Why did your company lie to customers for a year and keep saying you'd bring patches to TSW2? Has anybody at DTG taken a course in business ethics before? If not, I'd highly suggest it. (and don't worry, I know you'll never address these truths with your customers / prospective customers. Let the grift keep on!)

Will all dlc be available at ps5 or will it be over a few weeks like with TSW 3?

Sorry if some of these have already been asked…

    1. While not taking the dim view that some have, I think it’s still fair to ask why a paid upgrade after only a year of TSW3? Why not adopt the TSC business model with free core updates and the product paid for by selling quality DLC? Is that a console limitation.

    2. When you say support is being dropped for legacy products is that just the core or all DLC content as well? In addition to long standing fixes still needed on stuff going back to the original game, some recent releases under TSW3 are still waiting updates or fixes. (Class 700, PFR hill tearing).

    3. Peterborough to Doncaster a curious choice for ECML. How will the timetable represent trains which do not call at Peterborough and/or Doncaster?

    4. The enhanced editing and in particular the route editor are particularly welcome. However, will these be accompanied by decent documentation and a wiki to instruct those of us to wish to have a go. Can your route builders state how easy or hard the editor is to use compared to Trainz Surveyor, the TSC editor and the old MSTS RE?

    5. Has the save game seen any love? Specifically more than one save slot for the increasing plethora of routes we now have and fixing the issue whereby returning to free roam and taking over another train, saving and returning fails to load the objective data?

    6. Will the Class 700 be getting a better route to run on than SEHS?

I’m sure there will be more I can think of but that’s all for now.

Edit: One more - please tell us you have got reverb and rumble sorted/implemented for tunnels and bridges etc.

Why do we have to download all old routes again when upgrading to TSW 4? Can't there be a better way, than just cluttering the drive with two versions for a time and the wait for the library download? And considering that we will have a TSW5 next year with five or six more routes ... how long do you expect us to wait until we can play again after upgrading?

I have the same question, too. Is there any work around?
Even if I can accept re-buy the main game again.
Download a lot of DLC every year is such a pain, especially you live in a place with slow internet.
I hope DTG can just upgrade (even we have to pay) the main game next time, then we don't have to re-download whole DLC every year.

    One more from me…
Antelope Valley, with an end to end run being around two hours will these be correctly represented in the timetable or artificially split halfway, as happened with Cajon?

Trains that do not stop at these stations will pass them at high-speed. Those may be unplayable, like trains that are nonstop between York and London.

There's others that may miss Peterborough only and stop elsewhere, these will be playable services that start/begin at Grantham.

Those teeny tiny signals on a timeline and small text in the top right of the screen, as seen in the short previews, are they just an alternative to the big readable signal icons and text we have in TSW3 or is it the only option in TSW4?

Oh one more question, that probably will not be answered: Why havn't you filled us in with the new version. This shouldn't be a secret. You don't need to tell us the details but being transparent with the future of the game should be a no brainer. So a hint in the roadmap that in late summer a new version will be released would have been fair.

But never mind. I will assume from now on, we will get a new version every year.

It does not work that way. If they make a heavy change in the core as they did and probably added the add-on manager to all platforms (previously was only in the PS version) then they will need to rebake every package and you would still need to download everything anyway.

    1) will the cc livery substitution finally work on freight train cars?
    2) will the passenger system be reworked or at least improved?
    3) will there be any new driving experience implemented ?(simulation immersion, realism)
    4) will my cc subscriptions transfer to TSW4?
    5) will the routes from pc editor available at cc? (for all platforms)

Oh, I may have missed that. I recall it being in the Roadmap still for July 2023 but couldn't remember seeing patch notes that it had been implemented. My apologies if so.

    1. Why does ECML stop at Doncaster? York would have been a far more satisfying end point, and while it makes the route even longer, there aren't any stations to model in between.

    2. Why the 801 instead of the 800? Thanks to that, the services that run to and from Lincoln and Harrogate shouldn't be playable.

    3. Now that Flying Scotsman is confirmed, could we potentially see other iconic preserved locos come to TSW? It would be a great way to enjoy steam without needing to go to the effort of creating a new historical route.

