Locomotives, yes. But passenger coaches or freight wagons? Nada. Why not? Especially on passenger coaches, since the loaded/unloaded glitch is not a factor.
Same on UK routes as well. Locos will spawn with the custom liveries but no carriages. I'd love for that to happen
I think the Dostos (at least from HBK) have it. But no other passenger coach. For freight, i think i've seen people with random liveries for the DRA Zacns, but it never happened to may. It may look odd to have different liveries on passenger trains, if you know the trains from real life. But especially when it comes to freight cars, they should really spawn more often.
Really? When you have as much rolling stock as Deutsche (Bundes)Bahn, it doesn't all get painted in a hurry. Like this one- Sometime after 1997, still wearing the chrome oxide green that was supposedly replaced over 20 years before! It's true that today DB presents a solid face of Verkehrsrot- but that's after a quarter-century. The 1990s in particular weren't so uniform. ---------------------------------- *In the second picture, note the prewar DRG coach!
I wouldn't be surprised if the wonderful "licensing" word played a part in the answer. Each license holder could stipulate certain Ts&Cs...
For Mainz-Koblenz, yes pleas! Would be great to have the intercitys in red, paired with IR coaches etc. But for modern timetables it would look very odd.
I highly doubt it is due to licencing, or if it is even intentional, as american freight trains also barely spawn in custom liveries. And Matt has even confirmed several times that it is not intentional and could be fixed simply by ticking some checkboxes. As to why such a small and easy to fix thing has still not been addressed? I assume for the same reason the TSW2 fixes have not been released for more than a year now...
My plan had been to do a set of older-but-still-around liveries for LRS and Niddertal: Silberling/Ozeanblau coach and cab car, maybe also with the earlier black-rail and orange flashes versions; ozeanblau and kobaltblau 110s, IC coaches in beige/red TEE and also the brand new (in '97) verkehrsrot window band. But the no-spawning issue has brought all that to a halt.
Out of curiosity, are you still planning on publishing that Silberling? It looks amazing and would be good for custom scenarios if nothing else. Didn’t think you’d get this close in livery designer!
I saw a custom livery (CC) freight wagon spawn in on Bremen Oldenburg just outside of Oldenburg today, so they are set to do so. (SX)
If people can find a use for it, okay (can you specify coach liveries in SP)? But I think then I'll do it as a pair with the Steuerwagen (which looked really dramatic with its blue/ivory nose). (Note again liveries from three different eras together) Unfortunately, I'll have to start that over from scratch because LD doesn't let you transfer anything between models. But at least I know how to solve some problems now!
Just tagging DTG Matt, in case he can answer why passenger coaches won't spawn- and why DTG even bothers with making them LD-compatible, since apparently alt-liveries are useless.
Regarding Passenger coaches, they can also spawn in custom paint. On my recent Riesa-Dresden run, I had an IC2-painted Dosto on my train previously Dresden Chemnitz Werdau Tharandter Rampe route I had a weathered Habbins freight car.
Well, it's started It occurs to me that the game considers cab cars "locos" so this one should spawn.
