no, the same way each route is built differently (especially how they did early ones like GWE) it’s irrelevant as GWE is as much a route as Mainz Koblenz for a recent example.

If DTG completely went and changed every way back to how they did GWE then you would only notice its drawbacks, not say it isn’t a route.

Theirs many ways DTG can use for extensions or mergers, creating routes. how they end up doing it will only have differences in how it behaves (for the most part behaves hidden behind coding of which a player doesn’t see) as the end products is still an extension or merger or new route.

The technical side in this case is extensions are done by creating the route mostly again. The actual visual what matters to players is SEHS has been extended.

You need diversity of rolling stock to make a route interesting, and isolated S-Bahn/subway lines don’t provide that.

So if TSW4 brings Dresden-Leipzig or London-Oxford or LIRR 2.0, i welcome whatever wizardry is required to make it happen lol

This is my speculation:
They are going to announce a launch for an updated TSW that will be available for Pre order with some new features. They will show us the 3 DLC that will lauch with the new TSW.Everything that they show will be lable "all work in progress "until it releases on 9/26.
These will include Antelope Valley line, Volarberg, and ECML south route. Then they will show us all upcoming DLC that will lauch for the rest of the year. Some will have clips ,others will be screenshots. These will include JT route, NYT with new timetable, Vectron,pack for the 3 new routes, the flying scotsman centerary edition, upgrade BML.upgraded Munich route., Some of this will probaly launch early 2024.

 

My guess, it’s a core update/fixes to TSW3 which will know be known as TSW.
One German route, one UK route and an extension to an existing route. One new loco for each new route.
All for the price of £59.99 with pre-order customers getting limited edition liveries for use in Creation Centre v.2

Yeah I think diversity of rolling stock can certainly help to make a route interesting. But certainly isn't required.
LIRR and Harlem line are both good routes, and they basically have the same two EMU's each.
Same with East Coastway only having the 377.

 

There are all sorts of regional services that use these lines too.

Interesting thing is that if the S2 and S3 branches are also included (this would add about 25km to the mileage) then it would be a single route across FOUR countries which is pretty cool.

I just got informed that "TSW3 Rush Hour 2 No passenger left behind" was scrapped at the last moment and replaced with TSW4. This means the widely anticipated police trains will not make it to the game.

We're talking about a company, and the aim of every enterprise is to make profit.
Greed would be if they were making lots of profit, and still gauged their prices or fire some staff to make even more profit. Like some Big Tech companies, but nothing as small as DTG.

The discussion has veered off abruptly, so let's go back to what we think they will announce. Here's my guess: they will announce a new release, which is either a pack of DLCs similar to Rush Hour, or a new version with 3 routes. I think the former is more likely, considering TSW3 only launched last year.

 

Well it now looks as if it’s shaping up to be:
UK - Part of the ECML
Europe - Vorarlberg
USA - Antelope Valley.

Looking good IMHO.

 

I just hope we really are getting a section of the ECML, it has certainly been a long time coming.

The links have TSW4 in them so yes it is TSW4. Also I tried substituting all combinations of ECML into the URL and nothing came up so there is currently nothing to substantiate that idea.

 

What about MML? Or variation on Flying Scotsman.

 

A Rush Hour pack wouldn't require a new depot. It's that simple.

 

Yeah tried all of those, in fact most routes in the UK were tried and nothing came up, it might simply be their internal name is obtuse of course.
