There is definitely a difference between the sound pack and the 700 preview, I just listened to it and I can tell you with 100% confidence that the train in TSW sound more like a 350 than a 450/444 listen at 2:36 to see what I mean For even more reference listen to the 350 AP sounds from 2:40
No you should get the full timetable. I would suspect this would be Series S and possible gen 8 Hentis
Any update on the second recording session for the class 385 & when this is being implemented will Rivet also fix the other outstanding issues?
Doh - that fixed it, thanks JD! I had loads of pressure that I didn't need, as near to the end, but I guess closing the dampers put the fire out then. Is that realistic I wonder ? Or perhaps I need to stop using Manual firing until it's properly released. There still is an issue with stop markers behind red signals mid journey, I believe. Thanks JD & Matt and whoever else is prepping for the stream.
I want to ask a question regarding the SEHS timetable situation: It seems there is a memory-intense timetable now on SEHS with the 700 now being added and the example in the Roadmap regarding the issue was an Xbox Series S, which is a Gen 9 console, which I find surprising as often it handles better than your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One so how are those consoles looking in terms of memory? Is it looking worse or better than Gen 9 and what static stock/less visible AI is being removed (I'm assuming static wagons at Hoo Junction and Medway Valley Line AI at Strood, maybe North Kent Line AI at Dartford?) I would appreciate any response on here or on the stream if possible please as this is a very good talking point to discuss DTG JD
Are you thinking about updating the Southeastern High Speed Extended’s Class 66 updated horn to Class 66 old horn in Great Western Express & East Coastway routes via Armstrong Powerhouse in the future?
Re: Trenton, could you also please address the AI pantographs down issue? Is a fix for this forthcoming soon? Not until the timetable update? Not even then...?
No, this has been confirmed many times. Disappointing, but at least for the time being we'll have to live with it.
DTG JD Please enlighten me, are you suggesting that if I buy the class 700 and want to use a full timetable with all the static AI services on my Xbox Series S, will this be optional to turn on or keep off in the menu, or is it forced off? Basically the roadmap states there will be less AI stock etc but I feel that removes the immersion within game if I do not get an option to run it as that and decide for myself. I don't fully trust DTG's testing, especially since the GWE and MML updates were released, so please update me on this.
on the live they said any platform can use any timetable and on platforms that it may cause issues on it will pop up with a warning but you can still use it regardless, just at your own risk of something happening i guess
Yes, both timetables will be available for you to select at your discretion. Journey Mode will have the slightly reduced timetable though as that option isn't there and the timetable needs to be consistent across platforms. (We're working through how possible this will be for launch, and will update).
So I've just been reading through road map and just trains update.key stand outs., my speculating from below is Holiday destination Roller coaster ride It's deffo Blackpool ( though it could be skeg Vegas )
Before you get any ideas mate dont be asking for this 6 coach express and 2 coach donkey multiple unit to tick your Skegness sim boxes
ROFLOL, my soapbox is alive and kicking. I would hope we get some reskinned blue/grey Mark Ones for the loco hauled services, but failing that hope JT are savvy enough to ensure the consists have a brake vehicle.
Name a more iconic duo than Vern and Buffet cars It'd be nice to get some reskinned mk1s but I have a funny feeling as the pacer will probably be the traction we may end up subbing in from ntp stock again. Still will be interesting to see the list of layers etc
Fond memories of the 0615 from Inverness to Wick sat in the RMB which formed part of the Wick portion, for nearly five hours. Not to mention the gourmet breakfast of pork pie, Mr Kipling apple pie and scalding hot Maxpax tea! Come on DTG Matt I am desperate for my buffet car…
This is the legacy OldVern has created and will be remembered for many years for (along with his purchase/refund/rebuy history) . I sometimes feel like I've hacked his steam wallet having so much knowledge of it
Actually my refund record is getting better. Of the recent items I purchased only Luzern to Sursee went back to the shop! Glossop has remained in my collection, the revamped 1938 stock is marvellous. The HB bundle stuff can't be refunded but again enjoying Lubeck, BCC and even LIRR far more than I thought. Anyhow, I await the call down to DTG Towers for my motion capture as the RMB buffet car attendant (god help anyone seeing my ugly mug) and service with a snarl, "Yeah, what you want?"
