So here's what we know so far.
Smithfield depot looks to be the code name for TSW4
We have the pre order depots listed under Smithsfield101prepurchase,Smithsfield102prepurchase,Smithsfield103prepurchase,
with effective date of 8-22-23 which is the same date on the French article,
Depot Smithfield104Flying scotsman Centenary edition which is why the ECML DLC is most likely for UK route.
and finally Smithfield 109vectron which is most likely the German loco on the roadmap.
There's is also a depot smithfields general audience which I'm not sure what it is..

There are still a some of TSW3 depots available "Pentadecagon CB, Pentadecagon AAE,PentadecagonDLC99, PentadeconPresBLKpool,PentadecagonBRclass700/0 which has already release so not sure why this one went unused.

Fair play buddy, you’ve really done your homework on this. Good job. I hope that all the time you’ve put into this pays off and you’re right…..they’ll be some pretty gutted DTG bosses if you’ve spoilt the surprise reveal! :)

PresBLKpool confirms what we already guessed about the JT route.

CB and AAE remain a bit of a mystery though as does DLC99.

Given that some DLC released but didn't disappear from the list (like the 700/0), I think it's reasonable to assume that AAE was the Acela (Amtrak Express).

I'm not sure about CB either though - my working theory is that whatever it is was either cancelled or shunted into TSW4 and therefore is one of the Smithfield 105-115 repositories.

For AAE I'm going with a wild guess : Aachen Extention.
    It's 99% not that but I'm hoping

I had two theories for CB but it was mostly me dreaming.
One was Cambridge to Brighton, the other was Croydon to Bedford. Lol

Matt said they would work on fixes to the route BUT they would NOT go back and change the timetable. I heard him say it with my own ears.

I don’t believe there would be any more DLC releasing for TSW3. Everything has probably been moved to TSW4. That’s is why last year bakerloo and Hamburg were just waiting for tsw3 to release for them to get the updated timetable. This year is NYT that is waiting

I’m going the timetable on chronological order. So I did 12-1am for all of my routes then 1-2am etc. I’m up to 5-6am now. Solves the problem of deciding which to play since I want to play all of them

A short time ago it was "Where is the evidence, there's no way they would release it so soon after TSW3 etc."

Gone very quiet from the sceptical folks now.

I look forward to TSW18, they may even give us a timetable editor by then!

    I'm going with one of:
    • City Thameslink — Bedford
    • Coventry — Birmingham
    • Cottbus — Berlin
    • Cuxhaven — Bremen
    • Cleveland — Buffalo
    • Colby — Burlington

He said they had no plans to work on it but that could change. Read it to it how you want they never said we aren’t ever going to fix it. They acknowledged the problem in the same stream. So esstentially you’re saying that they said it’s a problem and we won’t fix it. Not likely

    Exactly

“no plans” means exactly that inferring they aren’t ready to commit.

I have noticed on various forums that people like to read into any statement made, despite what is actually written, what they want to feed their narrative.

Actually I have to give that credit to Mattwild55 as he was the one that actually told us about the Epic DB. after that it was a collaboration of players with public information that's available to all of us. That was the reason the thread was created. Once it was know then it would be better to try to contained it on a thread label thread as *spoiler warning for those players that didn't want to know. I don't think it worked but I tried. Anyways still all speculation but with some evidence of some form of new content

Well I think they will have noted the strength of opinion regarding the 700 on BML. The doesn''t guarantee anything of course, it guess it depends how feasible it is. I suppose as time goes on and more "stellar" routes come out and BML becomes less popular or less spoke about then it might never happen.

    Personally I hope it does.

I do to, the BML is one of my favorites routes and even having the most services out of all DLC, still feels empty and incomplete south of East Croydon. I

Right so when dtg says x … and they have an axe to grind with them … then their bias turns that into something else.

Agreed. I have rarely heard DTG categorically deny some future development; it is usually more like no plans at the moment, but for the future, who knows? Matt usually goes out of his way to qualify many of his statements in this way. Even in the instances when DTG is quite firm about something, such as not dropping Gen 8, people will keep focussing on the subject anyway. Feeding a narrative, indeed.

Feels even emptier and more incomplete between Norwood Junction and London Bridge... hint hint, DTG.

It's also worth noting that both AAE and CB haven't been updated on Epic since 2022 so I think they're just duplicate entries left there. Like you said AAE is likely to be the Acela and CB could be Chinley- Buxton aka Peak Forest

Again. You’re the one claiming that the people stopped playing. I’m not debating you. I’m asking for the evidence you have to prove that. The onus is on you to prove the point that you continually keep stating as fact.

