PC [update 13 July] This Time I Am Really Annoyed

Whats wrong with you guys and ladys from Dovetail Games??

Why you detroy someones Ingame progress to introduce a complete unneeded "Reduced Timetable" for PC players. Iam really ****** off at the Moment...

I meen, now i have two Timetables for one Route (what I really absolutely do not need). And on top of this unnecessary things that come with this Update, my (previous) Progress counts now only on the "Reduced Timetable" although I have completed these Services on the "Full Timetable" before this Update.

What kind of stupid ideas do you guys come up with as next? And all that only for a Handful old gen Console Players?? Are you serious?

Yeah, the TGV Services (as Example), that i am completed in the past, now totally gone, because in the "Reduced Timetable" the TGV is gone COMPLETELY. Yeah i can repeat it, in the "Full Timetable"..yeah i can now repeat 60+ Services...because they were only count in the "Reduced Timetable".

Sure, others Players may not be interested in that, but this Update was the biggest Mistake for a looooong Time.
And it ****** me off, when i playing Games for Hours to see one Day my Progress is Gone for this kind of stupid Update - for Console Players....

This Problem was resolved very quickly by Matt and his tireless work. A real big thank you for that.
DTG published an Update-Patch today, so the progress counts on both Timetables.

 

Chill out. It is only a few missing timetables. I'm sure if you ask someone like DTG Alex nicely they can help you out.

 

Which is worthless to anyone who doesn't care about the Timetable Lite, only the real one. This SUCKS!

DTG, give us back our progress in BOTH timetables!!!!!

 

How many services did you lose?

 

What really ****** me off is that someone in a much higher paygrade than Alex decided to inflict this Diet Timetable on everybody, not just those [Removed - DTG Alex: Insulting]. This should NEVER have been imposed on PC or Gen 9!

 

Ok and? Not everyone can do 5k services that are like 2 hours long.

 

I’m not happy about this either. I can’t quite fathom out what they were thinking.

They are literally screwing over 2/3rds of their platforms so people playing on 10 year old tech can join the party. If you have to do that fine, but for God’s sake give us all the choice.

 

I can't even count them. Just to start, all the services that made up the ENTIRE ****** JOURNEY, including the RHTT and ROG. All gone now. Plus loads of timetabled passenger and freight railtours--- I couldn't count them all if I wanted to, because presumably many of them are removed in the Discount Timetable.

 

I completely fail to see the relevance.

 

I'm just saying that some people might prefer the new timetable.

 

For me anyway (on Gen 8), SEHS was running fine, so I don't understand why they decided to have two separate timetables but I suppose some Gen 8 players might have been on the other side of the scale with constant crashing, so that's why DTG thought it was a good idea for everyone to get the two timetables on SEHS, which as stated above, I disagree with

 

For what conceivable reason?

 

People may not have too much time to knock out like 100 services at once.

 

Surely one of DTG's tech boffins can check a box and give us back the progress we already had in the real timetable.

 

I don't think getting mad and screaming, cursing and caps will get the point across. It could still be asked as constructive criticism no matter how frustrated you are.

 

I can't really say tbh, was playing TSW earlier on Gen 8 as well and it was fine.

 

Even if you only drive one service, the hollowed-out timetable means less AI and static traffic, and an unsat experience.

 

Subsidiary question...

How do we know (on PC) which timetable is being used and/or how do we choose?

My Journey is still showing 2 out of 29 completed (just wanted to check and see how much difference the sound mod makes).

 

The series s also struggled in dtgs tests. Remember it's not just a couple services that gets added. It's the entire ecml ai timetable and the entire 700 playable timetable

 

The Journey mode uses the reduced timetable but for timetable services, you can pick either

 

Journey mode is now all on the Andersonville timetable. You and I still get credit there... for whatever little it's worth.(Interestingly, I posted this very question on the 700 Q&A thread, and JD and Matt managed to avoid answering it...)

Haven't DTG got the message over the past two years that players want MORE traffic, not less?

 

I agree, as a pc player I am fed up with changes which make the experience worse (GWE anyone?) Please DTG stop doing this or give us the choice.

 

But for the Real Timetable we now have to start over from zero, because all progress has been scrubbed.

 

Fair enough, there are plenty of AI layers on there and I also understand why DTG made the reduced timetable to prevent crashing on mainly Gen 8 but also the Series S as like you say, the Series S was really struggling when DTG was testing the 700 prior to release

Which is very frustrating for everyone across all platforms as everybody now (rather annoyingly) has to do the same run again for the Full Timetable

 

Tbh I haven't been on SEHS but I suppose I'll trial it out tomorrow and see if it has changed

Better yet, this unasked for "patch" screws even the people who didn't buy the 700!

