Here is my experience with IOW 2022. Spend £7.49 on the route. Install route. Start game to play route. Select Class 484 tutorial. Game crashes. Restart game, select tutorial again. Game crashes. Restart game, select a scenario. Game crashes. Restart game, select timetable mode on foot. Game crashes. Refund route. What a pathetic company(ies).
Never had a single crash, and i made quite a few miles on this route. Maybe you have a hardware problem?
Same here, never a single crash on this route. Might want to check your hardware or sometimes even verifying your core game files can help random crashes (if you're on steam anyway).
I'm all in for bashing Rivet when the opportunity rises, but IoW 2022 was actually a rather fine little DLC. Never had a performance problem or crash, and it's a nice little ride through the cool countryside and seaside. Even visited the place this year, and yeah, pretty accurate.
Never had any stability issues (PC) but I found it strangely unsatisfactory. The signalling is set up wrong so you end up with clear distant signals on to a stop home signal. The Class 484 accelerates like a bat out of hell and on full power sounds more like a DMU than the D78 stock the trains were converted from. The redeeming feature is that Rivet have crafted some interesting scenarios and Journey, given the limitations of an 8 mile route with one train. However it’s not one that tends to feature regularly in my route rotation.
I have the exact same experience on PC (MS Store variant, running from XBox app). The route works perfectly fine on XSX though.
Both IoW never crashed for me, but I had problems with different routes (Nahwerker Dresden, London - Brighton, Tharandter Rampe etc.) that would both crash on launch or in specific places on the route. Verifying files on Steam fixed this.
If you’re playing with mods, the GWE Lighting enhancement mod causes crashes on IOW22. The route runs extremely well on both PC and PS5 in my experience.
Just to clarify, there are no mods installed for the route, and there is no need to verify the game files immediately after installing the route, especially if everything else works fine. And even if my mods were somehow affecting the route, again every other route doesn't have the same problem. In all my years of TS and TSW I have never had a DLC that has a 100% crash rating, and if I was taking my whole game library on PC into account the only game I can remember that also had that rating was the PC port of Mac Payne. I am not planning on getting the route fixed. If it starts working magically before the refund comes through so be it, but it's a route that's still a little too crappy for me to really be bothered about. I do not have this mod.
I play it on ps4 and can't say it's ever crashed on me, as others have said it's not one I play often but it always works ok.
It has never crashed on me either. I think it is a nice little route for when you want a short drive. I certainly wouldn't say it was "crappy", if I thought that I would certainly not have bought it in the first place.
Never had a problem with this route, it sounds like an individual problem rather than a game one. Maybe contact someone from rivet instead of constantly doing the same thing expecting it to work
If it didn't work, wouldn't this forum be full of people complaining about it. Obviously something is going wrong but isn't it a bit disingenuous to state that DTG/Rivet are "pathetic" and presuming it is a faulty piece of DLC when it clearly isn't a widespread problem? Have you contacted support for help?
Sorry, I can't believe you're actually trying to say that a DLC crashing 100% of the time is somehow my fault? I have mods installed. If every other route in the game runs flawlessly with those same mods installed (well, as flawlessly as this game can run them), another route not being playable in any capacity with those same mods is clearly a fault of the route. It's especially ironic when the mods that I have installed are the ones needed to make the game worth playing in the first place. If I was using a third party DLC in TS and whenever I tried to use it the game would crash, clearly it's the fault of the DLC. Not sure what's changed, but the TSW community seems to have become overly complacent with things. It's heartbreaking really. I couldn't care less about it not being a widespread issue, it shouldn't be an issue at all.
Well I can't believe that you can somehow juxtapose something I didn't say from something I did say? I neither stated or implied it was your fault, you seem to be castigating others without even investigating though.
I bought IOW 22 last week for a few bucks after we took a trip to the Isle of Wight. The route is amazingly accurate and runs very smoothly for me.
User error with hardware I'd say. This route is very stable. But nobody wants to blame themselves do they?
Would hate for you to miss out on arguably rivets best route. Arguably their only good route (though I sort of like Arosa but only when it snows because the scenery is among the worst). Hopefully you can get that sorted.
I've had a couple of TSW post-download verifications result in re-downloads. Hiccups happen. Always, always verify. Especially if you're having problems others aren't. This doesn't follow. It just takes one conflict between one route + patch. Every route is different, and every mod is an unofficial third-party patch that you takes your chances with. By definition, a clash between an unofficial mod and an official route is on the mod. On the other hand... If you don't think you'll like the route anyway, then there's no more that needs to be said.
Hi, I never got a crash on PC. But I do not drive on this route very often because the Class 484 handling is bad, too much acceleration and strange behavior.
It's got to be a User end error, I have not had any issues on PC. Try and post the crash logs if you can. And also, fresh installs don't guarantee files download correctly. I've had (with other games) to verify caches on new dlc because something corrupted on first download. Edit- seeing as multiple people are saying they had an issue WITH mod conflict, then I suspect it is HIGHLY LIKELY you have a localised error causes by a mod. And thus, not a DTG/Rivet Issue
Yes and no. Yes basically it should, but I think for people posting in this topic it works. However,a PC is a very complec system, where each individual component has some hidden issues. If you combine it all, you may run into a problem other people do not experience. That does not make the product bad, or crappy, but for you that is not a solution of course. If you don't want to contact Rivet, it's OK but then do not expect any solution. For me, it feels like you blame the product. I see no reason for that, it is bad luck for you.