    Its has been forever thus.

Clearly DTG were bought by Focus because they were failing that is why they seem to be regularly advertising for new staff and can develop new games.

As above, if it fits the narrative it will be continuously repeated ad-infinitum and as long as a few lap it up that is all that matters.

Generally, certainly in law as far as I know the onus is on those making the case to prove their facts are sound.

Let's clear up some statements made over this thread:

We were not purchased by Focus because we were "failing" as a company, we simply sought out investment and found a mutual relationship we could build with them - and we made sure it was the right fit for us at Dovetail. As it currently stands, they have had no impact on our current developments, they act more as advisors and as financial stability. That being said, our relationship does allow us to share mutual learnings from Focus, and look to improve our workflows - which is only a good thing for everyone.

As for the player counts in TSW3, they have been the highest we've ever seen when you account for all platforms, regions and internal player tracking data. Even more so, since our launch we've maintained a steady upwards growth and also a constant stream of new players joining our franchise each week.

I hope that puts to rest any concerns you may have about the future of Train Sim World. We're very excited, we hope you're very excited, and we will continue growing and developing our skills to make the best experiences for rail enthusiasts with our simulators. :)

    Forgetting the more obvious:
    • Crewe - Birmingham
    • Cardiff - Bristol
^ Baseless statement. Alex was addressing a totally different topic that had arose in the thread (Focus' takeover of DTG) and he didn't once even reference TSW4. I eagerly await radio silence on Tuesday and Thursday.

Tsw4 will be a joke.... only 10-11months ago they streamed the teaser for tsw3. Imo ... tsw4 will be the downfall! Core update of tsw3 is the way forward AND support gen8. Losing gen8 loses ALOT of revenue! Not everyone can afford gen9.

Saying that... wouldn't mind a london Waterloo - Portsmouth harbour dlc! Slamdoors and the thumper preferred.

Old-gen is holding back development of the next-gen. You have to move on at some point, the PS4 is ten years old.
Development of newer versions is always going on in the background. So a year ago they could have been working on two versions (or more, who knows) but progress probably went smooth and we see a TSW4 sooner then later.

Come on Alex, get JD out to spill the beans.

Good to hear about player counts - I would say I'm on the PC version most days, even when currently playing Stray a bit. PS5 less so.

However I do think something needs to be said soon to coral some of the wilder speculation and get us talking about what is (coming) rather than what might be. Even confirmation of the date we can expect the big announcement would go a long way to calming the frenzy. My Steam Wallet is locked and loaded ready, but it would be nice to know what I'm spending it on, other than Preston to Blackpool (Ormskirk?).

I get that bro, but not everyone can pull £3/400 out of their pocket for gen9 (even that is 2nd hand)
    Ideally 2024 would be suited.

You can always buy the new version and console at a later date, lots of routes still available for old gen. Now is a good time to buy a PS5 (price dropped a lot in sale) I doubt it will get lower then this by a lot.

Whilst not proper numbers as such, Trueachievement player counts for the Xbox version lists TSW 2020 as 24000, TSW2 at 30000 and TSW3 at 36000.

What's going to magically change next year? Console generations always advance, and previous ones are always left behind. That's the reality of the situation. That was the case with gen 7 as well, I'm sure people who were stuck with them wanted to play gen 8 games too. But you can't keep holding stuff back together because people don't want to/cant upgrade.

How do we know these leaks refer to TSW4 and not just another Rush Hour-style update + bundle of three new routes?

I'll admit I was more on the side that thought it wasn't likely, but the signs do seem to be pointing more towards it now. I'm interested to see quite how they'll position it - especially in terms of not repeating all the issues from TW2-3 and definitely not (I hope) creating a third tier of DLC (ie TOD 3, TOD 4, TSW 4-specific features). I'm a little nervous what it will mean.

Only DTG has all the information, and my guess is they'll reveal it in the August roadmap, which will probably be around 10 days before what looks like the pre-order opening date.

I have shown directional information. However, I have seen nothing to the contrary from your point of view. I really want to understand your side, therefore please enlighten me. Show me the stability or growth. It's a useless point of conversation, however since we're having it, I may as well be informed / corrected.

We had two roadmap articles last August, on consecutive days 10th and 11th. They happened after the reveal of TSW3 and contained all the information about its contents, They are both still on the Dovetail Live roadmap page if anyone here needs a reminder. I should imagine it will be a similar thing this year. No roadmap on the normal day but one after the big announcement.
