On the Route Tharandter Rampe: Dresden-Chemnitz, why are there no Freight Services Driving the entire Route from Dresden to Chemnitz?
Hey! Yes so there are I think three towards Dresden at least. But it is not a busy freight route at all. Three a day is too many, it's normally around 3 a week. All because of the steep climb that the heavy trains would face. It is therefore easier and cheaper to run the train via Riesa instead, which is why DRA is very freight heavy. The only trains that use this route frequently are those that serve the local industries. Hope that helps!
