I haven't seen any evidence of this anywhere and I'm very patient. I sometimes wonder if you're playing the same game as the rest of us!
I had a stack of things to do and some times I have a bunch of "hurry up and wait for builds" tasks, so I like to fill my time with clearing out bugs. Plus, this one has just been driving me insane for ages, so at some point you just have to say "well, fix it yourself then!". I think many of the last round of updates were result of chill sessions (I find fixing bugs to be quite therapeutic ). I'm only really any good with gameplay issues though, I still haven't mastered how train setup works, but I want to fiddle there at some point see what damage I can cause. Once i've got this caltrain stuff out of the way, i'll take a run at Clinchfield. Matt.
I can definitely see bug fixing as therapeutic/rewarding. Especially when you solve a particularly hard to fix one. Any chance you could take a look at the bug where when you select a route, it actually links to the wrong one? Makes it quite frustrating selecting what you want to use. I've had this on several different trains. Class 20 - Glossp and TVL are switched. Class 31 - EC, TVL and CCL are all mixed. Class 37/7 EPX - SEHS and MML are switched. Class 37/5 RF - All are mixed other than CCL which connects properly. Class 40 - NTP and EC are switched. Class 45 - All are mixed. Class 47 - All are mixed. Class 66 - All are mixed.
My eyes dont deceive me, and I really see Matt in the thread of the speculation about the TSW4 release?
Think that comes under the heading of admit nothing, deny everything. Also good to hear Clinchfield not forgotten, main issue being banking comms for trains with helpers on the rear.
Once you’ve mastered train set up, and you’re looking for something to do, you could always take a look at that AI PIS bug
don't forget the KWG ICE 3 PIS' that you can't turn on anyhow because there are no location/destination names saved in the menus in TSW
Not long now only 3 days left and then we will find out what DTG are working on let's hope we are azumaing to watch the stream lol. Edit: if we get a azuma in the game this will be the best train they have ever added ,forgot about the 700 jk.
That, and the busted Dosto's on Rapid Transit, are my two starter candidates for learning this stuff, yes. Matt.
Hey Matt - not to add unduly to your workload, but speaking of Dostos, the Sifa button (Q on PC) doesn't work when you take over a Dosto on foot on either of the Dresden routes (thereby meaning those of us who play by starting on foot can't ever use Sifa on these units which is quite annoying). It would be good to get this one resolved if at all possible Cheers
You don't need to do that Matt. The rest of the guys at DTG manage that perfectly well without your help (Just Kidding !) Thanks for your dedication.
Well there's lots of type's but the worst is the class 700 or ironing board seats. We consider a good train to have good train seats clean carpet/floors ect. That's the basics pretty much.
I find Dad-Rail pretty honest about many things that are not right or missing and not trying to hide/ignore problems. One of the few channels I like to watch.
As for freight trains improvement we need couplers strength physic to make these trains sustainable challenging. And some decent dpu/like system (you can easily fake working dpu with crusise control/like (afb) mechanic
I think the US is well-represented, we don't need a third California Route. Canadian Pacific in BC would be good.
One of the california routes we have in tsw is a freight only route which not everyone enjoys crawling at 25mph. Another is peninsula corridor, but that has issues. This is only the 2nd californian passenger route and only the 2nd passenger route.
This. I have always enjoyed western USA railroading and to me seeing Soledad Canyon in the game is a dream come true 6500 miles away. In fact I hope we get more western stuff in due course, Surfliner, the Cascades route, the Fort Bragg to Willits Skunk Train, up the Pacific Coast from LA towards San Francisco, Shanta route etc.
Fair enough; there is a lot of Rail in the West (and in the East!) and that players would probably welcome another California route if it was unique and enjoyable, and scenic like Cajon Pass without the time-consuming speed restriction. Routes in the US vary a lot in scenery and stock, etc, and that's what makes it a game with great potential!
If you're talking about Cajon Pass, it really isn't " crawling at 25mph " for much of the route. I drove most of it yesterday towards San Bernardino and much of it in excess of 40mph. Once you learn how to control the train on the gradient, it's quite quick and fun.
When you've grown up travelling on trains in Europe, 40mph is crawling. It depends what gives you a buzz I guess but I like to feel like I'm getting somewhere and love a fast changing landscape, which is why I've never bothered with US freight routes. I'd be much happier trying to control a freight train over Shap at 75mph with an express train behind me waiting for me to tuck into a passing loop.
Hmm, could we get banking comms in the F7's? I'd take a pink kitty bobblehead we have to pet to enable at this point
There are two versions Red BNSF and Black CSX Clinchfield. Both count towards 247 miles achievement and need banking comms for the mountain sections for BNSF F7 its San Bernardino Hesperia and CSX Clinchfield the whole route.
Happy to hear that! Would the banking comm be on your hitlist, or does that fall under train setup? Otherwise, getting those services fixed in which an AI train intercepts and blocks you out would be wonderful.
Impressive. When I go down the hill the dynamics’ effectiveness seems to drop off a cliff above 25 mph. What psi do you set the train brakes at?
Not to mention the flat run between Victorville and Barstow is either 55 or 60mph. People hear pass and immediately prejudice the route for being a slow boring hill climb.
Not looking forward to TSW4 and downloading all your content into it. Should stay with TSW3 for another year. How many bugs will we find in TSW4. First time I won’t buy a DTG product on release. Will wait to see the reviews and opinions first. I have bought everything so plenty to play with. I don’t need another TSW con full of bugs.
