Love me or hate me, another Great Eastern Mainline suggestion. I know there are loads and people may want other suggestions but I do want to suggest this as I would feel like it's a good fit for the game. Just to start off with a bit of background on the GEML; GEML stands for Great Eastern Mainline which many know and some may not. This line is operated by Greater Anglia and runs from Norwich - London Liverpool Street. But for the sake of this suggestion and for obvious reasons of length wise I am suggesting the section from Ipswich to London Liverpool Street. This journey covers a distance of around 64 miles and can average times of 1 hour 14 minutes. The time can vary depending on the amount of stops, signalling, etc. The whole line leading up to London Liverpool Street is made up of OHLE meaning the rolling stock I am suggesting today is powered via a pantagraph. I want to set this era in 2019 when the class 321, 360 and 90 was still in service, two years before the FLIRT's and Aventra's came into play with Greater Anglia. A line that runs along the GEML is called TFL rail with a stock of class 345's running from London Liverpool Street to Shenfield. TFL Rail used to run class 315's but for this suggestion I am suggesting the class 345's I know a few people may dislike it. But also with the 2019 era the TFL Rail was still not re branded to Elizabeth Line and was still terminating at London Liverpool Street via the top platforms instead of going directly through the Stratford portal. A good part of track to also include in the GEML is the London Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria which gives another part of the GEML to explore and drive on with more rolling stock in use. London Liverpool Street to Southend is 34 miles and around 1 hour in time. Just one more extra branch to include more stock is London Liverpool Street to Colchester Town creating distance of around 47 miles and an average of 1 hour and 10 minutes of a train ride. Stations: Ipswich [GA] Manningtree [GA] Colchester Town [GA] Colchester [GA] Southend Victoria [GA] Prittlewell [GA] Southend Airport [GA] Rochford [GA] Hockley [GA] Rayleigh [GA] Wickford [GA] Billericay [GA] Marks Tey [GA] Kelvedon [GA] Witham [GA] Hatfield Peverel [GA] Chelmsford [GA] Ingatestone [GA] Shenfield [GA] [TFL] Brentwood [TFL] Harold Wood [TFL] Gidea Park [TFL] Romford [GA] [TFL] Chadwell Heath [TFL] Goodmayes [TFL] Seven Kings [TFL] Ilford [TFL] Manor Park [TFL] Forest Gate [TFL] Maryland [TFL] Stratford [GA] [TFL] London Liverpool Street [GA] [TFL] (I also included the stations from the Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria branch and Colchester Town) Rolling stock: Class 321 The class 321 would be used from London Liverpool Street - Southend Victoria which runs 3tph Class 360 The class 360 would be used from London Liverpool Street - Colchester town which runs 1tph Class 90 The class 90 would be used from London Liverpool Street - Ipswich which runs 2tph Class 345 The class 345 would be used from London Liverpool Street - Shenfield which runs 8tph That is my suggestion on the Great Eastern Mainline. I know there will be people disliking the fact I added the class 345. As much as I love the train myself I do not want to be biased. I purely added the train since I have seen a few Elizabeth Line suggestions so this could bring along happy customers with the class 345 and the class 90, 321 and 360. Please leave comments if you would rather the 315 or anything you would rather change from this suggestion. I would love to hear your opinions.
Great suggestion mate, a decent era and in the old Eastern Region so ticks my boxes. I think the 90 and 360/321 and 315 should be the target as we already have two PEPs in game.
Also it helps that two of the top 5 stations in the UK are on this route London Liverpool with 1,713 trains an Stratford 1,452 trains a day. Is one of the busiest line in fact it is busier that ECML (London King’s Cross)and WCML(London Euston) combine when it comes to amount of train traffic Clapham junction 2,587 London Bridge 1,872 London Liverpool 1,713 Stratford 1,452 London Waterloo 1,403
Thank you would love to have the GEML in game as it is beautiful in my opinion and the class 90, 360 and 321 are the cherry on top for me as well. But Originally before I posted the suggestion I did make it about the class 315 and then realised I saw quite a few Elizabeth Line suggestions recently so I thought just to add it in. The class 315 alone or the 315 as the standard train and then 345 as an optional DLC, I would not mind at all! Just wanted to see people views about the 345 but would not mind the 315 I love it equally mate
This route route has been highly requested before. However I don’t think DTG has the required license for the operator
That's why I love it, I use the GEML especially at Liverpool Street quite a lot and it's a beautiful station I hope it comes to the game at one point. I love the section when departing the station which is underground where it splits the WAML and GEML.
There is a freight depot at Ipswich with freightliner and class 90's and class 66's and also class 08's, but I believe no freight services run on the GEML but if the class 90 does get added then it could be reskinned as ai for freight at the depot also layered with the class 66 and 08 in freightliner liveries. The only freight I can think of is going to Felixstowe and Harwich.
there is alot of freight on the line going towards London from felixstowe, but most of the time freight seems to run using class 66s realtimetrains: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/se...1/0000-2359?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt&toc=ZZ
Yeah do not know a lot about the freight just know what trains are used but would be nice to have freight included.
