Just posted in the other thread. Really pumped for Antelope/Soledad. This is a route I wanted to drive ever since reading about a trip down to LA from Bakersfield with the Oil Cans in an old 90’s Trains magazine. Part of the route from Palmdale to Ravenna is in the SIAM 1991 Tehachapi/Mojave traffic simulation.
The area where Newhall Tunnel emerges under the freeway intersection is going to be an awesome bit of scenery, if done right.
It gets one over on Run 8 who have yet to include this section in their otherwise splendid SoCal and Arizona network.

So zero new loco's. As always.

It's sad that this is not a diesel Amtrak route. Then we would have received P42DC(or some newer Siemens) and a set of coaches for various routes where these services are running.

Metrolink would receive new stock if it was truly modern, their EMD F125's in which they are the only operator of these locos plus their Hyundai Rotem commuter and cab cars. metrolinkf125920.jpg

I don't think we have any "truly modern" routes in TSW. All of them(if I remember it right) are preCOVID or older.

I bet they reuse assets from Cajon.

Part of me feels like they picked the route so they could reuse some scenery assets from Cajon Pass, its only 40ish miles from the Antelope Valley.

The 1st loco ran in 2017, though they were slow with deliveries, but they should still fit a 2017-2019 route ok.

The only downer I can personally see about Soledad, is that it’s another route where 50% of the time will be spent in near silence driving from a cab car. Out of curiosity, do the cab cars normally face towards Palmdale, or LA? Hopefully the former so you can get the “thrash” climbing the gradient, though if I remember the Trains Oil Can article correctly there’s a bit of a climb towards Newhall southbound, too.

    Unfortunately I don't see a picture there
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By the way, this route goes to 3 countries, besides Germany and Austria, it also goes to St. Margrethen and Rorschach in Switzerland. I think we will get more than 1 vehicle with the route. I think in any case the ÖBB Talent as S-Bahn & REX, double-decker Wiesel with Taurus as REX and in long-distance traffic the ÖBB Eurocity, Nightjet or Railjet...

Based on this video, Locos lead towards Landcaster, cabcars to LAUPT

The "German" route is Austrian and set in Vorarlberg it appears. Not a route expansion.

Not sure on that, just know that the website files pointed to TSW4 Antelope, and TSW4 Vorarlberg.
I'm assuming it would be something like last years TSW3 deluxe release, where the fourth route was Spirit of Steam, so likely an older route bundeled with it for cheap.

A Dresden revamp isn’t completely out the picture..

On the Epic Database there were 4 listings, a US, UK, Central European and German listing. So there must be something else coming.

In fact, I believe this Austrian route further backs up the chance of us getting a DRA extension. Obviously we will get new trains for this Austrian route, but new trains are not needed for a DRA revamp (they didn’t include any last year with the SEHS extension). So this would be up to the route artists, and the gameplay team, no loco artists required.

I don’t think a German route of some sort is ruled out at all. upload_2023-8-17_9-56-27.png

Yea never expected that .This route was requested July of 2020 and received 11 likes and thread had 7 replies. Odd choice, odd start. Really doesn’t make sense to me. Probably chosen because many desert scenery was cut and paste from Cajon pass. it is what it is. Another boring US route. I can see to make it look that it has many services the 19 services will probably be split into 4 like Glossop line was.

Each to their own as I am now quite hyped for Antelope/Soledad.

However it will be interesting to see how DTG cope with representing the complex and massive LA metropolitan area. This is a place you can see lit up at night from miles away with ambient lighting and the effects as you drop down through Newhall ought to be spectacular. I remember the first time flying to LA from the UK (it was a Continental DC10 on the second leg from Newark, yes it is that long ago!) and the flight path crossed San Bernardino then west towards LAX, it was like floating over a carpet of lights.l

Really hope this Dresden extension rumour turns out to be true. It was easily the best offering to come out of Rush Hour. Having it upgraded to TOD4 (or beyond?) and extended, hopefully to Leipzig with added LZB action, will make it the ultimate German route with a bit of everything in the gameplay.

Its from their website, with TSW4 in it's title. Healthy skepticism is a good trait, you're going past that into denial at this point.

unless I'm missing something I only see 3 pre-order DB so meaning only see 3 routes being launch.
Now the qestion is why is smithfield101 only for preorder? There is no stand alone Smithfield101.
By the way these DB were last updated 8/14

Personally I'd be very happy if the list is:

    - Antelope (US)
    - ECML section (UK)
    - Vorarlberg (CE)
    - Route extention a la SEHS (DE)

Although in many ways, if I'm honest, I'm probably more anxious to find out how older DLCs will be treated with the change to TSW4 - there were so many problems with TSW2-3 (red lights, no save game functionality!! quite a few journeys broken). More than any new routes, I would very much welcome an end to the issues, even without TOD4 updates.

You don't need more than 3 pre orders if it's Dresden. It's already in the store. A pre order for Dresden would make no sense

So we already have two routes ,Antelope and Voralberg. That leaves one more which should be the UK route.
Voralbergh route goes into Lindao which is in Germany.

I think more likely the new Austrian route will be in the standard edition with any extended German route contained in a Deluxe version.

Don’t forget, TSW3 had several tiers depending what you wanted, from a one route starter pack to the full on everything Deluxe version. The difference this time (maybe) is that unlike SoS which was offered as originally built, the fourth route might be an extended one. TSW3 only had two genuine new routes as SEHS was a rework and extension of the existing route which most players already owned.

Maybe the German route will be a DLC after the launch of tsw4 and not a base route? Or vise versa.
Maybe the Austrian route will come as deluxe??

Yeah 4 routes for the normal version is to cheap so if you can sell the Deluxe edition includes a new route you can ask a higher price.

My guess would be that it’s part of the Flying Scotsman centenary. So probably modern day but that is pure guesswork based on what I‘d like it to be.
