I think the reason why I started to accept there's a higher chance of TSW4 is because of all the new entries on the Epic Store. If it was just a "Rush Hour"-style update, that wouldn't be necessary, because the base game and existing DLCs wouldn't need new entries.
I'll bet DTG (and the ambassadors, in this case) are tired of answering the same questions over and over again. Straight from the horse's mouth: The forum has a search function and I wish more people would use it, especially when I see the same thing, that's already been explained by DTG/official sources, complained about repeatedly.
I would love to know what evidence you have for this... I can give you evidence to the contrary. See the release of TSW3 where they said they were going away to "fix a load of bugs" but by that point had been working on the core game for several months. So far we've paid for TSW (up to 2020) and then 2 and then 3, including a DLC from 2 which had the 465 as a standalone purchase, which now comes free with SHES on TSW3. DTG are in the business of selling. I don't think we need it clarified further really
There’s far too much smoke for there to be nothing. Just look at the roadmap. DTG have no releases upcoming and the roadmap covers the near future. This is a business that relies on releasing extra content.
According to my observations, they allow any discussion that doesn't go beyond the forum rules. For this I can only say bravo to DTG, I really like such a policy.
I agree. If they could only fix the stuttering, menu highlight colours, sounds (Xbox) and dynamic weather I'd re-install it in an instant.
Stuttering I think they have explained whats caused that in the past UE4 thing apparently If I remember (someone please correct me if I am wrong) Menu colours definitely need addressing. Anyone for Pink in TSW 4* (the pink polka dot with red & white stripes edition?) Dynamic Weather for me has been behaving at present. Mostly I set the weather at the moment. Sounds deffo need addressing on Xbox. Hentis * Not confirming it exists as I dont know lol.
Not to mention that TSW3 just so happens to be leaving Game Pass a few weeks before the alleged release date. That strongly indicates a new release and was really the final nail in the coffin for me.
i can see TSW4 Being a thing but do note folks stop and think for a sec yeah if they do jump to Unreal 5.2 lets just say they mite need to rebuild all the 83 Smithfield's just like the TSW1 To TSW2 Jump so it could be still a new year of TSW3 Before TSW4 Witch we all fort would be around September 2024 anyway no harm in talking about Unreal 5 being the reason behind having everything coded again true
Yeah I've heard the UE4 inherently causes stuttering excuse many times before. Seems strange though as this is the only game in UE4 that I've ever seen stutter like this. Not even TSW2 on UE4 had this severe of stuttering. In fact TSW2 routes IN TSW3 don't stutter like native TSW3 routes therefore the finger points to problems with whatever they've done in TSW3.
Now one feature I would love to see coming to TSW4 is No.1 Vibration and No.2 Adaptive Triggers/ Impulse Triggers on the PS5/ Xbox Series X and S It will add "Emerson" and "new gameplay" to the game so what do y'all think about this?
It's a good idea. A very basic feature for these consoles yet to date has never been implemented. TramSim which I assume is created by a much smaller group has it implemented and works nicely. A rumble for wheel slip, or perhaps some feedback when going over crossed tracks would be subtle and nice.
Unless it’s coming with whatever is on the horizon, they can’t even get reverb implemented on the main sound channels…
The other day I used my xbox controller on Train sim Classic for the first time ever. The vibration function worked on the controller when I was outside of the train the railjoint sounds were interpreted into the vibration function of the controller. I hated it lol. So would I want vibration function like that for PS / Xbox..... personally no and if they do have it then put it as an option. Hentis
Agree. I dislike controller feedback in most games. Just seems unrealistic and forced (no pun intended). I even disable it in Flight Sim when using the joystick.
I get more reverb on my N Gauge layout with the sound fitted locos than in state of the art TSW, as I said elsewhere without timetable mode TSW would offer little.
As someone who works in construction compiling health and safety forms I would ask whether you need a HAVs form so you can record white finger risk... playing with a constantly vibrating controller (as it would be if the verb was realistic) would eventually harm your hands!
Controller force-feedback would be a fantastic option IMO. The fact that ancient TSC has it but not TSW is strange to me.
I would definitely like to have the PS5's adaptive triggers for TSW, so that you can feel some resistance when pulling the throttle or brake handle.
You could say that with COD when you shoot a gun that's vibrating and plus people can turn it off if you don't like the vibration.
It funny how people assume that TSW has the same business model as TSC. The free updates is a TSC thing and it seems that TSW is going in a different direction amd charging for their upgrades. So it is what it is TSW and TSC are different games and different business models.
I wouldn’t be surprised if tsc support stops in the next few years to allow for tsw development to go into full gear
They would still continue to support tsc. They had that whole article from several months ago outlining how they would completely transform tsc to bring it to to standard with modern technology and hardware in terms of performance, etc. There's only been like 3rd party releases for tsc but dtg hasn't made stuff for it
As far as I remember, they already said in one of the previous roadmaps, that they will give more focus on fixes and co. in the next months. So nothing out of the ordinary to me.
What mayor improvement do you miss with TSW3 which would rectify TSW4? Me for myself can't see any necessity for a TSW4 right at the moment and I would only feel like a cash cow if they really would release TSW4 this year. Reseasing a TSW3 which would be out of date by the time they release it and they are already planning a TSW4? Sorry DTG, that would be very annoying. Just a cash grab...
i hate to pop the bubble but my team has confirmed with me that Next week is the August 2023 Roadmap and like i have said all along i do not see TSW4 this year
Focus on fixes... i remember that - they used the same sentence last year that they will focus on fixies for TSW 2 and then TSW 3 was announced and released
Fixes, Remove stutters, much improved passengers, better shadows, redesigned HUD, UI overhaul, HDR support, .... there is a huge list of stuff waiting that could improve this game. A very huge list actually
There will be a roadmap for August. They are just confirming dates. This was confirmed last week by DTG Alex.
I'm sorry to burst your bubble but the Epic store unofficially confirmed to the entire TSW community that TSW4 is coming and you will be able to pre order it on the 28th of august. You made already perfectly clear why they would never tell you about their plans. You go snitch on the forums
And what is your official status with DTG or associates to know this and if so, aren’t you breaching NDA by making that statement?
