i suggest to add a route with a polish ED161 pesa dart high train. stations: Bydgoszcz Główna Bydgoszcz Leśna Bydgoszcz Wschód Solec kujawski Toruń Główny Kowalewo Pomorskie There would also run a freight train, it would be the polish ET22, and there wold run a regional train, using a EW60 EMU stopping at all the stations the route has 72 kilometers long..
That actually sounds like a good suggestion. Unfortunately, your proposal contains far too little information, and a few pictures wouldn't be bad either. I’d suggest reading this thread, which contains “guidelines for a good suggestion”: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/how-to-and-how-not-to-make-a-suggestion.72089/ That would make your suggestion a ton better and it will very likely get more attention.
Well 266km would be too long for a DTG TSW route, especially a first foray into Poland. Needs to be something a little less than 100km to stand a chance of being considered. It also needs to be put against the DTG LAMP process for content suggestions, as detailed in the sticky thread at the top of this section.
I can agree with that, the route would be too long as the first such in a completely new country. However, I can't really argue that this route would be too long for TSW in general. Here are my thoughts: Dovetail Games had far surpassed itself in terms of route length with the Kassel - Würzburg high-speed line. Starting from this, my calculation (it may not make sense to some, but anyway): Kassel - Würzburg, at 186 kilometers, is about 1.8 times the length of the route that was previously considered the longest in Train Sim World. And the route proposed here is only about 1.4 times as long as Kassel - Würzburg. Resulting from this: Even though the route may seem a bit long at the beginning, the jump in terms of length to already existing routes in Train Sim World is not that big. This line of thought may not make sense to everyone, but based on this calculation, I believe that future Train Sim World routes may well exceed the 200 km mark. Nevertheless, the view that a route of 266 kilometers as a start into a new country is perhaps a bit excessive is definitely justifiable as well. And, of course, much more information and pictures need to be added to the suggestion before the community will go into more detail about it.
Kassel to Wurzburg was nearly 50% in long tunnels, or otherwise through generic wooded hills. Only three stations and population centres to build. So it doesn't really compare with a "classic" route of similar length, in terms of time and resources to make.
You may be right about that, but I think Train Sim World has the potential to move into the realm of longer routes. I think it's about time TSW offered more extensive journeys. The appeal of a railway simulator is its ability to provide players an authentic and immersive experience of operating trains and navigating real-world rail networks. Longer routes inherently allow for a more in-depth and realistic simulation, offering players a greater sense of accomplishment as they traverse extensive distances, interact with various types of terrain, and experience the intricacies of managing a longer journey. In an age where simulation technology has advanced significantly, allowing for detailed and realistic depictions of larger environments, it is feasible to create longer routes without really sacrificing quality. Therefore, I think it is worth considering venturing into more complex and longer routes.
Oh I fully agree with you, here in the UK too, there are several routes which we would rather see modelled for a reasonable length than the short “essays” DTG keep putting out. It’s just breaking through their commercial mind block that seems to get in the way.
Excellent idea overall however when in the German language version of the game you will use the following names Warschau Hauptbahnhof Deutsch Eylau Hbf. Because German speakers cannot pronounce polish city names correctly that is why they just use the German names of a particular polish city. The end point used to be in East Prussia
