Well I hope the dodgy few signals and TPWS/AWS issues are fixed in this patch. We've waited long enough for this. Apart from these issues the route is fine, but the signalling issues spoil the immersion somewhat for me.

I agree, and, reading the comments from james64 I do think people have very different experiences of the route (maybe to do with playing on different platforms - I don't know). I've never had it crash, and really the only issue I have with it is the TPWS activations and the incorrectly signalled approaches to some of the junctions. Once those are fixed, it's pretty much there for me - but clearly if others are experiencing crashes they're going to want that to be addressed too.

Aren't most of the individuals who are experiencing crash on console? I know on PC a crash has never happened to me on this route, just the signal problems, which should be fixed once the patch makes it through DTG.

I believe the crashes are on ps as I am on xbox series s and my only major complaints currently are the TPWS and areas of dodgy signalling, with the rest of the route up there in my top three with NTP and TVL.

Yes, I agree. I’m on Xbox series x and no crashes for me. Hopefully safety features and signalling will be sorted by the long await patch. Its also is in my top three, along with TVL and GWR. ;)

I'm on ps4 pro (so 8 gen) and i have had the game crash on EVERY class 43/HST service on the final approach to Nottingham, and approx. 50% of the time with class 158 on the final approach to Nottingham.

the HST is, for me on ps4 pro at least, undriveable on Leicester-Nottingham routes as it crashes without fail every time.. although all other routes (including outbound from Nottingham) have worked fine so far.. it's the final approach INTO Nottingham where mine crashes constantly

The console versions were ported by DTG, so Skyhook have no direct responsibility over anything other than the PC version.

I think it's nice that you guys actually communicate with the customers. Something that doesn't seem to be as common with other game developers. I see that several issues have to be addressed but, this game is pretty cool. I never knew there was a train simulation game! All the train details, and you get to learn something. It's nice to see games that aren't just shooting all the time.

it may be that that Skyhook cannot afford to drop any income as what they are doing now on remedial work must be quite expensive.

If only DTG could care about fixing it’s past buggy routes like SHG does

That is odd as I am sure we have just had a patch fixing bugs, maybe I was mistaken and I am sure it wasn't the first!

I am sure it isn't that they don't care though, that would be pretty silly if they had that attitude. Why they haven't fixed that bug I don't know, maybe they are planning to fix it if/when they do other work on the route. I imagine it is very low down on their list of priorities, it is more annoying rather than game breaking. Although I agree it should be fixed.

I don’t know man, it’s quite immersion breaking, not only that there is the issues with NYT, etc. HST livery designer functionality

It must be PlayStation crashing the most then, judging by my experiences as well as a couple of posts above.

I'm not playing this route until we're assured it's stable. Any other fixes can just wait. I just wanna drive on it with peace of mind.

Since the update for MML on.the PS5 I haven't had it crash on me. So far the only problem I have had is the signalling glitches. Thats it. However thats not to say It will never crash again. Just holding my breath at the moment.

Quick Monday update: Current plan is the next tranche of MML improvements will come in the next patch we release (going through QA at the moment).
    • TPWS should now only activate when matching train direction – notably around Mountsorrel and Nottingham C-Line
    • HST and MK3 numbering and lettering improvements - EDIT - this failed testing, so has been sent back.
    • ‘Can’t Make Your Mind Up’ scenario should now be completable
    • Poster at Leicester station should now be accessible
    • Updated PIS at stations
    • Updated PIS font on Class 158

Nothing about PS5 hard crashes. Worrying that they’ll still be present over 2 months later.
It’s 50/50 driving any service into Nottingham whether you actually manage to compete it.

Actually stopped playing the route a while back due to fear of wasting 30 mins of my time.

If you have time I’d be grateful if you could try this HST service 1D57 (part 1) London to Derby.
Still crashes on PS5 post patch 1.
It’s a London to Derby service via Nottingham. Part 1 is to Nottingham and Part 2 from Nottingham to Derby. Never made it to Nottingham. Crashes every single time.

All other games (and TSW DLC) work fine so it’s
    not my PS5

Is any progress being made with regards to frequent crashing on Playstation? I've had to submit at least three reports on this thread, and those haven't been the only crashes. It's not just me suffering from these issues. The last patch did nothing to fix stability, which should always be the first priority.

Ouch. I was under the impression only PS5 was affected by the crashing. Hearing this has made the chance of a purchase go down to 0%, I obviously can’t buy a route that crashes during almost every service.

