the route will feature the Class 91 , Class 800 , Class 801 , Class 387 and Class 700. Stops are. London Kings Cross. Stevenage. Peterborough. And York. The other section is Darlington. Doncaster. Durham. Newcastle. Berwick-Upon-Tweed. Edinburgh Haymarket and Edinburgh Waverley. This links the border region to Scotland. The ECML will be a good route to have in store for all of the players. Did you know that Kings Cross , Edinburgh Haymarket , and Grantham are in the Roblox Game called Stepford County Railway since Version 1.8.0. SCR is currently on 1.10.7

Sorry but we're never going to get the entire ECML in one go, it's far too long and complex, you'd be better of suggesting a section of it that's more manageable to develop in a reasonable amount of time say 'London - Peterborough' for example.

Why do we keep getting these requests for impractical long routes. People should really think what they’re asking for before posting. And there are enough active ECML “I wanna, wahhh” threads to tag a post to rather than start another new thread.

    1. Not an Extension
    2. Try cutting that down, say, 300 miles.
    3. You missed most of the stations on the line
    4. You'd only have rolling stock for LNER and London local trains - it would need Northern, ScotRail, etc. to feel alive
    5. SCR fan detected...

There'll not be extensions. Has been stated multiple times. SEHS was an exception (and a complete rework, being DTG's home route).

And besides, you can't extend a route that does not yet exist.

I might be imagining it, but I'm pretty sure the OP (or someone acting very similar) claimed that it was an "extension" because the ECML already exists in the game......as the ~several hundred yards of track just north of St Pancras on SEHS

Don't forget Edinburgh Waverley and Darlington stations: they add a few hundred more yards! ;);)

We could probably get London -Peterborough or Peterborough to York, but with how DTG is I doubt we would even get that

Actually that does ring a bell - something like "we've got the start and the end, now just need the little bit in the middle sorted out"

EDIT - wasn't the OP, and was the WCML rather than the ECML but the same sentiment

This route is literally too long to be added. We could add a section but no way we add the entire thing.

Well if it was going to be made a route it would be Kings X-Peterborough

I agree or we'll get London to York and if we're lucky we'll get a Leeds in it too or just an extension to that in the future.

No! London to York is too far. By comparison with recent route releases, lucky if we got Kings Cross to Stevenage.

Well, that's not enough to give a decent run, so would be disappointing if so.

If it happens then it would be another GWE.

Oh I agree. If it's going to be done, then it needs to be done properly and resources thrown at it - even if it comes out slightly more expensive. Although I would prefer a retro ECML with Deltics etc., a modern version with the 700, a 387 and you got to have a 8xx Knotweed in there too is going to sell like a hot cake.

No Vern, looking at previous releases Welwyn GC to Sandy is more likely.

SCR is way shorter and doesn't include the real life stations just a replica and SCR is just bad tbh

Plus being a Roblox game, Scr is far less realistic and detailed.

PFR seems to have paid off and it's start/end points are just as random. It's more likely than the full Kings X to Edinburgh.

MML is Skyhook, though, not DTG.

What "ahem MML" ? I'm not aware MML is an extension. And as for what is promised - I only believe when it's there. The whole MML/Skyhook thing has become very suspicious to me.

Indeed. I have not read what Jane from SHG has put as an undertaking to extend the existing route mileage (Sheffield, Kettering or whatever), but to utilise those elements already included - the power station, Toton Yard etc. Happy to be proved otherwise of course.

Obviously to Edinburgh is unrealistic, but to Peterborough is a good place to start, 77 miles, Loads of services, and DTG have almost all the licenses for the trains that run there, a proper 125 British mainline as well, with the 225 and a few other trains that people request for

Just to check you do realise my whole Welwyn GC to sandy comment was pumped with sarcasm don't you? But yes the ECML would be great to have, though I think Peterborough to York or Donny would be my prefered section and is definitely the section I prefer in real life.

They said they are planning to expand on the Midland Mainline. That could quite easily mean "we'll use the trains and assets we have to build on it, and expand on the MML Collection with a new route", just as much as it could mean "extension."

