Some time ago I was running TGV empty stock run from London St. Pancras to Ashford International and noticed a weird formation of Electrostars coming to Ashford. It was SE Blue 375 with Southern 377 as the second unit. Do they even couple up like that irl?
During the time period when Sehs is set, two of Southern's class 377's (377 163 & 377 164) were subleased to Southeastern.
Saw one such example entering London Victoria a year or two ago on the way to University! Makes an interesting sight!
I'm not sure if this was intended by DTG since nothing like that seems to happen on the route between Dartford and Faversham, but that's an interesting piece of information.
It was indeed intended. Similar formations can be found on the Southeastern platforms on London Commuter (for those that have the SE layer).
I once saw this configuration pulling into Faversham, while I was leaving it with the steam railtour. I thought it was quite peculiar as well, at the same time though it's a brilliant little detail when you consider the two units that got leased at that time.
This consist is designed to emulate Southeastern's former Class 377/1s being used with their Class 377/5s. The /1s have been returned to Southern now and the /5s are planned to go, although no date is set and it's unclear if it'll happen at all. As the 377/5 is not in TSW (which is surprising, as it would be a nice thing to add for a loco add-on bundle) DTG used 375s, which does not happen in real life. While all Electrostars can control each other mechanically (other than 357s) - there are plenty of videos of 377s couple to 387s, for example - other systems don't work together. What would need to be done to the 377/5s to fully work together with 375s is unknown, but what we do know is that there is no demand or need for it. As for the uploaded photograph taken near Victoria, that is a 377/5, not a 375. They can be told apart easily, as the 377/5s are purple rather than blue (they are still in First Capital Connect purple and were never repainted), have grey roofs rather than blue, and have black lining around the headlights.
