Good morning all At the moment I am doing Tehachapi pass from beginning toll the end. Great fun! I do miss the radio chatter though.is that a special setting that needsto beenabled or is it simplynot iincluded in this route ? Thanks
The "Radio Chatter" if you could call it that is a file that is played when driving some of the older locos. As it gets boring with the same phrases being repeated most people look for a way to get rid of it https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/foreman-dan.38017/#post-280918 If you wished to add it you should be able to reverse engineer it.
Thanks Peter. Of course I am not looking how to remove it. I think it realy ads to the atmosphere. Too bad Dovetail decided to not put any resources towards this feature. I would think it should be very easy to include a ton of self recorded random chatter from a large library. But hey, the Dovetail Team probably has a long wishlist of very easy stuff
W I know you are not wishing to remove it. I was pointing out the thread where the information exists to find the file. Not sure why you think that having the radio spout Foreman Dan every few mins is adding to the atmosphere? And I don't care as I have removed the stupid file from my Railworks Setup. I realise you think its DTGs fault that they did not do any more of this chatter. Why not ask the people on RailworksAmerica if they know a way of adding this raido chatter as it's only in the US where you get this annoying radio sounds. https://railworksamerica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5342&sid=bbd42016b8b549ce6ca431f3008c97ba And I apologise for trying to help. - I won't make that mistake again. My name is not 7 Peter
Thanks. May I suggest you stop assuming you know what I think. I am proud of you. May I suggest you stop assuming you know what I think. Friendly as ever. Thank you Thanks, updated my posts. Please realize it is not your mission in life to be the first one to answer every post. I suggest you should step back a bit more and give others a chance as well !
I did not use the in-game option. I found a stream on http://www.railroadradio.net/content/view/142/186/ that worked and listened in real time. As I recall not all of the links worked so I had to do a little digging before using. The disadvantage is I need another window open to play the audio while I also have TS running. Saying that it adds to the realism.
Thanks R3, will give it a go. I could run the chatter on my phone, so I am not taking away any resources from the game.
In your posts I will let others help you. I am quite calm - When you try to help people and they snap back it can irritate people. The thread I suggested in my first reply had a link to RW America with more info that the OP wanted.