Jane's OP in the Wishlist certainly seemed to imply to former.

They've always gone as far as Peterborough going back the original train simulator games of the series as it has always been Kings X to Peterborough which will be likely most certain for us especially if it's a good time to introduce the ICC 225 Class 91 to the Train Sim World series.

Fingers cross though we can hope as they the already have this route from the other train simulator games as if we have to wait longer for the route then so be it also it would be perfect for the legendary ICC 225 introduction whether it's BR era or modern LNER as now we already models for the 365, 377, Thameslink 700/0, 801 series and Class 43 HST VP oh well only time will tell just can pray I guess.

This route being in the other game (TSC) makes no difference.
London - Edinburgh will never happen in one go.
London - Peterborough? Probably not for a while yet.

As I said all we can is hope and the BR era 90s era would be easier in regards to licensing.

Licensing isn't the issue. And "hope" translates to 'delusion', when it comes to this.

It's not up to me. It's up to literally everything dovetail do.
There is not a chance in hell that London - Edinburgh will be one route. Not in this franchise's lifespan.

Point still stands. Plus, the OP was about London - Edinburgh and I previously mentioned it to you, and you continued to counter my point based on those comments.

I don't care whether your point stands or not since you're a pretty rude fellow besides and if you were an employee of Dovetail fair enough but you ain't. If you don't like my countering of your points then get yourself a lawyer.

You haven't countered them whatsoever, nor have I been rude. You just can't handle disagreement. Ironic, that you claimed I couldn't do such.
London - Edinburgh, as the OP suggests, is impossible. Virtually everyone agrees to that, and Dovetail have no way of doing that.
London - Peterborough, using all other DLC as a comparison, also looks unlikely. It's around 76 miles with 24+ stations, and that's only including the mainline. The Hereford Loop line would be a huge missing part of the line if excluded, and the Northern City Line and Thameslink to St. Pancras feel like obvious additions.
But for its length and station count, it's very unlikely.
As for the rolling stock, the route realistically needs 3 TOCs: LNER, Great Northern, and Thameslink, backdate and you could have FCC with VTEC or, play with the eras, FCC and LNER.
Regardless of TOCs, there's loads of rolling stock to be made.
    For LNER:
    - HST
    - 800/801
    - 90 (InterCity 225)
    For GN:
    - 717
    - 387
    - All FCC stock that transferred to GN
    For Thameslink
    - 700

Now whilst it doesn't require all of that list, you're still staring down the barrel of 2-3 new/modified trains, and even then it would feel quiet.

All of those factors are why ECMLS is unlikely in such a form. It could happen, I would love to see it happen, however it's a distant dream based on where TSW currently stands. It's beyond the realms of hope, I would argue.

P.S. - You have not offered a single rebuttal that hasn't been:
"All we can do is hope" (not a counterpoint by any definition)
"It's not up to you" (didn't say it was)
"they could do [era] to avoid licensing issues" (licensing isn't the problem)

And, as everyone does when fighting a losing battle, they resort to name-calling ("you're a pretty rude fellow"), instead of providing an arguement to support their point. Or giving up before it goes south.

What did you say when I mentioned licensing "delusional" so you started this as if you never said anything like that then it wouldn't of made it this far as you sound like one who is pretty arrogant in general.

ECMLS should be achievable at some point ok there is much more going on in the background with tree, scenery and on until after Stevenage but even it takes a year to do then so be it. All I hope is Microsoft or some big company buys this company out then gives dovetail all the resources they need to achieve more as they've done pretty well so far I say and classic TS still lives up to today as I went back to that again.

Nothing is impossible it will probably take them a while but they will find a way to extend the routes further on this engine someday as someone talented will find a way to crack it.

I find it to be extremely unlikely that a big company like Microsoft will ever want to buy Dtg considering that Dtg's products serve niche markets and even if they did there is no guarantee that they would provide Dtg with extra resources, besides Dtg was only recently acquired by Focus studios anyway.
