I just started playing tsw again after a long break and tried to do a custom scenario with the Jubilee Steam Loco and got a "Service Failure" for absolutely no reason just like what happened all those many months ago like seriously they STILL haven't fixed that even this far down the line thought for sure it would be am. I the only one experiencing this or do any others also experience this problem??

If you're on manual firing try it on Automatic because the manual firing isn't supported and doesn't work properly at the moment unless you fully know what you're doing.

No my problem is not with the firing it's when I use the Jubilee Steam Loco after a while it just comes up with "Service Failure" and the service ends and I unable to complete it

But are you using manual or automatic firing? If you are using manual firing try using automatic firing and see if you still get the service failure.

If you are using manual Firing (which is essentially still automatic apart from control of the dampers and blower) you MUST hold down the "F" key or equivalent on the gamepad (open the firebox door) to start the process. Otherwise the game will record no coal being put on the fire and it will go out, admittedly long before that would happen in IRL, thus spawning the service failed message.

Like others said, the only way you can get a service failure is by running out of steam if you set it to manual firing. It's been tested by Matt, exec. producer himself and that's the only issue.

I play with assisted firing not sure if that causes issues I haven't tried with automatic firing as I like having some control I wasn't aware of running out of steam as my boiler pressure was always blowing the safety valve so I never considered running out of steam I'll try with automatic firing and see if I'm able to get through the scenario then I'll report back thanks for replies guys

It includes both manual and assisted firing. Only automatic firing will work.

As noted above, you can do it with manual firing. You just need to open the firebox doors to start the fireman shovelling. More flawed than broken, combined with the fact the first reminder you get is when the scenario fails.

Ye when I use assisted I like that I can control the shoveling of coal by opening and closing the door as I was trying to control the annoying safety blowing constantly so my boiler was always at full pressure so I never realised I was running out of steam it feels like it's bugged to me but at least I can complete services and scenarios in automatic so thank you everyone for your responses

It is definitely not working as intended. As I posted in another thread there is no way a two tonne mass of incandescent fuel would just go out or rapidly cool after a few minutes, particularly if the engine is being worked and the dampers open. I had it happen to me on Peak Forest on the scenario where you take the brakevan tour about three miles west of Chinley, run round and come back using the 4F. I forgot to open the firebox door and during the run round, I.e. about seven minutes into the scenario got the failed message. My instant and immediate response actually uttered out loud, to the chagrin of the wife and cat was, “What a load of old b0110cks…”
