Hello all, TrainGeek08 is back again with another suggestion, this time it's the East Suffolk Line from Ipswich to Lowestoft as it has great scenery and this is a great candidate for a route in TSW Route Map: Stock included in base route: The British Rail Class 755 'FLIRT' BMMU in Greater Anglia livery Training (In Training Center): Class 755 Introduction Scenarios: Suffolk Sun: (Difficulty - 1 ) Drive this Greater Anglia 755 from Lowestoft to Ipswich on a nice sunny day in Suffolk Saxmundham Reversal: (Difficulty - 2) A landslide is blocking the line past Saxmundham heading to Lowestoft, drive this GA 755 to Saxmundham from Ipswich and return Faulty FLIRT: (Difficulty - 4 ) A FLIRT's diesel engine is playing up so is sat at Oulton Broad South awaiting fitters and/or a replacement train. drive said replacement train from Halesworth to Oulton, couple to the FLIRT, and take it to Saxmundham, where the fitters will attend to the broken unit FLIRT Doubled: (Difficulty - 2) The Lowestoft Airshow is on today, so GA have put on a double 755 to accomodate that, drive the double set to Lowestoft from Ipswich and hopefully see a couple of planes as you get closer to Lowestoft Timetable: Here's a link to a downloadable pdf of the Network Rail Working Timetable from May 2019 on the East Suffolk Line so you can see what the service pattern is like along the line (East Suffolk Line is section LA03 if you are interested ) 2019-05 WTT LA | Network Rail Corporate Archive Potential DLC, Layers, Stations & Points of Interest are coming up on Pages 2 & 3...

Page 3: Key stations on the route: Ipswich: Ipswich railway station is on the Great Eastern Main Line in the East of England, serving the town of Ipswich, Suffolk. It is 68 miles 59 chains (110.6 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and, on the main line, it is situated between Manningtree to the south and Needham Market to the north. Ipswich is also the terminus of the East Suffolk Line to Lowestoft, a branch line to Felixstowe and a branch line to Ely, Cambridgeshire. Its three-letter station code is IPS. The station is operated by Greater Anglia, which also operates all trains serving it, as part of the East Anglia franchise. Saxmundham: Saxmundham railway station is on the East Suffolk Line in the east of England, serving the town of Saxmundham, Suffolk. Situated between Wickham Market and Darsham, it is 22 miles 29 chains (36 km) down the line from Ipswich, and 91 miles 11 chains (147 km) from London Liverpool Street. Its three-letter station code is SAX. It is managed by Abellio Greater Anglia, which operates all trains serving the station. The signalling centre for the line is located in the signal cabin on the Lowestoft-bound platform, which formerly served as the control centre while the line was signalled using the Radio Electronic Token Block (RETB) system. A branch line, which formerly ran to Aldeburgh on the coast from just north of Saxmundham, is still used for goods traffic to the nearby Sizewell nuclear power stations. Brampton: Brampton railway station is on the East Suffolk Line in the east of England, serving the villages of Brampton, Redisham and surrounding hamlets in Suffolk. It is 35 miles 70 chains (57.7 km) down the line from Ipswich and 104 miles 49 chains (168.4 km) measured from London Liverpool Street; it is situated between Halesworth and Beccles. It is commonly suffixed as Brampton (Suffolk) in order to distinguish it from the station of the same name in Cumbria. Brampton and the line typically sees one train per hour in each direction between Ipswich and Lowestoft. It is managed by Abellio Greater Anglia, which also operates all the trains.[1] Oulton Broad South: Oulton Broad South railway station is on the East Suffolk Line in the east of England, and is one of two stations serving Oulton Broad, Suffolk. The other is Oulton Broad North on the Wherry Lines. Oulton Broad South is the next station along from Lowestoft on the line to Ipswich, and from Lowestoft the line crosses Mutford Bridge with a view of Lake Lothing to the east and Oulton Broad lake to the west. The station is 115 miles 42 chains (185.9 km) measured from London Liverpool Street via Ipswich. It is managed by Greater Anglia, which also operates all trains that call. Lowestoft: Lowestoft railway station (formerly Lowestoft Central) serves the town of Lowestoft, Suffolk. It is the eastern terminus of the East Suffolk Line from Ipswich and is one of two eastern termini of the Wherry Lines