I think the only non steam route I dont have (I only have uk routes so far apart from tgv) is west Somerset so disappointed not to see that on sale.

 

West Somerset is worth buying for the non sale price. Best route for me in terms of scenery accuracy. Know the line well and it’s pretty good, better than others.

Hopefully Microsoft will soon have an xbox sale! Don’t hold your breath though. Not many products are likely to be in an xbox sale.

 

They effectively get the game for free on gamepass anyway, which is why theirs hardly any sales on dlcs

 

Given that Bassmaster Fishing is currently on PS+ Extra, could we see Train Sim World 4 launch on PS+? Probably not but you never know

 

To my recollection, TSW has never appeared on the ps plus.

 

Maybe they should because I noticed that no-one in my friends list owns TSW3. I did have "friends" owning TSW2

 

I would not hold out hope for them putting this game on any service other than Xbox Game Pass. They have a trial for PS Plus Premium members for TSW3 that includes exactly ONE route to try. I don't know the reasoning behind giving so little option in a trial to sell a game with HUNDREDS of available options, but that is a decision that Dovetail made (which may be based on limitations in Sony's digital store, I don't know.) What's interesting is a while back they were in the trial (around the time Construction Simulator got added) and that included all the 3 "standard" TSW3. It was removed within days from when I first saw it. What changed and why are you now offering such a limited experience for a limited time fpr PS Plus Premium trials?

€ 8,99 for Deluxe ist the price I'm willing to pay regarding the annual release strategy from DTG. Going to have some fun with TSW 4 untill next year and then I'm going to buy TSW 5 when TSW 6 is around the corner.
Really liked the Rush Season Pass for TSW 2and bought it Day one, but as TSW is now a yearly release I have no problem to wait for a year.

 

Big discount for TSW4, can anyone who already has TsW4 on PS5 whether the external camera works properly yet? Remember reading that this wasn't working properly when released, I use it a lot on TSw3.

 

I see the LIRR upgrade version for £20.99. That’s very tempting. After watching plenty of YouTube playthrough’s this route has peaked my interest.

 

Is that the fast free external camera? If so, no it's still broken

 

TSW4 Deluxe is on PS store for £7.99 , that seems like a good deal ? Will be using PS4.

OK going by what I've read the Scotsman is meh, the WSR upgrade seems good as I already have that. Later I may get the Blackpool dlc, so I can use the jub, 8f, 31, 20s 37 on there.

edit: with TSW4 on PS4 is it possible to change motive power on timetables trains? If you wanted to swap a 47 hauled train to a 31? Or is this only something for scenario mode?

 

Yeah the external fast free one i use it a lot in TSW3 & used to in TSW2 as well, thanks for confirming.

Being able to quickly change to external camera in one click on the PS5 controller is key for me in the overall experience of driving the trains, so if its not working then even at £7.99 doesn't make me tempted to buy it. Will see if Dovetail 'fix' it in TSW5 or whatever the next release will be.

Interesting. For me, on PS5, TSW3 Standard Edition is still $35. I don't have it and was thinking to buy to get the routes. But it's priced fully and decided not to buy. Anyone else on PS Plus able to get TSW3 for $10???

I decided to upgrade to TSW4 Special Edition as it was only $10-12. I had the standard edition and figured those extra routes and locos were basically for free.

 

If you mean pressing the right stick and getting a camera that follows your train, then yes that still works fine. If you mean using the camera to quickly zip up the track and then position it so you can watch the train race past then the quickly zipping part is broken, so you won't be able to race ahead of the train.

 

I must re-re-confirm this shunting in RSN with the 363 is great!

 

Hello I see the sales in continental Europe are different. In my wish list I see:
- Vectron: 70%
- DB BR 183: 50%
- Blackpool: 20%

I believe I am gonna go for the Vectron but I am hesitating with the other 2. Any recommendation?

OldVern I think I saw that you never bothered with TSW4 on PS5 though I forget the reasons - so here's a heads up that the deluxe version is on PSN for the princely sum of £8 (base routes plus Vectrex and Flying Scotsperson)

Well - unless DTG does something completely unprecedented, once TSW5 releases, compatible content will be on sale again periodically as usual. And if you buy these DLCs, they will be usable in TSW 2, 3 & 4 as well even if you don’t have TSW5.
That being said, sales usually slow down a bit when the new title gets released, so if you have your eyes on a DLC that is cheap right now, chances are this will be your best chance to get it for that price before fall/winter. Generally, the best sales seem to be in spring-summer.

 

Yeah, DTG stuff is quite often heavily reduced. I actually ment, that this might be the last chance to get the Deluxe Edition for that price. Three core routes plus the Scotsman and the Vectron for € 8,99 was a no brainer for me. Last year this time around I bought the TSW 3 Standard edition for around 10 Euros. I'm planning to do the same with TSW 5 or however DTG is going to call the next cashgrab.
I was a full price payer for TSW 1, 2, 3 and the Rush Hour Season pass, but since DTG made the EA move I have no problem to wait for a year to buy the game.

New sales landed on PS Store today valid until 15th of August. Also with Semmeringbahn for 25€ in 30% discount.

 

BML is in the updated PS sale. Just picked it up, may be an older route but can absolutely see it being one of my most played. It's really busy and has a load of service pattern variety - just a pity it's all the same type of rolling stock.

 

Absolutely, good point. Taking advantage of bundle sales is a power play. Getting the TSW 2020 deluxe edition for a few bucks back in early 2021 allowed me to kickstart my TSW “career”
