Hi everyone The British Rail Class 50 is a class of diesel locomotives designed to haul express passenger trains at 100 mph (160 km/h). Built by English Electric at the Vulcan Foundry in Newton-le-Willows between 1967 and 1968, the Class 50s were initially on a 10-year lease from English Electric Leasing, and were employed hauling express passenger trains on the, then non-electrified, section of the West Coast Main Line between Crewe and Scotland. Once the electrification from Crewe to Glasgow was completed the locomotives were moved to the Great Western Main Line (GWML) out of Paddington to allow the retirement of most of the remaining diesel-hydraulic locomotives then in use. I think this would be a good addition as they are popular among rail enthusiasts and it would be nice to have it in the game especially for the west Cornwall route as they worked down there back in BR days.
I would like to see 50s come with a 70s or 80s riviera line from Exeter to Plymouth and Paignton as most of the other stock is in game already and the 50s would be great to take along the coast there. Seeing as the era of WCL is about as clear as mud it could then provide itself as a layer there. Great suggestion mate!
Class 50 with Salisbury to Exeter then layered onto WCL and GWE as necessary. And don't forget the Smarties collectibles!
