Don’t get me wrong, but what is it with this company. Why pay for things if it isn’t going to work. TSW3 has been out for 6 months and yet we are still unable to drive the baby bullet cab car, without having to spawn in on foot and sometimes not have it show up at all. Ridiculous. Why is no one attempting to rectify this issue. I would’ve kept calm but it’s obvious no one at DTG is addressing this issue and attempting to fix this. Madness this is.
100% agree with you, the most galling part for me is that they STILL have the nerve to sell this despite knowing 50% of the DLC is virtually unplayable unless like you say you start on foot and it happens to spawn by chance. Same issue the Rapid Transit BR182. Apart from this one 50% is totally unplayable. Both issues created by the introduction of TSW3 and both unresolved to this day.
Speaking of that, what’s worse is that they’re actually promoting that half broken DLC with their new bundle.
So a bundle aimed at new players includes a pack 50% broken. Thats really a good way to impress new players to the game and make them want to stick around. Nice one DTG
And then speaking about the Baby Bullet… not only is the Cab Car being selectable broken, there’s also Livery Designer Back in TSW 2, the Baby Bullet train already had Livery Designer compatibility. The MP36PH Loco, BiLevel coaches, and BiLevel cab car were all individually selectable in Livery Designer. In TSW3, they combined all of them together, kinda like an EMU, in the livery designer This resulted in; - Any liveries you had in TSW 2, didn’t transfer to TSW 3 at all, they’re not compatible anymore, they took them away from us - You can’t individually paint either the loco or coaches, so something like an MBTA MP36PH isn’t possible anymore - Custom liveries can’t be used in Scenario Planner - Custom liveries can only be used for 6 car trains - Custom Liveries can only be used from the loco end, not the cab car end. They unnecessarily changed the livery designer formations for whatever reason, and now stuff such as GO Transit scenarios on Oakville aren’t possible anymore.
Shocking state of affairs. Making Peninsula Corridor playable again is clearly not a priority. I’m assuming it is still on sale as well. The issue is with both cab cars. It isn’t good enough just to spawn on foot because you don’t know what kind of service you will be driving, as to know that you need the timetable. Players buying it now must be very bemused.
Wouldn't surprise me if DTG redid Peninsula Corridor in the future and tried to sell it as a new route (Not sure it would be a candidate to the same treatment as SEHS got) Either way, older DLCs are screwed in TSW3 and nothing is fixed...
Well if you’re on PC, I can offer you this in the meantime: https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...by-bullet-cab-car-selectable-in-the-timetable Unfortunately for console, just hope DTG gets around to it eventually
Don’t really think a Gilroy extension is worth it, I think if Peninsula Corridor were to get a major upgrade, it’d be electrification in a few years time with the Stadler KISS EMU’s. I’d say LIRR is the major candidate for a “SEHS style treatment” on the American side.
Don’t jump on the grumble wagon very often but have to agree here. Peninsula was one of my favourite routes and the constant issues here, the cab car the latest, is just awful. So much potential, so much waste.
So far, I've only played Peninsula Corridor in TSW2. Does anyone know why the F40PH-2CAT cannot be used in created scenarios? I notice that it's selectable in TSW3, but not in TSW2. P.S. I was planning to buy the Baby Bullet DLC if it comes up in a sale, but now I'm not so sure.
Gilroy isn't worth it cuz trains rarely go there and come from there. I counted like 5 total services in a single day. So would be a waste of time to build when is going to be empty anyways. If dtg ever remade peninsula corridor, it would be the electrified version which is still a while off.
There is the freight side of Peninsula Corridor that is lacking, at least 2 branch lines (Port of Redwood and the line to the Cement Plant to Permanente) Pier 39. UP subbing with Sherman Hill for the dirty dirt train. Passenger side, an updated timetable to Tamien is fine enough, the 6 services to Gilroy can be skipped.
We’ve been hearing about a Caltrain fix for months. Where is it? When will it be available? What is it actually going to fix, other than making the Cab Car available again? The roadmaps keep mentioning a “huge” update - I recall the same “huge” update for LIRR in the TSW2 days; that update actually broke several things which worked, and added no real value (additional traffic, dispatcher system overhaul, tunnel reverb). DTG could make some real money on these legacy routes if they gave them a proper update/overhaul. There is a solid business case for remastered routes like this. That said, my expectations are low, especially given the state of Penn Station in the recent Trenton release.
I presume it was missed as it’s never been their as far as I’ve known and as updates/fixes (especially for preserved content) are “insert rariety here” it was never part of them
'Blood & Custard' Coaches for service mode on SOS, crying in a corner... And so does the Jubilee & 8F due to a leaking boiler
Yeah, but you´ve got (some) working lifts, moths, tough weather resistant, non luggage carrying passengers with umbrellas, very popular baseball caps in Germany, 3D clouds, sparks, (sometimes too) dynamic weather, snow wash FX and ................ So, WTH are you complaining about?
SF to SJ also still needs some reliability fixes, with occasional crashes occurring. However as others have stated above, I would rather any route building effort went into something new on the West Coast, maybe LA to Palmdale via Soledad (Metrolink), Surfliner etc.
