I’m sure we’re all aware of the fast growing inclusion of 3rd parties to tsw, but how long will it be until a 3rd party developer makes a route for the annual summer release? Dtg summer releases always sound promising, but often underdeliver. Is it time to let a 3rd party dev be a major part of the summer release?
Well that’s my point basically, or have I misread the original post. Because DTG underdelivers what about using 3rd party’s.
More people buy the summer release than regular dlc, so it’s more income for a contributing 3rd party
At the moment I think 3rd parties need to focus on their quality of route building and ironing out the bugs and stuff really before moving onto something bigger in my opinion
DTG already use the 3rd parties as contractors for DLC including the summer releases. I would have thought this was equally beneficial to the 3rd parties as they'll get paid regardless with no (or little) commercial risk surely.
Indeed. There was a rumour in the Glossop thread though no source when requested, that Rivet had actually created that route. Guess we will never know for sure but it kind of falls in their purview of being a shorter route, while whatever builders DTG have working in house focus on the larger stuff.
Was said by Train Sim TV in their glossop video, who I think are to do with JT not sure how much/little they did though