I would like to see some reskinned mark 1's. It is irritating having the BG as the only BR period brake vehicle. Hopefully they will at least have a brake vehicle as that will completely immersion breaking without one.
Interesting to hear you say that. I'm always sceptical where Rivet are concerned, but old electrics always intrigue me. The patch notes seem promising. Would you recommend the 38 stock in the current condition? Does it share the wheel-slip problem of the IoW units?
Yes the wheelslip is still present at around 10 to 13 MPH but only briefly. Plus there still isn’t much in the way of traction run down (rheostatic) sound when braking. But they have come up with trumps with the track sound and I’m convinced there is reverb in the tunnels, too.
Would just like to correct what DTG Matt said in the roadmap stream last night that 700/0s don't run on the BML. They do, in small numbers. Here is one sitting at Brighton
He meant in the game not in real life. He knows they do but because the BML timetable is so packed they couldn’t add it.
yea again I don't buy it. And that's an excuse that doesn't hold any water.. they have don't many other routes and used a suitable substitute loco in its place. Take BRO using the 612, I think there are other german routes which they have used a sub, london commuter not having the 455, initially east coast not having the 313, original sehs not having the 700 used southeastern 375. plus even the 377 on southern. In NYT they are going to use the ALP 46 for all electric NJT services. So in this case the 700/0 and 700/1 is as close as you are going to a perfect sub.
It is still quite possible the big summer release involves the 700 and they don't want to impinge on that. But I agree a bit of licence could be taken to put them on BML in the meantime.
Id doubt that such an in demand train will be confined only to Sehs on release. I think they'll be a new playground at some point for it
The 700/0 is not on BML for no other reason than it currently won't fit memory. Simple as that. Everything else is honestly fluff.
DTG Matt is it possible to have another timetable created to include the 700/0 by removing layers like the 375 diversion services, the HST, and the 313. This is similar to what was done in other routes like bakerloo, kohl, rapid transit. So players would be able to pick the regular timetable and the new timetable that includes the 700/0. That way everyone one wins
I would of thought the new gen consoles would handle the 700 on the bml but it could be something different that might cause problems to adding it on there
As a PC player with plenty of memory available; I would also like to know the answer to this. We've been told repeatedly since the console versions launched that they would not hold back the PC version in any way....but we are now getting mixed messages. If this limitation is caused by still being on UE4, maybe we are overdue moving to UE5
Agreed. I would absolutely love to know why it wouldn't be possible to duplicate the timetable, as you are doing with SEHS, and remove the HST layer (which has more unique vehicles than the 700) and the 375 and 313 layers if necessary, to make way for a small number of 700/0 services?
I think these are reasonable questions even if there are good reasons why not - adding my voice to the chorus politely asking for a little deeper explanation. In addition to these, if it's a memory problem for old consoles only, what would be stopping DTG from bringing the 700 to new consoles / PC (delete as appropriate)? Thanks
I imagine Series X, PS5 and higher end PC's would be fine. Lower end pc's and the series S are the main challenge really. I don't have a way to make a timetable currently for higher end PC's that doesn't then become a fail-city on series S - a technical limitation i'm seeking to address. The other challenge is the good old time factor. London Brighton has by far, by FAR, the most intensive timetable - as has been said previously, at around 4,500 services - and that ultimately becomes its achilleas heel for new services because doing just about anything on that timetable no matter how small, is a long tedious task and if anything goes wrong, it rapidly becomes days and days. I'm not ruling out that we don't put the 700 on the BML route at some point but... I also don't want to get anyones hopes up, as I don't know when (or if) that will end up happening. Lots of things to do. Dangit. i've PZB'd twice now writing this post Matt.
Fair comment. If its any consolation I've just driven from Brighton to Victoria, phone goes off just as I'm pulling into London, so I look down to see who had called and I've only blooming spanked the buffer stops and derailed (now where are these checkpoints ). I now need to go and have strong words with a friend who has disrupted my journey mode time, if he is bailing on a night out tomorrow there's a friendship to revaluate (along with why you don't drive and look at your phone)
