I’m just curious about something regarding unit numbers on the ICE3 trains in game (both 403 and 406).

In game, every coach from front to back on the ICE3 has the same unit number. For example I just loaded Munchen Augsburg in a 403 and every coach from front cab to back cab was 403 015-3. Also happens in KWG (including rainbow) and on the 406 in Koln Aachen.

The ICE1 is different, the front and rear power cars along with each coach have different numbers.

Is that a bug or prototypical for the Ice3? I’ve never seen one in real life.

I think it’s part of some strange issue or a missed oversight or just not a feature, I looked into an identical/similar thing with the class 43 on an old thread somewhere.

it’s likely not reality but is in TSW

I imagine the Pride ICE is unique to one set in reality however as it’s selectable in game, it means it’s set to spawn on any such set

Yes that is what got me thinking about it originally. I always assumed that the numbers were all the same because its an EMU and one "train" (just like the Javelin).

Then when I got the rainbow livery I saw that it would appear on multiple unit numbers, so I was curious if in real life it was on multiple units or just one... so when I looked it up, the info I found was that it is on only one train (named Munchen, as in TSW) and that the end car unit numbers for the rainbow train are 403 022-7 and 403 504-4. So the fact that rainbow livery shows up on all different unit numbers is technically incorrect. This info also implies that at least the end cars should have separate unit numbers, so I watched some videos online and it looks like every car on the train should have its on unit number, not all the same like in TSW (so the ICE3 should work the same way as the ICE1 where each end unit and passenger car spawns with its own number).

That would mean its possibly a bug (like the current HST on MML where both power units and every passenger car have the same unit number).

If it is a bug, I am surprised I didn't see it mentioned anywhere when I searched the forum. Germans usually notice EVERYTHING.

TSW seems to be a bit all over the map when it comes to "special" liveries. I.E. the trainbow Javelin only shows up on the "correct" unit (395 012), isn't selectable from the menu, and you only ever see it once at a time as it should be in real life (at least I've never seen two of them at a time). Then you have the ACS-64 TSW wrap (Unit 662). That one is selectable from the menu, always has the correct unit number (662), but seems to be able to appear multiple times in the "world", so you will sometimes see two 662s next to eachother, or pass one leaving Boston but then see another one parked at the Boston yard, etc. Then when it comes to the Rainbow ICE, it is selectable, seems to show up with random unit numbers, and you can also see multiple at the same time (I've seen two of them coupled together).

Minor details to some I guess but I kind of like the unit numbers as being indicators of a specific train so its a annoyance to see them improper or doubled.
