I agree, I wouldn’t say a big downfall would come so suddenly, but it would certainly take hits for each issue with bugs & backlash to the point it starts to fall, then the decision where next is to be foreseen. Either it can take on the feedback and act upon it or turn a blind eye and see who stays.

personally my purchases are down this TSW year, I’ve made 4 (TSW3, Bremen, Acela, 700) the rest were either I wasn’t particularly interested or far too many bugs to consider purchasing. Especially with 3rd parties I’m more sceptical on bug addressing to the point I won’t purchase any of the content unless it’s in a condition I’m near 100% happy with as I just don’t see changes coming. Some where they actually did have been months later for some of the most obvious issues.

I was really exited for Edinburgh - Glasgow, but the issues were absurd to the point i didn’t. It’s got I think 1 update considering how much it really needed them. Should have seen 3 by now due to the state it was considered “acceptable to release”

then theirs the graphics flicker on XSX which has been reported countless times for months and not 1 single “we’ve had a look into it” it just seems completely ignored. It’s an issue I look out for in preview streams, if I see it I cancel any plans to purchase, regrettably I missed an obvious issue with it and the Acela but luckily I haven’t found it on the 700. It’s on nearly every other loco.

Not until Simrail comes up with a robust singleplayer mode.

Multiplayer is a negative for me in a game like this, not a positive. So Simrail doesn't have much chance of surpassing TSW.

Wait, Simrail doesn’t even have a singleplayer mode?

It does, but they are apparently working on an upgrade for it. They also do not have all the safety systems yet. They are working on bringing ETCS first.

It looks to me they are trying to make a solid base before expanding the represented area.

It's very basic and you can't save a run in progress, despite an end to end journey taking several hours.

For me personally, SimRail was a massive disappointment.

One only has to take a look at the number of route/traction enhancement packs and patches available for TSC to know what users think of the original versions. Thing is, DTG have at times released some corkers for TSC but these have largely been more recent releases.

It's frustrating because DTG can release top quality stuff and have done, but when they release a sub-optimal DLC in TSW there isn't an editor so we're stuck with the small patches made by a few clever users or putting up with an immersion-lacking product.

I'd say the quality of base content is much higher in TSW, than in TSC. Certainly when it comes to the Trains themselves.
I haven't really felt that any of the trains in TSW need an AP pack for example.

AP have been involved with some of the trains but yes there's more functionality with them, though the lack of variety at this stage does make a lot of journeys a bit samey. But while I find TSC a more believable, immersive drive I'll be picking my TSW routes very carefully.

No, I didn't pick up the pack after all the negative feedback about it.

This is why I don't want a TSW4 until next year, TSW2 fixes got abandoned quickly and I don't want TSW3 to be abandoned only a year after release.

While admirable, you DO probably know that four rather old scenarios becoming completable and a reachable collectible is not exactly what the thread is about. There is a massive amount of not-even addressed issues with TSW2/3, and the big new release is already sidelining them... just like always.

  17. We must deal with the world as it is, not as we would like it to be. Naturally it would be nice if the issues raised in bug reports etc were examined and fixed if appropriate in a timely manner, but if allocation has been determined with a different priority in mind then that's cool. The spreadsheets that the bean counters huddle over by candlelight in the dead of night, cackling into their hooded cloaks inform those choices I guess.
