I'm feeling better than I did at the start. I understand there's more to reveal which may make me feel better.

 

The chat on the stream is chaotic

 

Summary:

More short routes. No meaningful upgrades. No route editor. No new countries.

Just give us more cash please so we can forget all the bugs in previous releases.

 

The funny thing is, they'll all buy it, and then moan about it for the next 12 months.

 

Seems like DTG is concentrating more and more on the consoles, those poor konsole kiddies who have no other choice to play with trains than by playing TSW ....
Most have no reference, pocket money to burn and gobble up any DLC thrown at them?

We'll have to wait and see whether that "Pause" feature actually works ...
Were there any mentions of multiple Save slots?

I am not going to bother myself with TSW4 until it is released and people start playing the newest incarnation.
Based upon their findings, DTG's reaction and actual implementation of any fixes I'll add it to my wishlist, waiting for a nice X-mas discount.

 

Player assist seems like a really great idea that's been well implemented, but why wouldn't you make that an update? Some people will have bought TSW3 and might boot it up occasionally, realise it's difficult and turn it off. No way are those people ever gonna consider buying TSW4 (or any DLC) or know that these hints are even a new feature

 

The HUD! Let me move it in TSW4 or no sale.

 

The problem with this forum is a lot of people completely misunderstand their relationship with DTG. They are a business and you are a customer. You are NOT obligated to buy their products. But they are NOT obligated to give you things for free. Too many people on here think that they are entitled to free products and that DTG are wrong for trying to do what they exist to do. Make money.

If you don’t wanna buy TSW4. Don’t.

Funny is, that route editor and timetable editor can be good for fixing things they did not bother to fix (speedboards, misshing ohle, catenary collisions, etc.). These things are very easy to fix, but somebody must want to do it.

Features are always good, same with routes and locos, but I genuinely cant see why we have a TSW4.. Im not being facetious, Im genuinely puzzled. Unless there's some engine announcement its a bit head scratching..

 

There is something deeply morally objectionable about them parading around basic accessibility features like fully rebindable keys as something you have to pay for.

 

The "DTG are a business so they can do what they like" argument only cuts so far.

a) they're obviously inviting feedback
b) if it was all about profit, then why not make a farming game with microtransactions for your phone? A niche game like TSW should be a labour of love, to some extent - it's an audience without many other options, and you can either see that as "these people will buy anything, we've got them over a barrell", or "we are The Train Sim People, so we have a responsibility do to it well"

 

Keyboard/rebinding is a welcome feature. For example the 377 ignored key changes you did in the menu for DSD, hope this will now be resolved.

There's a problem that I see with ÖBB Baureihe 1116 is that Devs will simply clone the Rapid Transit 182 to make it and carry over AFB traction lock bug from the Dispolok Baureihe 182

 

What is still not clear, and is disconcerting, is how much of this will be TSW4 exclusive? Waiting to see if that is addressed in this stream.

It’s not that they can do what they like. It’s that you don’t have to buy their product. There are people in this thread right now who I remember losing their minds last year over TSW3 who said they weren’t going to buy it and they’re done with DTG. And here they are again.

I don't really mind the new version every year tbh - they come with 3 routes and the cost is usually commensurate with that, so it's not an issue.

They've already said that pretty much everything we've seen in the stream is TSW4 exclusive.

only thing thats seeming left out is bug fixes I want to see addressed and I wasn’t expecting that in this. Overall they’ve added in quite a few things I’ve suggested on the forums.

 

Paying customers keep complaining if you don't fix their issues and keep underdelivering. What a shocker!

If I wasn’t going to buy the new version of a product I probably wouldn’t waste my time on the forum dedicated to that specific product. I’d find something more productive to do with my time.

 

I guess I just wasn't clear on if that means exclusive to only TSW4 routes. I must have missed whatever was said. No doubt because I'm posting so much in the forums!

 

A lot more has been refined and added than I was expecting, I’m not mad.

 

So stop buying their products then. Simple. There are people on here who consistently whine about the game but continually keep buying DLC.

 

Again, this is called feedback. It has been said over and over again that TSW has potential and could be a great product - which is why people here keep complaining. Because it could be so much better.
