    Documents-My games-Train Sim World3-Saved-Config-WindowsNoEditor. Thereafter is a file called Engine, which is a notepad that initiates the values of the core game engine. You then see the vanilla values of TSW3 then you see the Sound Settings. Leave a blank line after that in the notepad and paste an ini.tweak. This is the one I use :

    [SystemSettings]
    r.ViewDistanceScale=3
    foliage.LODDistanceScale=4
    r.DFDistanceScale=10
    r.DFFullResolution=1
    r.TonemapperGamma=2.5
    r.LightMaxDrawDistanceScale=50.0
    r.MinScreenRadiusForLights=0.00
    ts2.CameraMotionSway.EnableUprightCompensation=0
    ts2.CameraMotionSway.KSitting.Y=200.0
    ts2.CameraMotionSway.KSitting.Z=200.0
    ts2.CameraMotionSway.LSitting.Y=40
    ts2.CameraMotionSway.LSitting.Z=5.0
    ts2.CameraMotionSway.SittingPivotOffset=-200
    ts2.CameraMotionSway.LSitting.X=50
    ts2.save.CheckpointsEnabled=0
    r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=0
    r.Color.Max=1.2
    r.Color.Mid=0.4
    r.TemporalAACurrentFrameWeight=0.2
    r.TemporalAASamples=4
    r.ToneMapper.Sharpen=0.5
    r.SSR.Quality=4
    r.SSR.Temporal=1
    TimeOfDaySystem.AutoExposure.SpeedUp=10

    Make sure that your hardware is good enough but if it isn't you can just delete the ini.tweak from the Engine Notepad. There are ini.tweaks that are available that are good for FPS that don't fry your CPU or GPU, mainly on the Train Sim Community website

    All being well I’ll have my ini/lighting overhaul on TSC either later today or tomorrow. I’ve made 6 iterations ranging from ‘Beyond Ultra’ to ‘Beyond Low’ so it ought to cater to everyone’s specs.

    I tried the ‘beyond low’ spec with the game settings set to Medium and it’s still a vast improvement on the default game. I think you would need to be running a GPU a fair bit older than a 1080 to need to go that low however, but the option is there should it be needed.

    Remember folks. If you are going to tweak your Engine.ini files, BACK UP your original file before you make the changes. :)

    Ordinarily that’s a definite but don’t worry about that here, it’s really not a big deal. Even if you made an absolute Horlicks of the whole thing (which you won’t) you can simply delete the file and the game will just recreate a new one next time you start it.

    TSW is pretty good like that. It’s pretty much idiot proof :cool:

    ps There’s some route-defining last minute stuff going on that you’re gonna love. I’m absolutely certain of that.

    Release is imminent. Before you make the purchase, there will be plenty off mml default foliage LOD vs Peak Forest mod footage to compare. I cant recommend it enough personally.

    I will also be releasing the ini’s with their associated lighting overhaul and a little instruction thing but that’s highly likely to be tomorrow now.

    I would do anything for this EP to come to console, great work londonmidland , AP would probably charge us if they did this but here you are doing it for free, Would be nice to see it on console and I hope your work gets the due recognition it deserves because it’s amazing work

    Hate to say this, but I don't think mods will ever come to consoles, this discussion was brought up before already but to put it bluntly consoles were just not built to allow mods to be implemented especially since the files are encrypted etc.

    It doesn’t have to be a mod, maybe he can release it through DTG as a patch? If DTG allow of it

    The foliage work looks great, noticed two fences next to each other in the last shot, are they added in the mod? I'd be suprised if SHG put extra details like that in. But then again can we add lofts in yet?

    No can only add them piece by piece. Hence why Ive not seen the present fence. Ahhh
    Will delay the pack a few days now, whilst I fix it.
    Just kidding I’ll get that sorted quick.

    I think certain elements of the enhancement packs could be adapted officially by DTG. The ballast colours, signal colours, and other edits that don't require licensing. I do wonder why they stick to that mud brown/dark grey ballast colour...

    Yeah I don't have a clue why they do that either, shows how much they care about that bit of detailing...

    Not possible because there are real life brands used in the mod which DTG don't have a license for.

    No. You only need MML and GWE. You’ll get all the ep features. Issue if you use default mml foliage is that you will get the loading of assets in front of you. With Peak Forest and the foliage mod, this wont happen and the greenery will be more dense and natural looking.

