Hello All, I have a question about multi-function displays, the two on the left side in BR401 (ICE1) numbered 33 and 34 in user's manual and the two in BR403 (ICE3) numbered 20 & 25 in user's manual on both left and right side, that is: can someone explain what can I do/check/turn on/off using these? Right now I only know that in ICE3 I can check doors status on the left one and on ICE1 I know that I can activate/deactivate AFB. What are the other options available there? Manual is not mentioning one word about it unfortunately...
For the ICE3, on the left screen it controls passenger lights, Destination and AFB. for lights it’s under the German word starting with “B” and can be turned on by pressing “B… 1” which illuminates the big square yellow. AFB is activated by clicking AFB and to get full AFB it’s the last option with “AFB V Soll…”. Destination display can be changed by clicking the “U” button above the top right of the screen this will take you to a different main menu.
Ok, so I tried all the options listed by tokatails08 for BR403 (Kessel - Wurzburg version) and... only AFB works Lights? Nope, you can tap that two options to turn them on/off and the blue rectangle stays blue. Destination? Nope, you can enter the destnation's selection menu, but there is no single destination to choose from. So I guess it is not implemented/bugged for BR403 SKW version? This multi function displays are actually pretty much useless. Every time I switch camera to the outside view, their brightness level resets to nuclear blast level. None of the options available there works, except for AFB. Even such simple display like doors status is bugged as it always shows door numbered 14 opened, but just switch camera to outside view and back - miracle! Door 14 are closed now! And this is on the latest version of BR403, the one coming in Standard and Deluxe pack of TSW3. That's pretty poor DTG, not a game breaking issues, but still I do not recall so much bugged MFDs on other trains from TSW.
the lights do work. the rectangle does not light up though. thats an issue thats so unimportant to DTG that it probably wont be fixed, but the lights do work if you press the buttons for it, just look behind you. It did work on the Munich-Augsburg class 403 though... odd. well, we know TSW, full of issues
Yes, you're right. I don't own HMA, but found quickly a video, where someone was setting up BR403 for a ride and on HMA version destinations were present, selectable and working. And when HMA was released? Somewhere in 1955? Well, I'll check later today if SKA' s version of BR403 is any better and if so, I'll switch to drive it on SKW.
sorry to ruin it for you but the one on Cologne-Aachen is a class 406, not 403. the difference is, other than visually the additional pantographs, that the train happens to be the multisystem variant of the ICE 3. it does not work in TSW though, the pantographs are solid models and the power changing systems on the 406 does not work at all, trashed
A pretty pointless use of programmer time, since there's nowhere for it to run outside Germany (in game).
Hey, thanks for pointing that out, you've spared me some time and irritation, I thought it was 403 Strange that it was implemented, looks more like some "leftover" than intended setup to me.
might be because Aachen is pretty close to the border of germany, and then theres france I guess, and the ICEs travel to france aswell
The ICEs that run Köln-Aachen continue on to Brussels, so DB puts 406s on that route. (They only bought 20 of them to handle international services. The rest of the 1st-gen ICE 3s are the less expensive 403s). It would have been wrong to put a 403 on that route.
I have one more question regarding BR401/403 - is it possible to switch between brakes type (between electronic and pneumatic)? In BR401 on the right side below the dashboard there is a switch allowing to select between 'Electronic' and 'Pneumatic' but whatever I select it is not changing the brake selection displayed on HUD (always pneumatic are marked as selected) and always both types of brakes are being applied.
