What makes us attracted to Heritage Railways? History? Uniqueness? None of those, its the sheer power of steam and diesel. You can drive steam along a Heritage Railway in Train Sim World 3: Steam of Somerset. Hello all! Finally back suggesting something, doing to do a loco pack suggestion today, this suggestion will include 3 brand new steam locomotives for the West Somerset Railway route: These being the:LMS Class 7F, 6960 "Raveringham Hall" and SR V class. Do note that all the services and scenarios WILL use Chocolate and Cream BR MK1 coaches - which come already in the base WSR route. LMS Class 7F: The Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway (S&DJR) 7F 2-8-0 is a class of steam locomotive. Class 6960 Raveningham Hall: 6960 Raveningham Hall is a Great Western Railway, 4-6-0 Modified Hall Class locomotive. SR V class: The SR V class, more commonly known as the Schools class, is a class of steam locomotive designed by Richard Maunsell for the Southern Railway. Coaches: SR Maunsell carriage: The Southern Railway Maunsell carriage was the first design family of railway carriages built by Richard Maunsell for the Southern Railway. Now that we have our locomotives and coaches: Lets go straight to the scenarios: Summer Somerset: Take this LMS F7 along the entire line for this railtour service before taking it out of service along the line. Railtour Preperation: Take this LMS F7 along the route non stop to prepare for a railtour where at Minehead you will get off and talk to the next volunteer before leaving. Theres always one: Your job as volunteer isn't just driving trains: Check people's tickets at Minehead before they bored, but you know that job is easier said than done given some people. Lesson Time: Take this SR V school between Minehead and Wilton to teach a new volounteer the controls - Be sure to awsner any questions they have correctly. Winter is coming: Take this 6960 all the way to Minehead from Bishop Lyeyard and back on a special railtour. FInishing notes: Thanks for reading, thought id ease myself back into making suggestions with a simplish one. Thanks for reading.
Yeah thanks. Given we've had 3 (moreover 2) Steam dlc's its bound time we get one for a heritage railway, especially the WSR. As these 3 locos (being ones DTG are already fairly familar with due to TSC) are a good place to start for the WSR.
Yeah but the thing is there both diesel - Given that the WSR is the largest heritage railway in the country, it really needs some steam to properly solidfy it as a heritage route. (And not to mention that logic didn't stop DTG when doing the loco bundles)
Do WSR have a schools class and Maunsell coaches? The other two locos would certainly be nice, good suggestion mate.
I don't think it currently is on WSR but it has certainly been on WSR in the past - I belive cheltham being the one but do not qoute me on that part?
Bring it on to the game and consider this they should be able to substitute onto Derwent Valley Line and WCML Liverpool Lime Street to Crewe. We should be able to use the turntable on the route with the locomotives.
I don't believe any of the three classes would have ever run on these routes, if so it would be a one off.
A GWR Hall and Pannier Tank would be ideal for the WSR and set the stage for a proper ex GWR main line steam era to follow. Throw in a rake of Hawksworth and/or Collett coaches and we’d be laughing.
LMS 7F? 6 out of the 11 7Fs were built long before the LMS was even considered. They eventually became part of the LMS in 1923 but were originally under the operation of the S&DJR
As a local to the WSR the fleet currently stands at 3 manors 1 on loan for the summer season 2 are permitted 1 prairie 1 pannier tank and a GWR mogul class and coaches are all MK1’s in different livery’s
Steam would be great on WSR hopefully they add another heritage railway like the Severn Valley would love that in TSW
WSR could use a nice gameplaypack, including a steam gala , a diesel gala timetable and maybe also a maintenance day timetable with some freight treins. The latter would have not more than 5 services, spread over the day and a nice story like you see at Clinchfield.