Yeah, DTG just don’t want to put the effort into NYC, so good luck trying to convince me to buy any more of that. As for Peninsula corridor, I really liked this route back when I was on PS4. Never had the chance to try it on PS5 with 4k & better frame rate, because it’s been broken for that long. For me the route degraded after the TSW2 port, it broke the sound on the MP36.
So, we're now in July and we still cannot select a baby bullet cabcar service in timetable mode aaaaaaand...... I am currently playing Penn Corridor and not seeing any MP36s subbing in anywhere..... so does that mean you cannot have MP36s unless you actively choose to start your service in one?
This route crashes every single time I play it on ps4 and ps5, so consider yourself lucky if you can even run it. As soon as I get near the 2nd stop after SF, boom, game locks up.
I think everything is already fixed and they want to surprise us next month with an announcement of a new and nearly perfect TSW4, where every dlc is playable again. A guy can dream can't he?
I was on Peninsula Corridor today. Baby Bullets at San Francisco and I passed a couple along the line as well. But was that an anomaly?
Hey I mentioned it somewhere on forums recently but the baby bullet cab car is playable in timetable mode just in a bit of an awkward way. First I am on ps4 so can't speak for PC/Xbox being able to do the workaround. But when I choose "to the trains", "train depot", "timetable", and choose the MP36PH-3C, it will show both northbound AND southbound services in the timetable. So you can do northbound and drive the cab car or do southbound and drive the loco. Hopefully this helps. I just did this moments ago to make sure is still working after recent patch and is indeed working!
For LIRR you have multiple choices one to Babylon which in turn they'll simply overtake a Huntingdon Deer Park McArthur Airport Ronkonkoma Train between Penn Station and Jamaica. Also the Bellmore Wantagh Seaford Terminating trains Option 2 Port Washington Branch and lastly Option 3 GCT with passageway to the Harlem Line. Speaking of the Stadler KISS they're going to be in revenue service in late 2024. Therefore SFJ needs the 2024-2025 timetable. If 2024-2025 Timetable were made Baby Bullet and Stadler Kiss co exist
Seriously, where the hell is this? It was announced in December 2021 (see link below) that the Preservation Crew was working on an update. Caltrain is a great route, and upgrade is, and has in order for quite some time. Between 12/2021 and today, how has this not yet been released? Also, while we're on the topic of long-promised and long-delayed, what in god's name is taking the DB BR 420? Unless these two items are part of the upcoming release, its high time that these get pushed out the door. I want to play Caltrain again, because it is a thoroughly solid route, but without using a mod or using the manual workaround for the cab car, I've found myself completely uninterested. https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/tsw2-roadmap-14-december-2021
i really un-satisfied with this great route only for this. why don't we have choice of selection although we have the car?
On a related note, as I haven’t tried it recently, does the bug where selecting a Baby Bullet (loco) run from Journey mode still result in it being subbed by the F40?
Haven't noticed this either during the very few runs I did in TSW3 on this route, but what I also noticed is that the spawn rate of MP36 AI services is very low, sometimes zero appearances over the entire route.
I loaded into the MP36 once I got TSW 3, and yeah the sounds are weird. It’s a shame because back in TSW 2020 it was my favourite US route. Makes you wonder who they had working on this route, broken sounds coming from TSW2020 > TSW2, then broke the timetable in TSW 3. I don’t think anyone at DTG particularly cares about this one, which is weird considering they put 2 additional DLC’s into it. Maybe Caltrain stopped paying attention to DTG?
Learn some patience on tsg dlcs. It has been repeated many times but the 420 is not ready yet. Tsg has not been working on it everyday for the past 2 years. The team got pulled into all dtg projects which takes priority. Maik says he's in no hurry to release the 420. Then tsg decided to make the g6 and niddertalbahn. And I think now they're starting to work on it again unless dtg borrows them of course. From what I've read recently from other forum members and stuff, the physics is being redone, sounds still need to be implemented and the gameplay. There's also some new features coming as well. Then it needs to go through testing and given how tsg is a perfectionist, it's gonna be a while.
I’ve owned the game since launch and have indeed learnt to be very patient when it comes to DTG. Further, I love the game and am grateful to the DTG team for the work that they do in bringing us a fantastic product. My main point of consternation is the Caltrain update and the fact that a patch has not been effected in over a year. My question re the 420 was more of a post text.
With regard to the F40 subbing in on MP36 when selecting a Journey run on the latter… Sorry to report but still happening.
Please provide details: which journey and service it happens for you? do you play on PC or console? Maybe the issue is service specific, maybe it's platform specific.
No it's a long standing issue affecting every service you try and pick in Journey mode for the MP36. It has been mentioned before and I think even acknowledged by DTG, but that seems as far as it went with this forgotten DLC. Oh and I'm on PC/Steam.
When I wrote yesterday that it doesn't happen to me, I actually tried it: opened SFJ route, picked a Baby Bullet service, and completed it. No issues. It's true, I only tried one service in Journey Mode, but that means not every service is broken, or at least not on XSX.
Maybe not every service, but it still needs a f... fix! It can't be that difficult to implement. We have been waiting long enough.
I’m a patient person but this by far is my most frustrating issue with this game. Such a phenomenal DLC and the lack of attention and fixing is just a shame.
Does anyone have the mod that used to fix this? I really want to actually use the cab car, but am currently completely locked out from it.
