Just a thought. Since the majority of the routes involved is extremely old, it would make sense to feature the most appreciated remastered versions, whether from the workshop or elsewhere. I know about Falmouth Branch. As is, there is a pretty good chance for these recommendations to flop with new users encountering the decade (and a half) old graphics. Even if it's UK and well supported by various enhancement packs. There are plenty of pretty places and weathers on these routes as is, and I absolutely support having them up in the store for historic value and workshop requirements.
Agreed, there was a huge improvement in route building quality already since RailWorks / RW2. The only real dated looking routes imho are the old Kuju RailSimulator core routes ECML (NewcYork), GWML (OxPadd), Somerset Dorset Joint Railway (BathTemp), Ruhr-Sieg (HageSieg) and Cajon Pass.
GWML and SDJR are in the article as relevant. I also choose to see the beauty in every route, but there is a motivation behind TobBirk's admirable work. I mean, of course RWE and AP Weather makes things prettier, but the target audience is ... a good question, most of the pack being Pro. Just play the store version of these routes for a week and report back
This is a good idea but in my opinion these bundles are too expensive, I would definitely be buying all of these bundles if it weren't for the price. For example, the former Chinese Bundle for Train Simulator Classic that was recently removed when the main 3 routes that come with the game were changed, had about 250-500 Australian Dollars worth of content in it and it was being sold for an amazing price of $56.95. And I missed out on getting it too, thinking it would be around for a long time to come but like I mentioned, it was removed and I missed out on an amazing bundle of routes and trains. These new bundles offer much less but priced higher than the Chinese Bundle was so I just don't see myself buying these unfortunately and just too expensive for me. Same goes for the current Country bundles too actually, they feature much less than the old Country bundles did but still cost a similar price and they may have been possibly even slightly cheaper than the current Country bundle prices but I can't remember exactly. It's just rather disappointing to see and would potentially put off newcomers to the game compared to the older bundles being so much better value and massively helping out newcomers due to how much DLC there is in this game and how expensive it all is. If you were to ask me my thoughts on what these bundles should be priced to now, (these anniversary bundles at least) would be around $28.95 if we are considering the value of the old bundles. $56.95 even, just as long as it's significantly less expensive because like I mentioned, I don't see myself paying over $100 for 7 DLC when you could pay around $50 and get well over 10, most of which were routes and cost around $56.95 in former bundles, like the Chinese Edition Bundle as I mentioned earlier. For example here's the cost of the GWR Bundle for me, as you can see lots here I want that are on my wishlist but the price of the bundle is too high for me to consider purchasing. I'm better off waiting for a sale. A shame too as I was excited when I heard about these new bundles.
Me as well. The Riviera Line in particular is one of my favourites (it’s the area I‘m originally from). Certainly route building has improved since it was released, but these two routes are both very playable and recognisable.
