I see that trainsimcz has managed to create a mod which adds completely new services for the Class 700 to the Brighton line timetable. I didn’t know that was possible, and I’ll be keeping an eye on that thread with interest to see how well it works, but initial indications seem positive. If successful, it seems to open up a whole new world of modding possibilities.

To avoid taking the Brighton line thread off topic, I’ve created a new thread to ask the question:

What additions would you most like to see to timetables on existing routes?

    I’d go for:
    - Class 101 stopping and Class 45 express schedules on Peak Forest (recognising the trains wouldn’t be 100% accurate as they’re more modern versions, but the differences are quite small).
    - Class 40 hauled express schedules on Spirit of Steam (rider as above).
    - HST schedules between Lichfield City and Birmingham New Street on Cross City (the MML HST would be best as the VP185 engine is more realistic for the route).

Obviously none of this is to assume trainsimcz or any other modder will choose to take up the suggestions. They do the fantastic work which they do for free, and it’s entirely their choice what they work on. However, if anyone did decide to some timetable editing, they might value a few suggestions!

I just want more steam trains running on spirit of steam and Peak forest.
The 4F being put on Spirit of Steam would be great too.

From what I've read from his comments, they can only add in services if there's space to add in services. So with limitations but it's still wonderful modders can do that

Yes, most routes have space to add in services though. I think the Glossop line is one of the few exceptions, because of the very low capacity of the triangle at the East end of the route - and even then it would be possible to add services at the West end, such as a Man Picc - Rose Hill service. I struggle to think of another (UK) route where there is no spare capacity.

    .
When I can afford Peak Forest I will make some scenarios up using the 4F on SOS likewise the 8F on PF.
I just put up the class 8F and Jubilee on a Trans Pennine scenario
