Hi what is your personal favourite bus? Mine is Brisbane transport MAN ng313 with a custom coaches cb60 Evo 2 body.
Bristol RELH coach. Best ever road vehicle with a beautiful melodious Gardner engine and transmission.
Devon General Atlantean 925 “Sea Dog”. Open top. Happy Memories or riding along the sea front in Torbay.
With that Voith gearbox, love that sound. One of my favs is the Wright Renown B10BLE Deffo in this livery as I used to get it home from school.
Really liked the livery on this one when I was younger, they’re not around anymore and got replaced several times (they use to show up as a replacement but I haven’t seen them do that for a while)
Going back to the time I was on a family holiday in Vancouver, I saw these driving around; The Flyer E902 trolley bus. I was enraptured by the total novelty as a kid, the shutter doors, the wires, the contact poles, that tilted back window. It didn't look old but it didn't look new either.
Here's my favourite bus: Stagecoach East Scotland's Alexander Dennis/TransBus Enviro300 numbered 27598 (SN04 EGF), (ex Manchester as well)
My favourite would be this designline trolleybus, unfortunately all were retired in 2017, except for one which was converted to a hybrid bus which I had the pleasure of riding on a few weeks back.
Mine is a nostalgia bus--the earliest CTA articulated buses, which were just awesome as a kid. The highlight, of course, was the inward-facing two-person seats on the rotating platform at the join, which was like being on a mini-carnival ride that lasted the length of a trip.
Here's another bendy bus for the sweet bus pile, purely because it's another B10; The Wright Fusion. And while were here, the Wright Eclipse Fusion along with it.
I don't know a lot about Buses but for me it's the Bristol VR, I remember seeing these as a young child on Holiday in Weymouth in the 1980s and seeing them in their green colours has stuck with me ever since. Whenever I'm at a Bus gala and I see one doing trips I always make it a priority to travel on. (not my photo)
It's on a rotating platform that moves with turns and bumps, so no problem. That's what makes it fun.
