I never said anything about name calling or bullying though, I was referring to those who (from where I'm standing at least) seem to just want to criticize dtg no matter what they say or do and when some of us dare to disagree with them, we're told that we're seeing dtg through rose tinted glasses or we're just dtg apologists.

The funny thing is … I’m perfectly willing to download 283 gig of dlcs again just to get these new routes. There is one thing railfans have in common … we have too many trains.

oh and then I’ll have to finally get round to deleting all my tsw2 content.

Whales is a term coined by the Japanese gaming market for those who purchase every DLC, game, add on etc.
It's also an ethos for alot of developers and companies as its them who keep them funded.

TSW3 got alot of backlash and was disliked bombed on YouTube when it was first announced. Still can't believe it's been a year

 

It was a bit, some people are never happy.

 

It was exactly the same. And it’s a lot of the same people from last year doing it. They were apparently done with DTG then but are still here now proclaiming to be done again.

DTG Matt or DTG JD or DTG Alex, will older routes be still open to receive future updates or content whatever they may be in TSW4 if they’re not getting any updates or future content in TSW3, As confirmed by the FAQ ?

Edit: Clarity Confirmed, older routes in TSW4 are open to potential future updates and potential future content.

 

i wish there was a more nicer thread where people could talk about whether they agree with tsw4, seems to always end up going downhill

 

Whales is a term coined for a few players whose spend exceeds the total amount spend by regular players. TSW does not have whales if you leave game pass out of the equation. Whales is what some companies thrive on. I do spend a lot of money on TSW but not enough to keep their business afloat

It was pretty obvious.
TSW 3 launched, TSW 2 was dead.
Now TSW 4 has launched, TSW 3 is dead.

Regardless of what DTG said or did not say, anyone that thought otherwise was kidding themselves.
Do I agree with this, not really. But it is what it is.
TSW is an escape for me, and my expectations of the product are no doubt way lower than some on here. I enjoy the game.
Will I upgrade? Maybe, probably.

True but a bad customer is better than not having a customer.

The most disappointing thing for me is the lack of fixes for issues in the performance, the pop in, shadows, the scenery. Some scenery is truly horrific. Im on TSC tonight and yeah the graphics and the lighting arnt as good but the routes have real craft in them. Houses are well modeled and have abundant variety. Where is that in TSW3? Peninsula Corridor has UK houses!

 

But not for those on TSW3? That's the real kicker.

 

I for one will be getting tsw4 myself. I do get why some people are frustrated because DTG did promise fixes for tsw2 and 3 yet they haven't been seen so i do understand why you are angry i would be myself

I think the trouble is; People won’t accept change, and are reluctant to try it I guess. Similarly to how some preserved railways live in the past about how things should be run - but that’s another completely different argument

JD, This is where sometimes DTG lets themselves down.
It was very easy to take from the stream that any content from TSW 3 and before was done. In fact, some took joy in announcing this as FACT.
What should have been said in the stream is that older content may still be fixed/modified/improved, but only when played within the TSW 4 core.
Clarity its what's needed, otherwise you end up with the forum like it is tonight. An absolute mess of mis-information, hate and toxicity, which at times is both sad and unpleasant to read.

 

This was the clarification I needed.
Since I want at least one of the new routes, I’ll be able to upgrade for no additional cost beyond the standard DLC price. I have no basis to complain.

True, those who don’t want any of the new routes are getting hosed, but that seems like a small (though vocal) minority.

Question: will future standalone DLC include the base game? So if one has TSW3 and buys something that releases later in the year, are they automatically upgraded?

 

Answer of a part of the vocal minority : no, if you want tsw4, you need go through one of their tsw4 packs, not dlc.

I see no reason for DTG to change..

 

Indeed, if you want the promised fixes for the content you already bought for TSW3, you need to buy TSW4. Well, that's me out. Can't support that business model.
