Now at least I know I will never get Clinchfield banking comm fixes, HSC will never get proper sound or simugraph, BNSF SD70ace will stay in broken dynamic/independent/bailing off state, there will be always some EOTDs on the front of the trains (SPG, HSC), dash 8 loco will never get working cabin FOTD, the custom CC livery will never appear on freight cars, the stations will remain empty and passengers insane or absent, there will never come more simmersion (couplers, dpu, etc), there will always be bizarre rear boogie in AC4400 and winter green artefacts in Cane Creek, insecurity if I complete scenario or bug fail will stay with me forever, LiRR will stay zombietown, Acela monitors will be flickering till the end of DTG...

I think you misunderstand. Bugfixes have not been ruled out for legacy routes in TSW4. It's only users who stick with 3 (or 2) who will never see them.
You know those fixes were promised and announced every major update and each iteration of TSW right? Do you really think this time it will be different? Do you really believe they will actually fix the issues that are still there since TSW 2020?
By logic bugs from tsw and tsw2 were never fixed in tsw3, so logically tsw4 is supposedly remain that course.
Matt did say in another thread Clinchfield was on his list of late night bug fixes to get through so there may be hope
Don’t expect fixes for the things that bother you. Fixes are few and far between and only skim the surface of what needs fixing. It is close to random chance as to which of the numerous bugs will be fixed.
Is there a source for this claim ? I would like to read or hear it myself, because if that's true, I'm not sure if I feel good about the honesty or bad about the practice itself.
What they are saying is that TSW3 core bugs won't get fixed, as that will be dropped in favour of TSW4 core. To literally drop DLC content because it's legacy just isn't logical.
Matt also said in just about EVERY roadmap stream that the final group of preservation crew updates were coming to TSW2. We're still waiting and he still won't admit it's not happening!

True enough and I'll jump to TSW4 because I want a couple of the new routes. But by doing so I'm basically kissing the legacy fixes goodbye. I don't expect any, I'll be pleasantly surprised if they happen. The NYT updates are all I really care about anyway at this point and, cross my fingers because you never know with DTG, they are coming. I mean they wouldn't throw Joe's work to the wolves, would they now.