    Going back to the UK speed sign quality, or lack of it, I was wondering if there was anyway of decreasing the UE4 default font thickness - they all seem to be of bold font, a thinner font would look better imo. I know we can't change the actual font, but the thickness alteration would be better than what we have already. Of course all other UE4 default fonts in game would also be changed, but I'd prefer seeing better speed signage than anything else tbh.

    I still can't figure out why DTG haven't sorted this out yet, the German routes all have excellent and correct fonts for their trackside signage! Weird.

    Loving this so far incredibly detailed. Only thing I've noticed so far is: The Cab Light in the HST doesn't actually light up, it casts light but the actual model of the light doesn't light up.

    It doesn’t by default & sadly there’s nothing we can do to change that. That one is on Skyhook I’m afraid.

    The emissive dosent exist. We can only change the light thats cast. Similar with the 158 exhaust, my mod would improve it, if it existed. Maybe a future patch will make this possible.

    Completely fair enough, hopefully Skyhook can add it in at some point.
    The foliage additions on this route make it feel so completely different. It's like night and day. It all just blends really well together. You've all outdone yourselves.

    I’m getting a faint block pattern like very large pixels on the top left corners of the glass of the 158. I can’t remember if that was there beforehand.

    Not sure if that’s the Mod or the ini file. I’ll try to tie it down and if I can, will provide screenshots.

    I can live with it though, I mainly drive the HST anyway. Absolutely stunning work.

    I've thoroughly enjoyed working on this mod, hopefully it makes driving on MML a 1000x better than default.

    The foliage changes along have made dramatically the biggest change to the route and it looks so much better!

    Well done to those who collabed on this mod!

    Yeah We’re aware of it. Couldnt figure out why. In theory should be such a simple fix. Decided not to hold up the release any further. If a fix is found. Im sure it will be added.

    I'm getting some pixelated pattern on the HST yellow ends as well. Looks like some form of texture compression artifact?

    Looks the same sort of thing as the window in the 158. Textures exported with wrong settings perhaps? It looks like compression to me. upload_2023-7-26_15-16-29.png

    Am I understanding the .INI change. Download the .ini of your choice say Ultra,open that in notepad,copy that content. Open the engine .ini in my game,skip a line at the bottom of the file and add the contents of the ultra.ini to this file then save.

    Last Post from me today as I'm actually excited to play the game for the rest of the evening.

    The 2 releases today of the INI files and the MML EP have absolutely blown me away. Some will think I'm over exaggerating, but for me it's completely transformed the game. I know DTG can't do all the branding stuff that you guys do, and I'm lucky that my PC is no potato, but just stunning.

    I just completed my second run in the HST first one to make sure all the shaders recompiled as my graphics driver updated yesterday and the stutters came back, then the same run again to see how smooth it is. I've stepped up to the Mega Ultra INI file. Seems my PC can handle it and although the fans are in full on panic mode, the temps seem ok. I had 3 microstutters in the whole run and no pop in except for a couple of shadows.

    Highlights for me :
    • No Pop in of the cooling towers - they just come into view as they should and look almost real.
    • Stations seem more alive. Even if you fly through them at speed, the pops of colour from the branding make them seem more real.
    • Foliage and track clutter - just brilliant.
    • Branding on all the Vans and Lorries.
    • Much improved lighting.

    Can't thank you enough. Beginning to sound like a broken record now so signing off for tonight. Would be really good to see one of the youtubers do a side by side compare of the changes with and without the modes. I decided to switch from console (XBOX) to Steam to get this route and while I miss being able to play from the comfort of the Sofa, I'm happy I did.

    Yes sounds correct. So clear the lines from system settings down. Add this in its place.

    It doesn't look to be a compression issue if you ask me, compression would be DXT1 which is the UE4 selects by default so I doubt that's the reason for how pixelated it is.

    I think it's more to do with the HST just having an absolutely shoddy & poorly done UV map which makes certain areas of the texture look really low res & grainy. If you've ever done reskinning (not Creators Club) in TSW you know it can be a right pain simply because the people who do the modelling side of things set the UVs up to just compress everything in a small single 4k resolution texture which saves on resources which in turn can leave smaller bits of detailing chuffing tiny which makes them stick out like sore thumb.
