https://live.dovetailgames.com/live...uthern-heritage-livery-collection-coming-soon Not a single improvement nor a loco or car... sad.
I'm sure it'll please the handful of people who enjoy that kind of content, but surely the development hours would have been better spent finally fixing MML?
The disappointment of this year’s releases continues. But this is a new low in the excitement range for me.
Maybe if they'd upgraded Horseshoe to utilize TOD4, I'd be inclined to buy a skinpack for the route. But as it is, zero chance of me picking this up.
Wow, not, they even only used the heritage liveries that were on the GEs and did not give us a new SD40ACe with their heritage liveries. Not worth whatever it costs US.
There are texture issues with the 158, and HST they could be fixing in MML instead. There are also several scenario bugs. This exact team could be doing stuff for MML.
This is really wasting of you're money.... The reality is that freight train route have the lowest interest for players.... And I'm the same... I don't like to drive for more than 1 hour at 65km/h with nearly nothing to do.....
Friends, this seems normal to them. Repairs cannot increase income, but selling locomotives can earn some income. No matter how much it costs, players will definitely buy it. (This game must be beautiful if fixes make money!)
This is the kind of pack that is well worth waiting for 50% off in a sale. In fact, I haven’t even bought the UP heritage pack for Sherman Hill and that has been in the latest PS sale. I’d hope these liveries are of a better standard than those ones though. It’s a good variety of liveries and a handful of scenarios, fairly typical for a TSW livery pack. Will it all work though? Has anyone got any faith? Possibly not.
I wonder if they will be trying to advertise these as “new locos” as happened previously with livery packs.
Agreed, and yet, they are not selling locomotives, but have just taken a leaf out of the DTG book of recycling to death existing stock, and selling a few skins.
What wait, no conrail livery Yes, I do. HSC is peak comfy. Pretty scenery, beautiful livery, has railfans at the curve. And while the sounds are substandard they’re loud enough to drown out the wife’s whining about chores I should be doing.
Be happy. If they had not announced this pack we would have nothing to bark at until the 22nd. We should be glad we were thrown a bone.
This pack is actually cheaper than the TSC version despite missing the Conrail unit. Despite this the ES44 should of gotten a patch and HSC should of gotten a route upgrade for this pack.
Only if it turns up on Quick Play lucky dip. SPG remains a far superior driving experience across a broadly similar style of railway and if I want coal moving, Clinchfield is my goto.
Well, for once I'm swimming against the tide. For 15 bucks, 9 skins, 6 scenarios and timetable subs this is an easy purchase for me. Plus SHG are generally pretty good when it comes to paint jobs. Yes, the dynamic brakes and sounds need fixing on this loco, but I'll still bite. And the MML patch is Awol, true. But SHG has to generate some revenue, for heaven's sake. I doubt there's much left in the coffers after all the work they've done on their last route. Also, not to start an argument, but this game is not all about the UK, though you might think so reading the forum the last few months. We US players need a few morsels tossed our way.
Which is why they should have updated HSC to use the new lighting, and fixed bugs with it if they were going to release content for it. They got their revenue a few months ago when they released a DLC that is still to this day crashing playstations. The only one in TSW to do that, and they still haven't fixed it.
Not a bad price for what you are getting. Is this an early gift since it we are getting it before 8-22 announcements.......what else might be coming in
Wait, you guys expected something else than a number of liveries? If it were a loco pack, it would be named "US Loco pack" or something similar. If it were a route/loco update or upgrade, it would be titled "US Route/Train Upgrade" or "US non-viable investment". "US Gameplay and Livery" is pretty much spot on what is contained in this pack.
I think people expected some fixes before being asked to fork out for content that doesn’t appear to be wanted. I’m not sure where you got that they didn’t understand what a livery pack is?
Not strictly true... In the past DTG have used "loco pack" to describe skins or slight reworks of traction types that are already in the game.
Honestly, I’m hoping this pack turns out good in terms of the scenarios and liveries. The US market has been starved since the release of TSW 3. Since the launch of TSW 3, there has been only 1 US route released and it’s considered one of the worst routes in the game (hopefully not after the update). There have been 4 loco dlcs with only one being considered polished (Acela). I am disappointed there’s no update to the route, but as long as the liveries are polished and actually ready to be sold, then I’ll more than gladly buy it simply because TSW just needs more competent US content.
"Unfortunately", I was one who purchased the UP Heritage Package!. I had those paint schemes on Open Rails, and I liked very much, due to they are quite different, and colorful. But on TSW3 I had several paint issues, as I showed them here after using it!. At least I got some new and interesting Scenarios for the route.. But the NS ones are really very simply! Basically just horizontal lines with different colors and the company name, with "normal" - no special fonts or design - letters. I do not make the same mistake twice! I am still waiting for the BR 187 real sound!
Are these the real logos? I was looking at these liveries and immediately noticed the simple fonts. They look like made up companies
Norfolk Southern heritage units are all based on a real paint scheme from the past. It isn't like the UP, who did their own take on each railroad.
I have a funny feeling that Skyhook's Train Art (liveries) and Scenario people won't exactly be the ones doing bugfixes for MML.
Apart from, as already highlighted, some of those bugs are actually in liveries and scenarios of course.
Well, yes, but they are doing a relatively small DLC to keep money flowing at Skyhook. The bugs in liveries and scenarios can do with a little week or two without attention. Also, didn't Dovetail take over MML's bugfixes? I remember being told that.
Dunno, there was some noise about that, but the fact remains that the addon is still broken for a lot of people.
Not that I’ve heard. Dovetail created a new thread to report issues. I think some people took that to mean Dovetail had taken over, but I think it was more to do with the old thread being locked after some rather nasty posts and there needing to be a new one. Adam from Skyhook has posted updates on that thread so pretty sure it’s still Skyhooks responsibility. Don’t know about the console version though. Some people have said that DTG did the console conversion, but I don’t have any idea if that is true.
The liveries and Scenarios have had nearly four months without attention. Skyhook should fix what they already sold us, before trying to sell us something else.
Agreed. Maybe the money would flow better if content was released in a better state, rather than having to rush out skin packs to subsidise the operation.
Yep, Skyhook are currently on my "Be very cautious before buying" list along with Rivet. Seems to be a recurring theme of releasing broken/buggy routes/locos. Saying you're going to fix it, then abandoning it for the next thing to sell. So why should I spend any of my money on stuff they make?
