Got a link to that or is it just hearsay/ As a Beta tester and ambassador he'll be tied to NDAs, so Id be very surprise if this was the case, even in jest.
I'm happy with 3, well kind of. It's not perfect, certainly not on PS5 but it's getting there. I already feel short changed on TSW3 though if I'm being honest as a transition from 2 I was expecting more. The fact that the dlc price has gone up with only minor improvement is a bit ridiculous also putting the price up on previous dlc that was cheaper last generation is just mean. Nah I'll pass if indeed it does happen, which no doubt it will. The old cash cow needs to be milked.
I haven't seen many updates of late and dlc seems to be less frequent. It's almost inevitable in time.
I'm still a big fan of the older routes just enjoyed a run on Oakville. For me an underrated route. Runs like a dream on next gen.
Yea have to also mentioned the complete statement, comment…… “TSW 4 is coming you heard it… is official……much in the same way PS6 is coming and then probably PlayStation 7.” So I would take his comment, statement with a grain of salt……….he’s just having a little fun.
I am a spammer? Moving on, if DadRail has “blabbed” then I suspect he won’t be an Ambassador or favoured recipient of pre release copies for review purposes, much longer.
Scenario planner is awesome. Can create some good scenarios without too many issues. Considering the complexity of the game and Unreal licensing where royalties are due, I think it is only fair to pay for a decent upgrade. TSW3 is gorgeous and deserved to be a paid upgrade. You buy the game on face value. A lot of people wouldn't be here if they didn't enjoy it. For those that don't and hope to someday see it become 'perfect' or get to your standards, well if money could be raised to hire more staff I guess they could achieve it quicker. For those that want something free all the time, the best you'll get is the sales. You can get stuff for under USD$10. And Bakerloo line is amazing. Oh and LGV French high speed route which is one of my favourites was free back in May. So DTG are quite generous even though you will never hear that from some here. Rumours are a new editor is on the way. Australian route. American freight by the end of the year (my speculation mostly but there is a pattern that seems to support this) or in the 3 pack core release/upgrade. British route WCML or similar mainline. For me it was a dream come true to have the Kassel Wurzberg route come out last September with almost 200km (186km) of route length. Some did complain about the lack of detail but for me at 150kph or above it is quite generous. Cajon Pass is amazing too. SEHS is by far DTGs most popular route and Spirit of Steam won acclaim as well although it had some bugs. For the high complexity this is not unusual. These guys and girls in the UK that do this work do an outstanding job and more often than not do not get much appreciation from those of us who really enjoy the content. Thank you DTG! 3d modelling aint easy and putting together applications to run train sim world aint easy. If it was everyone would be doing it. ROFL
Considering how limited the scenario planner is I'm surprised you can say that unironically. The best TSW scenario made in the scenario planner is an average Train Simulator scenario at best, solely because of how few features there are to play with. No weather, no freight loading and unloading, very limited paths to use, no use of portals, etcetera. Sorry but this is utter rubbish. There is no universe where the upgrades DTG have made to TSW have ever justified a paid upgrade that players have to do to get fixes for bugs that shouldn't have existed in the first place, or access to routes that are not much better than the ones released five years ago. DTG are not generous in TSW in any way. Remember that DTG have been releasing yearly upgrades for Train Simulator for free since it came out. TS now is a significantly different game than it was in 2009 - a completely new lighting engine, new weather simulation, volumetric clouds, advanced scripting and more have been added to the game for free. And in other rumours, pigs can now fly. And the evidence for this is... Where?
Of course TSW4 is coming, he didn't say when. We all know it's coming. Same as me saying the PS6 is coming. Sure it is, but when.
I guess everyone is just a bit on edge following things getting a bit out of control over the weekend. Anyhow apologies offered to DadRail (if he lurks here) for implying anything improper might have occurred. And now back to our regular scheduled speculation!
Talking about Speculation I made a thread for MML vs ECML for 700. fun times ahead https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/mml-vs-ecml-for-thameslink-700s.71448/#post-675905
If I pay $60-$70 for TSW4 and still have cars driving through my train and through each other, NPCs lifting off their seats or walking into fences, stutter (because of non-optimization), floating trees and hills, unexplained impassible red lights and [add your own here]; then all I am left with is having to save up for TSW5. Right? PC Ryzen 7 RTX 3060
And it is coming sooner than you think.................. FFS, calm down. If you haven't got a sense of humour that isn't Vern's or anyones fault bar your own You got nowt to apologise for mate. Dadrail himself would have seen the joke I'm sure.
