So. It all started with bakerloo line in tsw2 wich included a small section of the WCML towards Euston. This has track, speed limits and even signals! Next we saw Glasgow Central with the Cathcart Circle! The northern terminal of the WCML. Then we had Birmingham cross city. Wich features New street, another terminal station on the WCML. Now we have got the Glossop line featuring Manchester Piccadilly. Another terminal station as well as the Preston the Blackpool line comming soon. All of which feture stations on the WCML. Avanti West Coast even run services from Preston to Balckpool North! Also Spirit of steam adds Crewe and Liverpool! Glossop line adds Manchester Piccadilly So I see it highly likely that we might get the WCML the summer as a big release. Let me know what you think and if you agree and disagree below . I know ecml is almost confirmed but there is still a chance... But something big is definitely comming. We just have to wait and see. Probably get announcement with “Dovetail Direct” What do you think? Could it be the WCML? Could it be ECML? Is it TSW4? Something else? Let me know below or by voting.
It would be a summer release with hints to routes according to leaks and what dtg employees/contractors have said. According to epic database, the flying scotsman centenary addition which is in tsc and runs on ecml, then that's definitely possible. Then you have Brandon working on a summer contract so we know a US route is coming. For Germany, idk tbh.
Cuz a reliable and correct leaker wrote an article on it. I just say summer release cuz it's still a summer release
I have seen the articles. Even the French one. It's very likely it's tsw4. This is probably just wither it's the WCML or ECML for a base UK route.
Don’t forget SoS which has Crewe to Liverpool, all WCML, which could be converted to a more modern setting for a new WCML route. There are little sections of it in many routes and a few of the big stations but it’s a different matter connecting it all up. Maybe one day they do plan on having such a mega route when they will all pop up again but I can’t see it happening soon if ever.
At this point all we know is what it won't be... In another thread Matt ruled out the NYC subway due to access issues for research. It won't be the Somerset and Dorset Line as, while it appears this has been discussed at DTG Towers, it has not yet been adopted as a "live" project. We know it won't be another extension to SEHS as Matt pretty much confirmed that is project complete. There is a possibility of a connection with "Flying Scotsman" but whether this is the actual steam loco or a disambiguation to another use of the phrase is currently unknown. Whether it's TSW4 or just a route bundle with a service pack style upgrade, is unknown.
We know that Brandon is working on a summer contract with dtg so it could be another section of the nec or a new york route for the US release if it's meant for the summer release
I have two guesses . New Haven line or a new LIRR. I know Brandon did the LIRR for TSC which is very detail and signals are spot on . It has the new tunnels in place for Grand Central Madison. I don't think is a coincidence that NYT is being held because of one of two possible routes will be launching with TSW4 or whatever the final name
It's the full West Highland in 1988. RETB signalling. 17 37/4s all with various individual quirks and appearances. Full timetable with dynamic signalled routes. Several new wagon types and mk1, mk2 and mk3 sleepers. Plus sounds that will get your walls shaking. Or ECML 700 Azuma thingy King's Cross to Stevenage. One handle and fixed non dynamic signalling with all rolling stock Numbered 12345.
Rivet have hinted at West Highland Line fort William to Mallaig with Jacobite. This would mean sprinters would have to be included as the Jacobite service was only introduced in 1995 by west coast Railways. Unless they used the 1984 locharber service which doesn't seem as likely it would have to be sprinters. Although you could have a variety of liveries for the class 156 such as National Express ScotRail, First Scotrail, ScotRail Saltire + Abellio Logo on doors and ScotRail Saltire (blank doors)
They did, when was this? Very cool though if that does turn out to be the case but they (Rivet) will really need to bring their a game in the scenery department this time, audio/physics too if there gonna make another Sprinter.
To build the West Highland line and then stick Sprinters on it would be a tragedy of epic proportions. It was glorious in its heyday with 26s, 27s and 37s - the 37s running on well into the 90s. I suspect you’re right it’ll be Sprinters, but I hope at least they do it in the transition era (early 90s, I think) when both were running. The Jacobite would be good if they sort out the steam physics, but I suspect we’re stuck with the ‘infinite boiler pressure’ version of steam forever now.
Brandon doesn’t just do New York and NEC, he can do any route anywhere in the US, possibly anywhere in the world if it was needed.
I wouldn't be surprised if Rivet make the WHEL or some iteration of the WHL at some point. Pobably something along the lines of Thomson's TSC route. They have already supplied a refurbished class 37 with WCL so a class 37/4 would be an easy task I would imagine for them.
It could be a hint or it's just Jasper teasing but there was a major leak a while back with lots of big routes in it that dtg/partners were considering for TSW. Then there is chat about west highland line from a suggestion of mine and Jasper replies: “A Steam Train would look great over Glenfinnan Viaduct...0-0(eyes emoji)“ Previously there was a hint on one of my Edinburgh to Glasgow suggestions saying “A class 385 would be lovely too...0-0(eyes emoji)” Then we got Edinburgh to Glasgow. See where I'm going with this... EDIT: Can't find original post so I've quoted it best I can. Let me know if you can find it on Rivets forums.
Well your certainly correct about the class 385 + eye emoji thing. Maybe we'll get something announced on the 22nd, it has been a while now since we got a new dlc announcement from Rivet.
I won't be buying another rivet route again the mess they made of wcl and the 150 and havent gone back and fixed it unless they are willing to improve things
Trainguy on YouTube said he thinks it'll be like the battle of Sherman hill on TSC. We'll get the base ecml route. Probably with a Class 800 (+varients of 800 and layers). Then we'll get past, present and future train pack. For past just a Deltic For Present the Flying Scotsman Railtour And for Future a Class 91
With my diverse tastes I would like to see the Mallaig Line and the Bernina Line from St Moritz down to Tirano. It would indeed be a tragedy of epic proportions if the former was set post Sprinter introduction. 156’s are okay but we know Rivet have still not resolved the virtually identical Class 150 sounds and physics. The route really belongs to loco hauled traction, preferably Class 27 but I would take the 37 era.
Think it’s going to be something to blow your socks off….yes it’s going to be Severn Beach to Bristol Temple Meads!
