Is it normal to have issues with locos not being found even though I have swapped them out and have green dots in LS? I am trying to swap a class 66 and a class 800 on a BHBP scenario ( Exmouth to Paignton) The 800 shows as a bunch of corridor joins and nothing else and the 66 comes up as cant find error even though I have the Colas livery in the ape pack? I've not had issues with LS before and I'm running 1.4.
Have you tried reinstalling the respective enhancement packs? (I'm assuming you're referring to AP enhanced versions)
You may well be correct, I have installed the new WEP and I'm sure I read somewhere that I may have to install the packs again, Thanks for the swift reply, now the joy of reinstalling everything again!
Well I've reinstalled the class 66 and it still throws an error on the scenario start up. The only thing I didn't do was to clone the scenario, as it was a standard and not career I didn't think it mattered? Should I always clone?
No, it's not necessary. Could you post a screenshot of this class 66 in LocoSwap, with its path visible?
Yes that was to show you what I am trying to install, even if I swap out those two locos and it will show green, the sim will still throw an error on the class 66.
Do you own this 66 Freightliner ? https://store.steampowered.com/app/222562/Train_Simulator_Freightliner_Class_66_v20_Loco_AddOn/ It's mandatory to have the Colas one to work.
I have just noticed that I don't have the Freightliner version of the shed oops. Now to find the simple reason that the class 800 won't show properly. Thanks for the prompt replies though and sorry to waste your time PS it's a great tool!
Hi, I have a request for the author of this very useful utility. As you can see in the attached screen shot, if the train name is too long, you can't see the designation of the train driven by the player. Unfortunately there is no way to extend the window. If there are multiple such names, it is very hard to identify the player's train. Personally, I would prefer a colored highlight. But I welcome any solution to this matter. If it would be possible to choose a larger and more contrasting font, my poor eyesight would really welcome it. But I don't know if it's technically possible.
On the contrary, I believe putting the logo at the front is better. Train names have an infinite length possible, and extending the window to fix the longest names as a fixed width cramps the window unnecessarily where long names are not present. That said, a scroll bar would solve this problem as well.
OMG, you are true. But is not comfortable. Damn, I completely missed it. Oh, yeah, my eyes are really bad. I'm sorry, but the idea of putting the sign up front is fine.
Is it possible for the window size to be saved?, each reload it goes back. same for the column widths(so can read all the text) frankoi1337
Nothing to add to the discussion, just wanted to say thanks for the tool. I’ve only recently got into Enhancement packs and was looking for a way to swap locos easily. After a bit of trial and error, this is working great for me.
Great tool that allows all of my Armstrong Powerhouse created and enhanced rolling stock to be easily taken advantage of. My only bugbear is the "Out of Fuel" issue when swapping some diesel units. I know I can use the TSC Scenario Editor to add fuel but that is a bit tedious so I have been looking at where the fuel level for each unit is stored. I assume it must be in a bin/xml file somewhere but I can's see where. Anyone have any ideas? Of course, if this was added to LocoSwap then that'd be great. Many thanks for the hard work.
with some diesel trains, when swap them, the fuel quanity is set to 0,meaning train won't move, can LSW alter this?
I don’t think it can, but happy to be corrected. I had the same problem myself today and the only way I could find to do it is to edit the scenarios then double click on the train. That enabled a menu on the right hand side of the screen and I could change the fuel level. Then I had to save the scenario and exit it. When I ran it again, it was fully fuelled. I didn’t find it easy though. It would be great if Locoswap can do it or if someone knows an easier way.
Something I did by accident yesterday: don't delete a scenario and then try to open it. It crashes the application. Might be a useful error addition if it's not already in the newest version.
Just to say . . . the same occurs with (some, at least) steam locomotive tenders. It should be possible to code it in (although I wouldn't know where to start, myself) as a certain other product seems to cope, so I would certainly support the adoption of this feature if possible.
how do i calculate new length of coach, i’m adding some rules via user config file, saves making new scenario and doing in app frankoi1337
BR Coaches, most MK1 are 20mtrs some non passenger vehicles are slightly less, Mk3 are 23mtrs. Most newer European stock is 26mtrs some older stock is 24mtrs. You could look at Google
For EU standard stock, it's 26.4 m or 24.5 m. Same for Eastern Europe. Most German dining cars are 27.5 metres. Double deckers can be 26.8
when i was swapping some 315/317’s, it crashed after loading some the . debug attached frankoi1337 https://easyupload.io/l8f10l
I am getting instant crash with v1.5.0.0 when opening Stainmore route and Weardale route . Will not allow me to upload a log file. Can anyone point me in right direction for solving this? Many thanks
I think there are scenarios with xml errors so I guess I would need to remove them as no expert in xml
I have no problems editing scenarios in the Weardale route (don´t have Stainmore). However I use the 1.5.1.0 version of Locoswap (that I believe is the latest), might be a good idea to upgrade and test again.
is there a way to add rules to different routes? like i want all the class 43 in mml to be replaced by east midland trains and in western mainlines to be replaced by gwr with one click?
This is correct for LocoSwap. In Ts-Tools, it's possible to replace ALL identical units in ALL installed scenarios for a route. This will also affect official scenarios, however (unless they are in an AP file or otherwise manually removed before running the command). However, this is still a mass edit of numerous scenarios, and train numbers may use a different format and require manual editing in each case. This is why I would recommend do one scenario at a time unless you know the format is identical and you can get away with it (such as swapping RSDL RailSimulator for Kuju RailSimulator as a unique example). LocoSwap also seems friendlier to use.
When I have tried to swap all in all routes TSTools seems to hang because of the large amount to change. I tend to do the Full Type swaps one route at a time.
Yes, this is probably fixed with 1.5.1.0. Yes, the player train information is taken from a different place than where the player train is actually defined... Not very interesting explanation I know but this minor inconvenience shall stay This is addressed in the FAQ.
