To be fair the Desiro City horn is actually that quiet the 707's I drive are pretty close to how the horn sounds to the 700 in game.

Great modelling but the DC sounds are far from satisfactory. Just need an AC route(hopefully ECML south) to get the most out of it.

Can someone please help me out. What’s the proper way when you come to the last stop to turn it off. It seems every time I finish and then just go on foot when it comes time for the AI to take over it doesn’t and the train just sits there. It happened to me at Rainham with the 700

Just a quick review from me - Firstly this add-on is very respectively priced, with the standalone Class 700 DLC priced at £12.99 or for the whole SEHS experience bundle, £22.67, being the current price on Steam. Very good value for money.

The model itself is very good, with it being nice and detailed, with it being much more accurate compared to its TSC counterpart. You get a good selection of scenarios as well as services. Definitely fills in a gap to the already diverse SEHS route.

Lastly, sounds are good, although I do agree that it is a shame DTG couldn't source genuine DC 700 sounds. Though the 350 sounds are good enough for me, personally.

Just a few bugs which need fixing here and there, nothing massively game breaking I've found with it so far.

(My personal wish is for the 700 to have its own dedicated AC route, which will allow you to really stretch its legs compared to the relatively slow SEHS route)

My rating for this DLC - 8/10

i really do feel like 95% of the community feels the same way, and it really would be a missed opportunity if dtg refrain from making an ac route for the amazing 700.

Considering how much emphasis DTG have put on the AC sounds (even giving it its own AC part of the preview) and the timing of the release I'm 99% sure the summer release will be somewhere for it to run on AC or it'll at least be on the cards somewhere surely.

I remember when I was young my parents would once in awhile give me and early Christmas Or birthday gift before giving the main present. In my opinion this is what the 700/0 represents. DTG gave us an early access to a great loco before the main gift comes

I’m happy with my purchase overall.
    1. The sounds (traction motors in particular - not the sirens-like sounds) are a tad on the quiet side.
    2. The brake release hissing is there but barely audible. It’s much more pronounced and forceful in real life.
Those are just my initial impressions after playing one scenario.

Then the recordings might not have been clean. Depending on how many people are on the 700, they may drown out the sounds dtg want to capture. Then you need audio from different areas of the 700, not just the passenger compartment and be able to know at what speed it changes sounds or does something.

Issue is that dtg would have already spent a ton of resources building the train and simulation so they can't just abandon it. Things are expensive to make so just dropping it is a huge financial loss.

Sometimes they just can't get correct sounds whether it's cuz the train is not available or maybe when it's all planned out but the toc changes plans last minute and is like no. There's also legal and safety issues and disruptions to services as well too with attaching microphones to trains to record sound. Or dtg asked ap but for some reason they can't provide sounds. Dtg tried really hard to get 700 dc sounds from ap but it never worked out so dtg could either abandon the project which wasn't going to happen or use other sounds that sound similar

Yeah it’s making me feel like I’m going insane. Every video I watch of someone driving the Class 700 features completely normal headlight/tail light usage on the AI. That and working destination screens. Feels like a weird thing to be a PS exclusive issue, but it’d be even weirder if it was an issue exclusive to me.

Wow. I really love driving the 700; the throttle and brakes have such a great feel that it is easy to know where you are without looking. The variable settings make handling the speed around Strood much easier. And the increased traffic is fantastic. TSW's best route just got that much better!

Got to stretch the 700 on BML as the 1758 Brighton to Bedford. Was one of the best runs I have had on London Commuter and TSW3 in General.

There seems to be no way to reset it properly. I triggered the overspeed, pressed BR on the DMI but keep getting the "Overspeed. Contact the Signaller" voice message over and over. I tried resetting everything (ie shutting down the whole train to cold and dark and powered it back up); that got it moving again but the voice loop remained

I'll be honest I've not looked through the last 4 pages but one thing I've noticed so far is that the sound is choppy when you're in free cam watching the train go past. The interior lighting at night seems a bit off and too dark on either side. The sounds are okay, not perfect but we all know where they could be improved but I don't think it'll be worth the time trying to fix unless there's something already in the works.

Done my first run with the 700, a few things I've noticed mainly regarding sounds.
    • The exterior sound levels definitely need to be bumped up a bit, everything is far too quiet whether your outside or in the cab with both windows open. I know the sounds for DC aren't from an actual 700 but I don't think it's meant to be that quiet.
    • There is no DSD warning noise or anything indication on the screens to say you need to press the DSD again not sure if this is true to the real thing as I'm used to other UK trains give an audible warning.
    • When other trains are next to you or passing you they are pretty loud even WITH the windows closed.
Other than that so far it's a nice train to drive, will need more time to play with it though (doing it between my night shifts)

I wasn’t talking about using the sounds. Read what I actually wrote. I was talking about simply listening to what the real thing sounds like with a recording for backup so the sound engineer has a better idea of what he is aiming to achieve with the high fidelity sounds he does have. :)

Really good fun to drive and no performance issues on PS4 that I have noticed. Two minor things are the delay in AWS alert after it appearing on the HUD and stop signs. O know the signs are coming and they are an issue generally for the route, so not early an issue.
Worst thing now is that I will be trying to stop after entering stations at 40mph in every other train I drive!!

The AWS behaviour is correct so it sounds like the HUD isn’t. Once the train passes over the magnet there should be a ~1 second delay before the AWS alert triggers.

It makes very little difference and if anything exacerbates the incorrect volume levels vs the external sounds.

We know that DTG struggle with sounds (5 years in and still no reverb or bridge clatter) whether as shortcomings in their audio department or working with the UE engine or a bit of both. But these trains run right on their doorstep, it’s not some obscure train at the far flung corner of the Empire. The sound engineer(s) should have been given a weekly season ticket from Chatham to Luton or Bedford and told to spend a week travelling up and down on these things, to the point where they close their eyes at night and still hear the sounds. That way they would know immediately that the loops are catching or clipping and how the level of sound in the train should be vs external passing trains etc.

I read so many postives about that Class 700 here and checked the bundle (price) yesterday - it's a no brainer to aquire that and I will provide my feedback, too :)

Yeah I had that problem earlier on the exact same service funnily enough and this was on PS5 makes me think something's bugged on that particular service

Hopefully DTG now in the office and digesting the feedback so far and will give us their thoughts on the few issues raised, just to recap.
Sound level too quiet for both DC and AC but particularly DC.
Some evidence of sound looping on both DC and AC.
Trigger radius for stopping points at some stations needs easing out to 25m or the usual passenger default.
PIS not working after loading a saved game.

Lovely train I have to say. Well done team.

Appreciate the reasoning behind not being able to add it into the London Commuter timetable given the length and size already of that route / timetable. However I wander if it were possible to create a seperate timetable, like GWE has, for the London Commuter to include the 700 primarily concentrating on services between East Croydon and Brighton so to thin out the traffic between London and East Croydon giving back some valuable memory.

Also perhaps review the London Commuter scenario planner paths as you cannot add in trains that call at all stations between Brighton and Gatwick including Three Bridges on the fast lines neither can you start/terminate trains at Balcombe or Three Bridges (limited), the paths for Wivelsfield are also very limited.

Yes indeed. Once the initial issues are hopefully addressed DTG need to consider how to keep interest in this train alive. As I said in one of my earlier posts, driving that dreadful Strood to Gillingham all stops at a crawl section gets massively tedious and not something you want to repeat ad infinitum.

I was thinking the same. London Commuter needs a new timetable where the 700 fits in. This train really makes UK routes way more appealing. One of the things I disliked about London Commuter is the limited visibility of the route in those electrostars.

I saw an article where they were using spectrographs instead of using their ears. It reminds me of my time training budding sound engineers not to mix with their eyes as nobody will be listening to the final product with their eyes. I’m pretty sure they must be mixing on headphones as well and not checking levels through all playback devices like TV speakers for consoles etc. The whole mix here sounds very odd on PS5 and the AWS sounds are not like warnings but like a nun trying to break wind discreetly in a library. When the AWS is turned on, the voice saying it is active is louder than the warning sound that also plays. Again, the door closing chimes are louder and clearer from the cab than the AWS. It’s just wrong and there’s no excuse for it.

I don't really hear the problem with audio on this train on PS5. I've been rather vocal about audio issues in this game before. I don't know how the real trains sounds but there has been an improvement in the audio department if you don't count the Xbox version as that version is one big audio mess.

I've noticed that if you use the wipers in dry weather or going through a long tunnel in the rain, they eventually start to make a rubbing noise as they catch on the dry glass, just like in your car. Nice touch DTG, well done.

Watch the Dadrail YouTube preview stream.

He deliberately sets it off and shows how to reset it. I think you have to wait 60 seconds before you can move again and it stops talking to you.

I can also confirm Steam is fixed this morning. I posted a thread about the "Complete Your Collection bundles."
(Which are great BTW. Thank you DTG)
Seems I was having similar issues to Redrev. Steam was confused regarding the Heavy Freight Pack.
All sorted this morning, so Class 700, ROG 37 & RHTT for under £12. Nice :)

I think Microsoft limit the amount of sale deals and bundles per year that can be entered into the system.
It's not as flexible as Steam. Sony even less so than both.

OK well I'll have to watch it at some point then because to me, mine seemed to bug out even after waiting at least 2-3mins (I couldnt move during that time anyway as the brakes were locked).

PS5: The sounds needs adjustment when accelerating. The looping of the audio is extremely noticeable. It loops ever 1-2 seconds and really spoils the immersion. If the loop was fixed, I'd be happy!

Off the top of my head you have to be in full brake, not emergency. Press the yellow AWS reset button on the desk and there should a small yellow symbol on the touch screen that you need to press to clear and then wait 60 seconds.

    I think that's roughly it.
