Starting with the UK I will explain at the end on my reasons for longer routes
    East Coast Mainland
London King Cross to Leeds extension by add kgx and Leeds and the rest of the stations
With Harrogate and Skipton and Bradford as DGT have all ready got the Northern license just need The LNER and Grand central hull paragon great Northern trans Pennine express licenses and add the East Midlands trains as well as AI this will make the route very busy
And London King’s Cross to Edinburgh with hull and Sunderland and Middlesbrough Glasgow and Aberdeen and Inverness

    Including Cambridge
And Thameslink trains from Kings Cross

    West coast mainland
    London euston to Glasgow central
With some local services terminating at Birmingham new street

Great Western mainland extension to Cardiff central and penzance

    Elizabeth line
Redding and Abbey Wood and Heathrow, T4 and T5 and Shenfield

    London Cannon Street to orpington
    London Charing Cross to Rainham
    London Victoria to faversham

London Underground route I want to see
    District line
    Metropolitan
    Picadilly,
    Victoria
    Circle line
    Hammersmith and city
    Waterloo and city,
    Northern
    Central line
    London Liverpool Street to Norwich

    London Waterloo to weymouth

    Bedford to all Thameslink routes

    Now the French routes
Marseille Saint Charles route extension to Paris via Lyon

    Paris to Barcelona
With Ouigo trains is the same license,as the TGV it’s under the SNCF
Paris to Milan using the TGV network single deck

    Now Germany
    Frankfurt to Berlin high speed
Cologne to Frankfurt high speed same trains as in the original cologne Route

My reason for longer routes is
You need to update the core to UE5 as it has a bigger map

I think this year we will get a core update to the game to UE5 and next summer we will see TSW 4 You probably won’t see Gen 8 it will probably be the Gen9 and pc and longer Routes including connecting the routes together to make it more fun to drive
I know this might upset some some people
But you have to face reality and move on with the times you can’t be stuck in the past

now ps5 and Xbox s/x are now available to buy again online and in store

I don't think UE5 will do much. 10 million polygons per thing is a lot given how many things there are as there aren't many per route. UE5 would do nothing positive for TSW dtg can't optimise UE4 - something one person teams can do with ease. UE5 doesn't help

Expecting an entire mainline that is almost 400 miles as a single dlc? Not gonna happen. Saying things is much easier than things being done on paper. Ue5 isn't going to magically allow larger and longer routes to happen. Unless autogeneration create an entire route perfectly, it can't happen. It still hasn't happened in tsc, so expecting it to work in tsw which is much more complicated is unrealistic to ask for

    That's actually wrong.

In TSC there is a 393 mile long route which is kings cross - edinburgh available via ATS. Costs £32.99 (subware- I haven't got an ats sub but I might get one soon because it is good value).

Albeit your points about UE5 are 100% correct.

This is actually a route merger of a number of existing routes to make one big one.

The £32.99 is just for an ATS membership so that you can download it (Worth it in my opinion). Then you need to add on the cost of all the required DLC. It’s quite expensive.

Very impressive though. Don’t have it myself as I’m waiting for one of the required DLC to turn up in a sale. Also not sure I’ve got the patience to drive the full length.

I did mention that it's subware in brackets.

I do have the requirements for the route if I get a subscription but yeah the routes certainly a long one.

Yea like above said, it's a merge of existing routes and possibly some areas rebuilt or track added. It didn't need to be built completely from scratch which dtg would have to do for tsw. Tsw also requires a 24hr timetable and all the rolling stock the route has to make it busy which is highly unrealistic. It's like asking dtg to create a route from dc to california in one go and selling it for a reasonable price. Players don't want to be spending hundreds of dollars. Even like $29.99 is expensive for some

I think if UE5 was supported with TSW then that would open a whole new door of opportunities as the thread says.

It wouldn't. UE5 litterally does nothing but add slightly better lighting and a bigger polygon limit which really doesn't effect TSW.

And with optimization UE5 could actually make it WORSE.
