clear major showstoppers first. We are working through everything posted by beta testers and all of you here, alongside our team updates. We are plodding on daily with fixes and new content.

You're welcome. Some languages have a gender-neutral, third-person singular pronoun, but English is one that doesn't. Maybe that will change one day.

It's been really interesting reading about the improvements to MML. I don't suppose a TSW2 compilation would be possible....

I held off buying MML after reading all the initial feedback, and I'm really glad I did - the initial release sounded extremely buggy. I have been back in the UK for a few weeks visiting family and friends (and getting A LOT of train travel in) and on my return saw the extensive patch list, and decided to purchase the DLC. I am really enjoying it a lot (especially the guard feature - it really adds to the realism)! I'm so glad I waited for the patch to come out as having bought Rivet's Edinburgh to Glasgow content prior to its patching I know how much it ruined the route for me, and even after patching I still barely ever play it.

I know there are still more patches to come, and some niggly things to tidy up (though they look to be well in hand), but I am really pleased by how good this route is. I hope it continues to grow and will have the depth and variety that Tees Valley Line (my favourite route) does.

I'd like to thank Jane for their involvement and interaction with the community, I think without it this the patching wouldn't have been as extensive and successful as it is. Thanks Jane!

I can't imagine how many hours have been put in all told between the development, release and patching; but I really feel like I've got my money's worth on this one as I like all of the UK Routes

I hope that after the full patch 1 is released we'll see some of the negative Steam reviews turn positive. 30% positive at that point won't be a realistic reflection, even if it's coming some time after the initial release, and that there's more to come.

They has been the English third-person singular non-gendered pronoun since the 1300s :)

That goes with the preferred pronouns you sometimes see under a post "they/them".

Exactly, and it isn't the new use of the word "they" that I think some people believe it is :)

As Jane noted in a post on the last page, his birth certificate shows intersex, not male or female. I would say then its up to Jane to say which. Now let's get back to MML talk.

Jane i found another 2 issue with 2 services.

Service class 66 rail tour: east midlands park way to weymouth. 5.45am there is a man stuck in the platform after he got of my train.
    16870261203596672913734309706840.jpg

Second one is 3j43 class 66 service syston-syston.

When i got to the Leicester bypass, i shut down the cab i was in, moved to the other end started up the cab, ready to go, but couldn't take the brakes off. I checked every other cab and those were all the same. The only way i could get the train moving was to go back in the cab i came from, set it up, put it in reverse and reversed it up to syston station. So this is a bug for sure.

Yep, but its main use for plurals can make that confusing. A dedicated word would be nice.
