Hi everyone In this route suggestion i want to show a country that lies in the middle of Europe, namely Belgium which has its own advantages in terms of Train Traffic. Some examples to give are already short distances between stations - large cities, many options for different lines, through-flow freight. traffic / International, New safety system ETCS already active on many lines, including between Leuven and around Brussels. The rest still use TBL together with Crocodile (railway) it is very similar to the AWS only active on the lines where no ETCS (ERTMS) has been installed yet. The following are the trains - railway line in question Station's L25 Antwerpen-Centraal Antwerpen-Berchem Mortsel-Deurnesteenweg Mortsel-Oude God Hove Kontich-Lint Duffel (Extra L13 Kontich - Lier ) Mechelen-Nekkerspoel freight transport Mechelen Spoorlijn 53 Passenger traffic AS freight transport Mechelen Muizen Haacht Wespelaar Hambos Wijgmaal Leuven 36N Passenger trains only And International trains such as the ICE 3 that comes from Frankfurt and travels over the l36 to get to Brussels South Boortmeerbeek Brussels Airport Nossegem Kortenberg Erps-Kwerps Veltem Herent Leuven Engine Power (trains) First choice MR08 Desiro ML after the M7 one of the newest EMU in Belgium built by Siemens Mobility so also very similar to the Austrian or German version Do reach speeds of up to 160 KM H that you can easily reach between Leuven and the airport The second is a slightly older one from the 1980s called the MS80 or also BREAK is as fast as the Desiro 160 KMH completely renewed a while ago approximately between 2009 and 2020 meanwhile these also have ETCS Some unique aspects of this train are Pneumatic swing swing doors, Interesting brake handling. Only train set in EUROPE, Traction motors are completely in the first part where you can see those three turnips in the picture. Brakes and compressor are located where the packer/first class is located at the yellow lines. built by La Brugeoise et Nivelles the first EMU with GF coupling HLR 77 Diesel Locomotive Aandrijving Diesel hydraulisch Manufacturer Siemens-Vossloh only the engine Anglo Belgian Corporation Are specially made for shunting service / cargo Transportation Only drawback HLR 77 is not powerful enough to pull heavy coal and steel trains, for example therefore most use class 66 (Crossrail,DB Cargo, Euro Cargo Rail ) locomotive or Electric 186 traxx (HLE 28). Infrabel still uses old HLD 62 to avoid these problems. if there is something wrong with it Any comment is welcome
Excellent idea and your suggestion actually merges with my own Belgian suggestion the Spoorlijn 36 Brussel Zuid Leuven Luik Ligne 36 Bruxelles Gare du Midi Louvain Liège. The am08 or in Dutch MS08 runs both Brussels and Antwerp commuter rail. From my L36 suggestion to this route the following locos will run here MS96 AM96 HLE22 and HLE27 locos with M6 carriages. Not sure if AM39-73 Classics from my L37 suggestion run here so is the M7 Carriages self-propelled version has a BMx cab car in actual Dutch documentation Stuurrijtuig P trains or not?
yes for 100% Between Leuven - Brussels completely, every year it is also expanded just like every Belgian train almost ETCS also support By 2025, the entire Belgium railway system should be equipped with ETCS and TBL will be a thing of the past
Insta-purchase for me. I think Belgium would suit perfectly as the next country to be introduced to Train Sim World.
Very rarely now. Until a few years ago occasionally and even in 2010 no other trains ran there than MS66,MS62 (AM39-73) I just don't fully understand your last question ? Bmx M7 - driving coach carriage As in the documentary, the other side if it is not a HLE 18/19 has a motorized M7 carriage
Regarding the Last question, it's about P trains SNCB/NMBS rush hour trains from Antwerpen to Leuven are there M7s on it or not? That's my question. In other Belgian cities these are assigned to AM08 French language Dutch MS08s or AM96s
even forget for a moment Another serious deal for freight trains that I forgot is that just after Antwerp Berchem you have a huge shunting yard for goods. I don't know to what extent other Countries have this, it seemed like a totally new experience for the cargo you can experience in Train Sim World. Below some videos that explain it better than words. Extra short kilometers from the Antwerp region Bundel B2, Antwerpen-Noord stations in between Antwerpen Berchem Antwerpen-Luchtbal Antwerpen-Noorderdokken video's on YouTube In order not to get lost, one more thing that does not even require an extra 1 kilometer. Just behind Mechelen station there is a second but smaller depot called Muizen (Freight depot)
As far as I know not really, I can always be wrong they don't come on this area (on each section you will see different trains d AM75 and Class 41 DMUs usually above and before the 41 always. Thalys, Benelux is standard in the lower part where they also do not have to reverse direction. The rest is the same in everything, only no M7,I11,M4; Still very occasionally as a P train you still have HLE 21/27 with M5 Dubbeldecker wagons,M4): Between Ostend - Eupen which also automatically means Leuven - Brussels (M7, I11, MS86) Usually it is MS96 DMT, MS80 BREAK, MR08 Desiro ML that pass through the diabelo tunnel (25N) HLE 18/19 M6 are already running everywhere, at least at every major station
My heart bleeds knowing all of this won't be in TSW4 On the positive side: I will not need to spend days making tickets of everything that is missing on this route as I would be finally an expert of a route on this forum
