Hello there, I'm a little Discord-Freak, so I thought about how great it would be to have Rich Presence for TSW (and TS maybe too). You could see on which Route you're driving and which Locomotive / Train. Like in the example image I made.
At the same time it might be nice for DTG to create an 'offical' Discord server as it seems to be their prefered method of communication, much to the exclusion of the majority of their customers.
I'd rather not see an official DTG Discord server ever being formed, if I'm honest. The unofficial/community TS/TSW Discord was created by the community for the community, and is moderated and maintained as such. The DTG presence there is voluntary and they only participate when they feel like they can contribute something. An official DTG Discord would need a lot of attention from DTG people (Dmitri to moderate, others to contribute) and would probably kill the platform altogether as it becomes a chore.
I don't want them too either. I was being facetious. My point being that they should be contributing to their own forum, rather than an unofficial Discord server. I'm fed up of hearing 'DTG know about this bug, Trainsim-Bloggs said on Discord they're working on a fix for it,' that's the sort of communication which should be happing here, through the official channels.
I would love being on an official TSW-Discord-Server. It would be a great place, where DTG could announce updates and so on. Every game, that wants to become bigger has it's own. Even Farming Simulator. Simulation is a genre not for everyone. So an official server would bring the community together, because you easy can find other people that are interested in trains / simulation / both. I can't imagine. A place, where real life train drivers could give tutorials on how to handle trains and so on. So why not? But: the rich presence would be more important to my personal opinion.
Ok, maybe I should't be so narrow-minded and give a chance to have a look at it. Can someone tell me where I can find the server?
Thanks Shukal! Ok, so there is only the initial idea left. Now I only need the rich presence function