 

I didn't realise they erased everything not happy about that I completed alot of services on sehs all for nothing it seems

 

I pretty sure it would be resolved but I guess it got passed by QC, or It didn't happened on their build

I think Dovetail need to do what Grand theft auto did made a next gen version of the game for the new tsw whenever it comes

 

I am unable to download it as I keep getting “disk write error” Can’t even get access to play either.

Finally downloaded it. Took me an hour and a half.
Not had time to play it.

 

DTG can also consider how much time and headaches they could save themselves by dropping PS4 and XBox One. That's two out of seven platforms they currently have to build and test for.

 

Speaking of platforms, I'm am still annoyed that Warvick avenue platform signage on Bakerloo line is still "mirrored" in the game and has never been fixed...
Just "flip the damn station 180 degrees" and wer'e back on track...

 

Agreed, very unhappy with the decision to again limit PC players timetables (even if it is just the journey mode) due to console restrictions.

They've said on a number of occasions that 8th gen still makes up a large part of their dlc sales and that it probably wouldn't advance the game that much removing them. From a business point killing off that amount income would put DTG in a whole heap of trouble.

Matt said recently in a number of threads there are no plans to drop gen 8 and the reasons why

I am suprised they didn't just axe some of the layers on 8th gen like they used to though?

 

But then that's loyal players like me and TrainGeek08 flushed down the toilet. Some people can't always afford Gen 9 y'know.

 

So why impose this stripped down ****** on PC and Gen 9 users? Up to this point, reduced timetables were just something Gen 8 players had to live with. And if the hangup is XBox|S, then apply this deformity to consoles, and leave PCs alone!

Or at the very ****** least, give us our progress back! I wouldn't object if Vegan Timetable hung about unused while I continue as I always have on the Real Timetable. But, nooooooo, they had to strip away all my medals.

 

Maybe it's a result of a Microsoft mandate, which means it has to be applied to PCs? Hopefully, DTG can apply the medals to the correct timetables if you raise a support ticket.

 

This isn't acceptable, we shouldn't be getting our experience downgraded, and future stuff toned down because 10 year old hardware can't handle it.

 

Actually it’s a bit disappointing. I really think there should have been a toggle. It sucks for users who have done 100s of services only to see all that progress shifted over to the reduced timetable. At least for me the full timetable has 0 completed services shown atm and all the previous progress been shifted over to the reduced one.

I understand it’s not that big of a change but still, if you can run the full fat timetable why would you ever still use the reduced timetable?

 

I might not have started this thread if DTG had left player progress on the original/full timetable.
If you don't need the reduced timetable (no PC player really needs it) or the Journey, you can ingnore it.

But moving all progress to the reduced timetable was one of the biggest mistakes.
And this is the reason why I am so ****** off to this Update.

 

Completely agree. Absolutely no reason to even have a reduced timetable on PC. DTG need to at the very least apply previous progress to both timetables.

 

What’s the point of penalizing Gen 9 and PC players because of Gen 8 ? Why not just reduce timetables for Gen 8 only I mean what a surprise I got when I downloaded the updates, SEHS is still stuttering which is a big shame for the latest console. For God’s sake give us back the original timetables and optimize the route, there’s some heavy FPS drop at some location what a shame.

 

Honestly, I was genuinely disappointed with this. The fact it's just being forced onto people who it doesn't apply for is just stupid. I'm a huge fan of journey mode, so now being forced to play essentially a more bland version of the route sucks. Plus all the medals being counted on the reduced timetable is just absurd. On top of all of that, it's for people playing on old gen consoles, which to be fair, I do think that every player should be represented. But was it really not possible to do this for only gen 8 consoles?

 

What I don’t get is this;

- They released the DLC with the full timetable and full fat journey mode, so both existed
- They released the patch (that no one asked for) with the Gen8 timetable and journey mode, yet for some inexplicable reason (when they had both versions of both the timetable and the journey mode present and correct) then took the full journey mode away from those that had already been playing it and wiped all their gameplay.

It’s inexplicable really, and whoever is responsible for it needs to know that. I wonder if this violates Steams terms of service? The product I was sold has been intentionally made worse after sale to accommodate ancient consoles that have absolutely nothing to do with Steam. How the heck is that right?