As also noted several times in this thread, the PlayStation crashes are due to wonky art assets that were present in the original release, and were supposed to be among the many things fixed by the first patch. Due to problems with a file versioning tool at DTG, a subset of these fixes failed to make it through on all platforms - but a different subset per platform. The wonky art assets are the most obvious thing that got lost from the PlayStation patch. Different problems are leftover on the PC.

Much of the bellyaching in the past couple of weeks has stemmed from a desire to see DTG sort out the mess that is not of SHG's making, because the files got messed up on their watch. Without that, we would have had all the fixes from the first patch on all platforms by now.

Instead, it now looks as though we will have to wait for the second patch to go through QA and hope that there isn't another mess-up.

Hopefully those dodgy signals are updated (the ones with the incorrect ground shunt signals added) plus the approach control corrected at a couple of junctions.

Also I hope the AWS at a number of locations are directionally corrected (I'm hoping the TPWS includes AWS in the statement by JD above)..

I'd rather these issues are fixed than a poster becoming accessible.

antony.henley Can confirm that more often than not for me it is crashing on PS5 back to the PS Menu. Fingers crossed the issue is one in the patch and has just not been specifically called out. Missing PIS boards etc I can definitely deal with for now

    Patch releasing today.

Midland Main Line fixes. (there are more for other routes see the DTL Announcements forum).

TPWS should now only activate when matching train direction – notably around Mountsorrel and Nottingham C-Line
Train should not automatically brake as you pass the entry line turnout on the Down Fast Line
Driving 1C20 past Mountsorrel with a green signal should not activate TPWS
Reimplemented the 158 driver guard system.
    • HST and MK3 numbering and lettering improvements - A fix was attempted but didn't work as intended with this patch, we will look to address this in a future patch
‘Can’t Make Your Mind Up’ scenario should now be completable
Poster at Leicester station should now be accessible
Updated PIS at stations to correctly display operating services
Updated PIS font on Class 158
Updated Class 43 RVM to cut in the DVD Service when both the Vigilance and DSD switches are not isolated.
Tail Lamps should now be present on the rear of all ROG 37 or freight services (note: Rail Head Treatment Trains have not had this applied.)
    Localisation fixes and changes.

I definitely haven't had the MML HST numbering/lettering fixes on PC. All coaches are still displaying 'A' and the power car number. I see they've fixed the coach numbering/lettering on the GWE HST but the power cars still display 00000...

Would love some daytime freight with the class 66.
I'm not that keen on driving in the middle of the night. It's dark and there are hardly any other trains running.

We have multiple ballast wagons that can be used for daytime freights and the intermodals can often be seen diverted through.

The peak railtour is a nice addition however it has no brake coach and no taillights. Could this be fixed?

Can confirm, after a 953.3mb patch the Mk3 numbering is still wrong. Haven’t had chance to look at anything else but that is enough.

DTG JD, are we being trolled here? You would rather hope that ‘being awake’ was part of the QA job description. How can this be wrong again?

Not as far as I can see - on my PC (patch applied via Steam this lunchtime) at least both power cars and all the Mk3s are the same number...

I’m sure if you go back through the last 40-odd pages the HST numbering was one of the first things that was touted as fixed. If it hasn’t been included intentionally then surely we should be told why. If it’s missed out by virtue of a mistake then someone needs a rocket lighting under them.

Just to remind everyone, this DLC released on April 18th. It’s now July 4th.

There is a caveat on the patch notes regarding the HST numbering, a fix wasn't working as intended and another attempt will be made in a future patch.

It is annoying as it is immersion breaking although at least they are aware of it.

I agree that it's quite off-putting once one is aware of the numbering issue. What I don't understand is how in the world it can be fixed and deemed working by SHG, then is sent to the "QA" (air quotes) section at DTG and gets fubar'd prior to release in a hotfix. A second time.

Numbering was said to be ‘sorted’ on May 9th.

For somehow I don't have the patch on my ps5 I looked on livery designer and no GWG HST could be found and no PIS fixes could be found on the 158 so have they forgotten about playstation?

I don't know, the inner workings of computer games are a dark art to me. Maybe something else corrupted it or something. At least we have most of the patch now.

To err is human, to really mess things up, requires a computer!

hi sadler_owls . I ran 1D57 on the PS5 and 478 yards from my stop at Nottingham the PS5 went Nope and crashed to the desktop. I have submitted the error report off to Sony who in Due Course will send it on to Matt and the team, Not sure if Matt gets them or they are collated at DTG Towers and sent to his in tray...

As a note this was pre patch (04/07/2023) installation. Will try again after the patch is released (as of yet its yet to his the PS5.