from Norwich (the other being Great Yarmouth). Lowestoft is 23 miles 41 chains (37.8 km) down the line from Norwich and 48 miles 75 chains (78.8 km) measured from Ipswich; it is the easternmost station on the National Rail network in the United Kingdom. The station is currently managed by Greater Anglia, which also operates all of the trains that call. Services are typically formed of Class 755 FLIRT trains. According to Office of Rail Regulation usage figures for 2010/11, Lowestoft was the fourth-busiest station in Suffolk, after Ipswich, Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds. Until the late 1960s, the station was served more frequently, with regular express trains for holidaymakers in the summer to and from London Liverpool Street and local services to Great Yarmouth. As part of Greater Anglia’s latest franchising agreement in 2016, direct services between Lowestoft and London will return; however, there are currently "no indications of when services may be introduced". Points of Interest: (I seen some POIs but I'm unsure if they could be seen from the train as I'm not confident with that area, if there anyone whose local line is this line, be sure to confirm please or if anyone wants to help me, then feel free ) I hope you enjoyed this one, keep giving me feedback on these as it is gratefully appreciated from my side, put your thoughts below on this one, I've been TrainGeek08 as always, and I'll see you next time for another suggestion or CC mod release announcement, until then it's goodbye from me
Great suggestion mate, the East needs a representation in TSW and this route would be a great one to do it with. The only issue I have with it is that I loathe the 755s/745s so would prefer it in an earlier era: even if it was only a year or two before their introduction. Nonetheless still a great suggestion to keep your high and well known standards up.
Cheers mate, I really don't mind what era this route was set whether it is in the FLIRT era or Sprinter/Turbostar era Yep, I'm keeping those expectations high and I really hope someone from DTG or third-parties do read these and are inspired to create that line that I suggest
Good suggestion and ideally joined in with the Wherry and Sheringham lines to give a larger East Anglian network. Though not generally a fan of modern trains but I have heard the 755’s are quite noisy. For me the ideal would be when the route saw Class 105 Cravens DMU’s, possibly the Gloucester Class 100’s and of course 31’s on the local freight workings. At a pinch the 101 would serve.
That with the Wherry Lines would be nice, and the GEML between Ipswich and Norwich to join up the two ends of the route too would be nice Hadn't thought about BR era, those trains would be new except for a 31 layer from TVL and a 101 layer from TVL/NTP/DLOTGW, would be nice to get more first gen DMUs in TSW someday
Wherry lines would be better IMO, as it would have a greater variety of gameplay with the various lines it encompasses. The East Suffolk Line in comparison is very A to B with little variety in the service pattern with a fairly infrequent service. Despite that, we definitely could do with something in the Eastern region, even if backdated.
I totally agree, the Wherry Lines has that variety whether you go to Lowestoft or Great Yarmouth whereas this line is A-B like you say Backdated eras could be nice, especially the Anglia Railways era or even going as far back as the BR era would be nice as well to get the Eastern Region covered in TSW
Oh yes definitely - the Wherry lines in particular by having the Summer Saturday excursion trains hauled by a variety of diesel locomotives. Personally I don't mind the era picked, as long as the gameplay has some variety in operations. The current branding also might be difficult to obtain given we've had no Greater Anglia content both in TSW and TSC so far. More reason to backdate it!
Time to bring it into the game and furthermore there are class 70 Services towards the port of felixstowe https://youtube.com/shorts/_253JfvtRCQ?feature=share
Yep, but Felixstowe wouldn't be included in this line sadly, but if it was then the 70 would be probably the best DLC candidate for this DLC
Thank you for telling me about it. On the other hand making this 2017-2018 Class 153 can fit with the alternate colors being its original 1986-1993 paint
Maybe set it in a transition period between the Sprinters leaving GA and being replaced by the new FLIRTs that GA ordered and still run to this day