Are you finally going to give us an option to adjust the render distance for for the track, it’s set far to close and causes a really annoying pop in? It’s pretty much the only thing stopping me fully moving over from TSC to TSW. Even if it just a setting we adjust in the INI file I’ll be happy.

If that's true then someone should probably update the addons guide which says otherwise, only the newly announced routes are showing as "These routes support all the latest TSW 4 features including Free Roam, Formation Designer, and Improved OHLE rendering."

Yeah, personally I would like them to clarify things where the stream has been contradicted by the FAQs rather than just assume anything.

Legacy content will still be updated, but the updates will only push to TSW4, not previous versions.

Would also like to know about the trophy situation in TSW4. Will the old routes get trophies again?
Im hoping not as there`s still issues with TSW3 trophies that worked fine in TSW2 so im hoping for a fresh start in TSW4.

I like the next 2km addition to the HUD, on the screenshots I've seen the white line is flat, I'm wondering whether that line will rise and fall to highlight upcoming inclines and descents? If so that would be really cool as I pause the game a lot to check what hills are coming up.

With such an iconic steam locomotive being brought into TSW, have the physics, automated fireman, and handling characteristics of steam been refined or further improved? Any update on manual firing?

Why is there no mention of the BR 420?

EDIT: Explained by Maik- he couldn't give DTG a completion date, so it was left out. But he is definitely working on it.

Yeah, same for German routes like HRR, RRO, RSN, RT, etc, who definitely need new layers for the new trains like the ICE 1, ICE 3, N-Wagen, Br628 etc.

The 2 things I'm concerned about is:
-Will al legacy add ons be available day one on playstation. Because on tsw3 it took to long for all dlc to become available.
-is add on manager there day one.

Because that are the things that stopped me playing tsw3 for a long time and I kind of forgot about the game.

Why didn't you work on features according to Multiplayer, Train guard, ticket Control, etc.? It would be a thing, a lot players would've wished for TSW 4. Honestly I like the features we'll get to TSW 4, but I would really like to have multiplayer, to play with friends

Matt answered this in another thread. They wanted to do the Class 800 as their first choice. But when they went to LNER to do the audio/data collection they didn't have a choice which Azuma would be available, and they ended up with the 801. They still would like to do the 800 in the future, but no promises.

Most people don't want multiplayer. The game wasn't built with it in mind, and would be a huge resource hog to implement, to the detriment of others things most people want.

Important question with regard to Game Pass users: how will they transfer their career progress over to TSW4 if their TSW3 has been deleted as of Sept 1?

Could I ask what's the main difference from 800 and 801? And why the 800 it's better?

The 801 is pure Electric, with a single Diesel backup motor that allows it to limp back at 5MPH.
The 800 is Bimodal, it has the electric capability, as well as several Diesel Motors that allow it to operate normally on non electrified sections of the line. It's able to swap between Diesel or Electric as required. It will still hit it's line speed of 125 on Diesel, it just accelerates a lot slower than when on Overhead power.
Then you have the 802, which is the same as the 800. But has more powerful diesel motors, so accelerates faster, and has larger fuel tanks so can run longer on diesel.

Score 2.0 - I think the new way of getting points is an improvement over what we had, getting extra points for driving correctly, etc .... My concern is that the needed points for each medal are still relative to the max achievable points.

In TSW3 the main problem was that the max achievable points were often calculated incorrectly, making it impossible to get gold medals.

Have you made any changes to the way the max points are calculated so we do not have the same problem in TSW4?

The 800 is dual-mode, with diesel power for non-electrified sections. The 801 is electric only

This was answered in another thread. The game will stop working on Sept 1st, but it is not uninstalled automatically.

Install TSW4 and transfer your profile, then manually uninstall TSW3.

Almost electric only, the 801's do have one diesel engine on board but is only really used in emergency situations such as an ohle failure.

Question: How did the individual TSW 4 core routes each meet the LAMP process?

Basically, this relates to interesting, long-term gameplay, service type and rolling stock variety, how they relate to players' existing TSW content/collection, and so on.

With the new editor, will there by any chance be a possibility to transfer/translate content (models, scripts etc.) from Train Simulator Classic?
