I thought I'd make a slightly positive thread as like many I've been a little critical about the amount of cancelled streams and dwindling stream schedule recently.

But watching the WSR stream tonight was a welcome breath of fresh air. DTG Alex and Joe did a great job. It felt similar to the good old Rail Fan Podcasts Sam used to do but with a good old bit of TSW in the background.

I thought Alex did a great job of hosting and was good to see him driving too! Joe was fantastic as well talking about some of the WSR history and his experiences with railways and it was just a pleasure to listen too and I'd love more of the same on different subjects if at all possible.

I think it's the closest we've had to a Sam style Podcast and good old lets play stream for a while and it was really good to see, Just playing TSW and talking about railways! :)

Any hints if we might be getting a steam pack for WSR? A Hall and/or Pannier?

    Nothing mentioned unfortunately :(
But a pannier especially would be great!

Really miss the regular streams we used to get from Matt, no offence but not at all interested in the “ambassadors” except perhaps Dadrail who actually drives the real things. To me the only reasons to watch a stream are official content showcases, to learn something such as the occasional snippets of “behind the scenes” info Matt gives out, or professional advice on how to actually drive trains. It’s the same for flight simming; there’s a ton of streamers out there, but the only ones actually worth watching are the real pilots from whom one can learn how it’s done.

I definitely agree, part of why I also love Dadrails content. The stream tonight was great because they had Joe who was involved as a volunteer and was employed by WSR. Even though he wasn't a driver or loco crew the history and stuff about the route made a great stream :)

Thank you for the post coursetim - What a great way to start the morning and I'm really glad you enjoyed the stream - it's great to see positive feedback so I can plan more of this type of content! :)

I think Joe was fantastic and if you're interested in the WSR, here's a link to our segment of the video:
