I recently picked up 3 German routes in sales to properly get into German trains and pzb, and it's crazy the night and day (no pun intended) difference in not only the lighting levels in general but also the colour of the signals. The routes in question are DRA, HRR and RSN. All of these have beautiful night lighting, lovely orange glows of lampposts and great visibility from the cab. The signals look great, they really pop not only at night but day time also, the reds are definitely distinguishable from the yellows and there's no struggle to see anything if you run these routes at any time. Now if you compare this to newer routes, such as Glossop and SEHS, but also older routes such as the inky blackness of CRR among others. Not only is it pitch black at night but using the 700 on SEHS, I'm straining to tell the difference between reds and yellows. What's the issue here? Is it something I wonder that will ever get sorted? It makes certain routes much less enjoyable to play, and it's a shame because I haven't really touched CRR since I completed the journey, and in my opinion it's one of the best routes. All TSW 3 routes feature the washed out cabs, screens and terrible signal colours. It's a shame that some great routes become much less enjoyable to play after playing older routes, which seems wrong to me. Shouldn't games improve with more content? What do people think do other people find this as well?
The German route builder(s) seem to be at the top of their game. Though in fairness as first released HRR was dismal, cloudy conditions rendered as some post apocalyptic twilight world, not helped by station lights being strictly set to come on between certain times.
Yes I suspected it probably had something to do with the route builders, I wonder did TSG have a hand in making them routes. And thanks I didn't know that, only getting into this game recently and only just picking up that dlc. HRR definitely feels like one of the earlier dlc, but still stands up great I think to the newer routes. It now looks so good at night, I wish all the routes were up to this calibre.