Just to pick up on this - don't forget that Skyhook also develops games by themselves. It may be that they want to create more lawn mowers in UE5. It might be that they anticipate a UE version change of TSW in future - because at some point DTG will of course go for UE5. They have, just to make sure their devs are up to date and they're still competitive. But it doesn't prove that these changes come this year, if TSW4 releases. It might be more something for TSW 5-ish.
also how long will Epic themselves actually support UE4 ? maybe a few more years but I suspect in maybe 3 years or so they may drop support and try to get people on UE5. I think they will switch over eventually but may be worked on in the background until its ready while they release new TSW games in the meantime
Might be wrong there, but didn't they stop support already ? If I read it correctly on the net, the latest version of Unreal 4 is 4.27.2 and from 2021. So they stopped support already I think ?
Which is not widely spoken here. This is an English language forum, if you are unable or unwilling to converse in anything other than French then you need to find a forum that suits your needs. Or swallow your pride and use Google Translate .
It is one of my biggest peeves that the only thing I have the option to hide are the next signal/next speed limit HUD displays when, frankly, those are the only elements of the HUD I want to use besides maybe the next objective/clock element to the top left. Being able to toggle each individual element of the HUD is a must for immersion, realism, and accessibility, imo, and I see no reason why it hasn't been implemented yet.
You can remove MOST elements of the HUD individually using either keyboard shortcuts OR through the settings menu. The only one that you can't remove individually is the next objective/time bar in the top left. You can still remove it by hitting F1 or long pressing the start button on console, which will remove the entire HUD.
Once again proven wrong on the forums... You made my day, though, this is awesome! I can't believe I hadn't seen those before now. Quite literally exactly what I was describing
You can individually turn off the upcoming signal & speed thingy on the top right. That's the way I drive all the time !
That, I've been aware of for a while thanks to it being in the HUD settings menu. But thank you. Those are the two actually useful pieces of info for me in the HUD other than the time and distance to next waypoint/current objective. I'm still going to take the standpoint that it's misleading to have menu options and keybinds for two HUD elements but only keybinds for the rest. I use mouse controls for all driving other than the camera, horn, and sometimes throttle and/or brakes if they're in an awkward position (looking at you, Electrostars!) and they're exactly the same as they were on my first train sim (TRS2006) so I didn't have to dig through keyboard commands to operate any of the locomotives due to how I personally play the game. With that, I simply never investigated the "Locomotive" keyboard shortcuts so even though I've been playing since HH I only just found about about this. Am I ignorant at times? Yes. But is this even referenced in the manual? No(!). It isn't an unreasonable mistake to make and it seems like a 1-stop fix if it's already implemented as a keyboard shortcut. DTG Matt DTG JD I'm not looking for a comment on the thread topic here but if you could look into putting the other HUD options in the HUD settings submenu it'd be a huge QOL boost and I'm sure it'd be much appreciated by people like me Edit: well, and I use keyboard for AWS, the bell/guard buzzer, sometimes the reverser, and to make the HUD completely go away for screenshots and to take said screenshots, but you get what I mean.
There’s no need to insult, if you’re upset because it’s hard for you to understand that you have to use a translator then we can’t help you, it’s sunny today you can enjoy that beautiful day outside don’t you think ?
You're right about some options only being available on keyboard and I've suggested before the BEST way (I can think of) to expose the HUD customization is to slap the HUD in your face and you just click on and off the elements you want to see on screen. It makes it more intuitive for the user and should work with both mouse/keyboard and controller. There is also other HUD options in Accessibility such as cursor customization and speedometer size that can be useful.
It literally translates as “Yes, French here”, but I’m pretty sure they mean “Yes French is spoken here too”, in other words they seem to think this is a multilingual forum (French is fortunately my second language). Désolé truttmann, il faut discuter en anglais dans ces forums, mais il existe des forums TSW francophones non officiels ailleurs si tu cherches.
I just ran it through translate, and that’s what came back, and going by “tg” I think they seem to be more of a spammer than anything else but I could be wrong.
Would it be possible that a new feature that this new core update or TSW4 is going to have is having to separate the Gen 8 and Gen 9 timetables, maybe a layer toggle switch. I don't see DTG dropping Gen 8 but rather be able to support them separately. I can't see them just dropping Gen 8. Just a speculation
Go ahead it’s not like we’re missing something trying to communicate with that member, even in my mother tongue I can’t understand what he says…
I'm quite happy to run through Google Translate if someone genuinely wants help and can't speak English but they just seem to be spamming. And even though I don't speak much French myself, I have always enjoyed travelling in France and the French people who were always very friendly and helpful despite my butchering the language...
